  1. Pittsburgh looking like their D missed the plane to KC
  2. Hoping to keep this thread relatively clean of discussion so folks can find the latest news on covid list additions to/activations from Your help appreciated

  4. Don't have time to baby sit during the game
  5. Well, he said he'd "play for free" if he had to $100k is only like 2% of his base salary for the season - Chump Change to him. Parrino article: https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2021/12/bills-cole-beasley-reportedly-fined-about-100k-for-numerous-covid-violations-this-year.html
  6. *ulp* At the same time, Dawkins was only just activated, he hasn't practiced all week, and Lord only knows what shape he's in, so there's that. People who have been lobbying to see Ryan Bates on the notion that anyone would be better than Ford or Feliciano will Get Their Wish.
  7. You got one of those for Judon? Or Damien Harris? LMK if you need extra pins.
  8. (that's to "are we at lock status on Oliver's 5th year option"?) Bonus link to Joe B's Athletic preview article: https://theathletic.com/3034752/2021/12/24/why-gabriel-davis-was-the-bills-x-factor-5-thoughts-and-a-prediction-for-sunday-against-the-patriots/?source=emp_shared_article Big woulda, coulda, shoulda on Gabe Davis
  9. TBH at this point I think Kumerow is a better blocker, although he doesn't have the "beef" Not sure about Gilliam vs Sweeney in pass pro
  10. Well, I guess the Pats don't have to concern themselves with our 2 TE sets. I hope this is something he can correct. 11 mph winds from the NW, doesn't sound too gnarly
  11. 1) horrid fumble in the previous Pats game 2) can't pass protect worth ***** I'd like to see him because I think he effectively opens our playbook a bit, but if he's not effective, he can't be out there.
  12. Did he have more than one? Not that one shouldn't be enough to doghouse him...but he only had one target. He's credited with 1 drop on the season, which given he's only had 12 targets, is 8.3%. The thing is, Sweeney's blocking does not seem to have taken the step it needed to take.
  13. Brueggs, no offense, but if you don't understand how the transmission rate is any different from vaccinated to unvaccinated...you simply aren't honestly investigating the matter to the point where you should be offering an opinion, because there is are a lot of data out there. I can think of at least 7 studies and additional data from health departments showing that in fact, that was very much the case with Alpha, it was still the case albeit a lower effect with Delta. Here are some data I put in the "Facts" thread this summer in response to a post similar to yours: This This It remains to be seen with Omicron. I haven't yet seen any population data comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated spread: in the populations I'm aware of which test absolutely everyone regularly (the NFL or Cornell), the overwhelming majority of the population, 95% or 97%, is vaccinated. You'd need to do something like enroll ~6,000 vaccinated and unvaccinated people in a study and test them every week to be able to gather appropriate data on infection/transmission. In preseason (on which the season protocols were based) Dr Sills (NFL CMO) stated their data were that vaccinated were 7x less likely to be infected with Covid than unvaccinated players and they were not seeing intra-facility transmission. (A person who tests positive continues to test positive for a median of ~20 days, so testing 1x a week shouldn't factor into detecting infections). Recently he said titers in vaccinated players decline more rapidly and they have fewer symptoms and overall return to play more quickly, although only 20% of them return in <10 days. The NFL has not made these data public, so take that as you will. Since the NFL pivoted to requiring "enhanced protocols" with universal masking and distancing, I think it's reasonable to infer that they were seeing intra-facility transmission take place with Omicron so concluded having unmasked vaccinated players strolling about was a Bad Idea. Time will tell if they made the right decision on testing. Having read a transcript of Sills press conference, I understand how they're thinking about it. I'm not sure it's the right strategy, but it's not my call. The Bills are believed to have 6 unvaccinated players (91% vaccinated per Beane, which is lower than league average). They have 69 players (53 roster + 16 PS) Of them, 4 or 5 unvaccinated players are recently infected (Beasley, Davis, Lotulelei, Brown, possibly Ford based on preseason comments). That's at best, 66% infection, maybe as high as 83%. The Bills have had 13 or 14 other players infected this season (total of 18 players on list). That's at worst, 20% infection at best 18%. These data from our Bills would indicate vaccinated players are 3x to 5x more likely to be infected, assuming an equal probability of exposure. Please bear in mind that this is a Football site, and that we try to limit the discussion on here to football relevance - yes, me too - so please consider that when "scratching the itch" to not "allow dissenting opinions to propegate".
  14. Personally, I would suggest finding a new physician. I want my doctor to base his medical judgements on data and a fact-based risk assessment, and I wouldn't want to feel I'm going to be denied potentially effective new treatments because my doctor has some sweeping generalization he trots out like "isn't a fan of new medicine". That's just my opinion. Incorrect. Also incorrect.
  15. True, but they're fairly key players. Lotulelei. Brown. Beasley. Davis. Klein. probably Boettger but not sure. One or two more.
  16. Oh, I wasn't intending to dunk on Sal for it. I get it, it's ESPN's idea of quality Bills coverage But there are a lot of storylines for the Bills at Pats game that I'm genuinely interested in - Bills missing 2 starting OLmen to Covid and getting Dawkins back just under the wire - will Dawkins really be able to go? is there any precedent for a guy being activated and playing well? What about being down 2 of our starting WR? What about the impact of the 3 Pats on the Covid list? So it chaps me when the press chooses to cover Middle School Slumber Party Gossip instead of actual football topics.

  19. unsure about the number of asterisks Chandler used, but I'll work with it Go Bills!
  20. Dr Allen Sills says they aren’t seeing spread within the facility in the teams that have gone to “enhanced protocols”. I linked and posted excerpts from a transcript of a media session, but that’s basically what’s behind the NFL’s policy pivot. They don’t think they can keep it out of the facility, but they think they can keep it from spreading. I’m dubious, but they’re the folks with the data. Of course if the guys get together outside the facility and hang out normally, all bets are off.
