  1. What? 1) Buffalo Bills PR made a mistake 2) playing Mind Games with the Hoodie Either or both, your call
  2. Gilliam is the only one on our roster, and he's been limited all week with an ankle, so it's quite possible if he were active we still wouldn't have a fullback
  3. Hyde is so important to the defense, you hate to see it. But I wasn't, frankly, liking either Stevenson or McKenzie as the KR/PR in this stuff.
  4. That's how I read it, while Josh looks like "Yeah, yeah. Seen it before. This all ya got?" But, it's what they do on the field that counts.
  5. I think the implicit assumption that you're making is that each QB is throwing the ball 5 yds with the same velocity. But that's probably not the case. The ball that is thrown with the higher velocity and the straighter line will be less affected over a short distance; the ball that is thrown with touch and a nice arc will be more affected. As far as downfield passing game, yes, that will be more affected. The real problem is the gusts. They make it impossible for any QB to throw with pinpoint precision.
  6. No Kyle Dugger for the Pats. But they did activate Collins. When it's Too Tough for Them, It's Just Right for US
  7. Well, we'll see. It certainly wouldn't upset the rest of the AFC N if you're right, but between Mayfield's injuries and Burrow's shoulder, not to mention the intense Steelers rivalry, it certainly would surprise me if you were.
  8. #3 for rush yards despite losing both their starting RBs to IR before the season. #9 defense, tied for #5 defense on rush y/a #3 playoff seed right now, with the W-L record we'd like to have after tonight Give the Dolphins some credit, Flores had a plan for the Poe-Birds and the Fins executed. That's all you can ask - like I ask it for McDermott and the Bills tonight
  9. Notable PFF gradings include grading Tyrod Taylor above Aaron Rodgers after one game. Rodgers response to that was classic. Here are their pre-season QB grades: https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-quarterback-rankings-all-32-starters-ahead-of-the-2021-nfl-season Notable features: 9) Matt Ryan ahead of Mayfield, Stafford, and Tannehill 13) Carr ahead of Cousins and Herbert 16) Ben Roethlisberger ahead of Kyler Murray and Joe Burrow 20) Daniel Jones ahead of 23) Carson Wentz 29) Tua Tagavailoa I agree that Tua has appeared to improve as the season goes on, but the PFF QB Grading System does not appear to be a very good match for reality.
  10. The Ravens are a good team. I have a flying pig for my avatar because I said the Dolphins would beat the Ravens when pigs fly
  11. from wunderground, current forecast (click to embiggen) Game time 36 degrees falling to 33 degrees, 20% chance of precip and falling, winds 25 mph falling to 21 mph. Gusts of 35-40 mph possible.
  12. Dude, you don't just have a Drama Llama, you have a whole freakin' herd of them. I know it. I know you do.
  13. Do you wear gloves when handling hot peppers? I don't generally, and at times I regret it. I've formed the practice of tasting a tiny sliver of pepper and a seed and judging how much to add accordingly. I don't know any other way to do it. I've bought jalapenos at the grocery store, too, that were meek and mild and I could add the whole package, but the next package I would add part of one pepper. But why not post an appropriate warning and let folks decide for themselves if it's too hot or not? Sounds like depriving the spice-o-philes to protect the others.
  14. I actually had the same problem. Not growing habaneros, but my anchos and my jalapenos were downright mild, especially the latter I allowed to ripen. But this fall, the final picking before frost - all of a sudden those babies had some zip to them.
  15. Call the Highway Department? It is Monday, they should be there What did you do with said sign? I'm thinking pick it up, carry it inside, and prop it up over a heating vent. Drape a scarf over it and offer it a cocoa.
  16. If people aren't careful with their tailgate setups we could have flying folding tables
  17. Yes. The refs are to be feared. They have the power to stall drives with penalties on any play or on every play. This can be game-changing They also have the ability to withhold flags for flagrant fouls that ought to be flagged, which can be equally game-changing Both things can take place without any reference to an NFL-planned conspiracy theory. The crew we have for tomorrow night reportedly throws the fewest flags in the NFL. That could be a good thing, or a bad thing, but rest assured Bill Belichick has his team coached to take every advantage. I hope we do too.
  18. The Bills run no-huddle at times. About 12% of our snaps https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2021_splits.htm#snap_type_splits This is about 2x as much as we ran no-huddle last season, but we ran it about 10% of the time in 2019. It has plusses and minuses. A big drawback, which the players talked about in some interviews back in 2019, is that our playbook is fairly extensive and involves a lot of route and protection options. To communicate in the no-huddle, those have to be summarized for each play in one or two words, along with a code for an audible play. No big deal, just make the team memorize that list of words, right? Well, except that if the defense can hear them, they have to be changed each week, which adds another layer of stress and work onto the players. Otherwise the Defense hears "Dalmation!" and knows what play the Bills ran the last time that was the play call. We actually run the same formation a lot. Last year was 71% in (1,1) set with 1 RB and 1 TE, Diggs Davis and Beasley as the WR. This year that's down a bit, but it's still more than half our plays. I think our playbook is a lot more complicated than the KGun playbook was, though.
  19. Exactly On the one hand, as you note Mac went to a situation with a strong winning culture and a strong team around him, so kind of optimal situation for a rookie. On the other hand, I'm puzzled at how Bills fans, who suffered (and still sometimes suffer) from people looking at our QB and pronouncing "accuracy can't be improved" "he'll always be like that" - are so certain about the limits to another QB's development. Joe Namath and Tom Brady didn't come into the league as physical specimens. I'm not saying Mac Jones is likely to develop into a QB like either one of them, it's just that I don't understand the certainty "he's near his ceiling" blah blah. I just want to see his floor Monday night 😇 and in 2 weeks And on the other hand, some of the stuff in the media about Mac Jones is just over-the-top, so that's kind of off-putting We haven't heard the same media. I have most definitely heard some crowning.
  20. LOL Bills social media team did a fluff thing asking them players if they could only have one app what would it be Poyer: GET OFF YOUR PHONE!
  21. No, I don’t want KC to win. I was responding to a post that said we’re out of a playoff spot if that happens and we lose. I don’t think that’s correct.
  22. That is what Jones is now. But what he will become, is an open question. Mayfield, by all reports, acted as though he’d arrived. The Browns let him choose his HC and OC. He supposedly wasn’t putting in the work in the film room or in the offseason. That’s not going to happen in Foxboro, but whether and how much Jones will improve, can’t tell you
