  1. Wow. So many Men of Straw. Try responding to points someone has actually made. I'm not interested in betting odds, which IMO are all about how people want to spend their money. We start the season with projections based on last year and off season moves. Then as the season progresses, we get more data from how a team plays week to week. When we're sitting here at Week 14, why does it not make sense to look at a team's total record? It's not "The Swami Was Not Available", its data about what actually has occurred. The only time it would make sense to disregard some data, IMO, would be if a key player was injured and unavailable for the game. I'm not gonna respond to all the stuff you put in there about analytics and "if you don't see...I don't know what to tell you" about points I'm not making or arguing. My only point is, at Week 14 in the season, it makes sense to me to look at what a team's record is now when evaluating if the teams we played were good teams or bad teams, not to make up stuff about "well, they were only 2 and 2 when we played them so they weren't a winning team but after we defeated them they won the next game and went 5-1 with the same guys, but that doesn't mean they were a good team when we played them". Their record both before and after they played us is data. How do you justify disregarding data? The only exception would be, if we played a team without a key player (as with, for example, Green Bay without Aaron Rodgers) but that player returned.
  2. Feliciano had his chance last season when Morse went out with concussion. He got his chance in a run-heavy game. He got his chance in a pass heavy game. He got his chance in a (very slightly) more balanced game. The conclusion was "c'mon back here, Mitch!" I'm not saying we don't need an upgrade at C. But if the question is "how can we improve our IOL?" I'm not persuade Feliciano is part of the answer. He's a talented backup who can play all 3 positions decently. Do we have any RB on the team who can run outside zone, except maybe fumble-fingers Breida?
  3. You mean those highly useful plays that for various reasons we don't seem able to pull off?

  5. So it only counts of the record was winning when we played them? What about teams that had a winning record when a team played them then have lost a number of games and now have a tied or a losing record? So like if Pittsburgh loses another game, then they'd be a team that we lost to with a losing record? Or no? This all seems very complex and complicated. Why doesn't a team's overall record count? 6. I defer to your expertise watching film and grading the role of a DT in McDermott's defense over the coaches and the guys who break down film regularly Yes, that's sarcasm
  7. Star has been good when he's played. But "the Best Ability is Availability." He's only given us that in 8 of 13 games this year and 0 of 19 games last year, and at age 32, there's no reason to think this would improve next season.
  8. Be Careful What You Wish For. Not as far as Star, I'm Done with him. But there are plenty of teams which have gotten close, then blown up the coaching staff for not getting all the way quickly enough, and have plummeted back to the bottom of the pile.
  9. If you think it's silly, that's fine - but you were called on totally misunderstanding what's being discussed. As a guest here, I think you might have mis-typed "oh, whups, Me Bad" "It's always hot in Florida" .....that would be why Citrus growers have loss prevention programs for freezes, and why Frozen Iguanas are a thing? https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/weather/2021/12/02/frozen-iguanas-how-handle-florida-weather-cold-trees/8823566002/ No. You don't run on every play. Because the point is, if you maintain enough of an effective pass threat, the Bills can't just choke down on the run as they have against the Ravens. Yes, the Bills have been beaten up against the run but that by itself is probably not enough to defeat us. We beat Us. We defeat us. 4 trips to the RZ and 1 TD to show for it will do that. If the Bills score TDs on half those redzone trips, they win. If they score anything on each of those RZ trips, they win. Examples of what I mean by "that probably isn't enough to beat us": -While collecting 222 rush yards, the Pats only managed 14 points to go with it. And they got their lone TD off our dumb-ass stupid unforced fumble on the QB-RB exchange. We also had 4 trips to the RZ, 1 TD, 1 FG, and 1 missed FG to show for it. -During the Colts 41-15 Butt-Whuppin, the Colts scored 21 points off of 2 INTs and a stupid unforced fumble at our goal line. Did their run game beat us? Well, without our stupid ass turnovers, we certainly could have had a much better shot -During the Tennessee game, despite giving up 146 rush yards, we were in it to win it at the end. Again, 5 trips to the RZ and 2 TDs; if we score on 3 (our average of last season) we win. The Bills can be beaten far more often and more easily than I'd like. But the Bills make a huge contribution to beating the Bills.
  10. Yeah, he really worked on his technique and arm strength But wow. What a transformation for the Steelers between the first and second half. I thought they were a whupped team but someone (Tomlin?) rallied them and got their act together
  11. Context, my man. We’re talking about the weather and whether 80 degrees will cause acclimatization problems for our cold-weather team. It’s relevant to ask how much problem we had in Miami in September with similar weather. No one is equating the two teams.
  12. They did last year. Remember that amazing one-hand catch Bease went up for in the ‘Zona game? Diggs went up for some jump balls where he got nailed. Davis tip-toeing on the sideline. But this year — no,we don’t seem to be making them
  13. I could be wrong, but I think they have different concerns at the moment Whoooo! Pick by the Steelers
  14. Do you really want to argue that it isn’t “only 11”? The Pats had a nice long play. Good job. Kudos. You got one on us. But you had the ball at that point because one of our players had a boneheaded fumble. Different people have different metrics for defense. I like to look at points more than yards - a good D can give up a lot of yards and not many points. The Patriots had 11 first downs and converted 2 of 12 3rd downs to go with their 14 points. You can look at it a couple ways - defense that was good enough to give our team a chance to win, or ??. 222 rush yards is crap rushing defense in general, but when a team rushes 46 times and scores 14 points, it ought to be good enough - except we didn’t score more points, despite only 11 fewer yards. Conversely, a struggling offense can gain a lot of yards but not score points. The Bills had their chances to score on 4 trips to the red zone, and came away with 1 TD and 2 scores. That ain’t good. You can look at that a couple of ways - amazing defense by the Pats, or poor execution by the Bills offense
  15. 11 yards? The Pats had 11 more yards. You really want to make a deal of 11 yards?
  16. You guyzzzzz. I just checked. The guy upthread is right, he hasn’t’ come off IR yet
  17. I don’t know, after a while it’s like watching someone kick a puppy. And WTF was the point of that last play before halftime?
