  1. It wouldn't make me sad The question is, if Dane Jackson goes down, would he be better than whoever else we got to plug in there? Nick McCloud?
  2. Not so, Breeland didn't play for Minnesota until 2021. He was on KC for 2 years, GB for 1 yr, and WFT before that
  3. I think Jaquon Johnson was also out with illness yesterday, so hopefully not being mentioned is a Good Sign that he was practicing
  4. Good article on Ryan, er I mean Rick, Bates https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2021/12/just-call-him-rick-bills-ryan-bates-creating-buzz-having-time-of-his-life.html
  5. Practice squad protections for Bills yesterday https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2021/12/29/22858169/bills-vs-falcons-eli-ankou-among-the-returning-named-on-buffalos-practice-squad-protections DE Eli Ankou WR Isaiah Hodgins DB Nick McCloud and Josh Thomas
  6. Since there was 1 minute left in the game at that point and the next two plays were "victory on 3", field position doesn't matter.
  7. I bet it's "I don't want to repeat what I said. I told them to shut up" Last year he declined to say what he told Jackson with those words. Said "I told him to relax" LOL
  8. Cam Lewis went on the list 12/27 so I kind of don't understand that. Vaccinated and asymptomatic and 2 negative tests I guess? Cody Ford went on the list 12/24 so he's had 6 days on the list.
  9. Cody Ford and Cam Lewis off the list. Quintin Morris also off the list. Sad news for those who kept wanting to see RB Antonio Williams, he's been released. I wonder if that means we'll soon see some PS signings at OL and DB
  10. Yes. Nothing personal, it's a business
  11. From the article you linked, looks like he was able to work out at home. And maybe it helped him focus on the film and on technique.
  12. I think there's more to it than that. For example, the Titans said they were coached that Josh would always sneak to his L and specifics of what to watch for. Now they could get that off film, but during the season with a team to prepare for each week, there are a lot of tendencies to grab off tape. Having someone who has been working with Josh and watching film after the game and knows those tendencies and can share has value. Then there can be stuff like the playcalls at the line, if they haven't changed them. There's a lot of stuff.
  13. He said something to the effect of "it isn't my job to mentor him" or "it isn't my job to develop him"
  14. What are the two routes McKenzie runs? I can't look at his route charts because there are very few games in which he's gotten enough snaps/targets for NexGen to chart him - this past Sunday and Week 17 last year are it. I do agree that he hasn't been good tracking balls downfield (that was Beane's post-season comment "he needs to get better at tracking the ball") I would say he improved at that with his work to become a KR/PR It would be a point that what he ran yesterday were reverses/sweeps, flats, and crossers of various depths. But week 17 last year was a bit more extensive route vocabulary. I will add that last season was the first time I saw McKenzie run recognizable routes with sharp cuts in them, and that I think his downfall as a deep threat has been getting jammed. Yesterday I saw him get held and bumped and he flat out didn't care. He still ran the route and caught the ball. He also made some pretty good adjustments - his TD catch was thrown behind him and he adjusted on it nicely, another ball that he climbed the ladder for over Duggar. He looked like he's taken a step.
  15. Yeah, that was a great run. FredEx worthy
  16. I thought I was starting a fun thread about Diggs getting a great Christmas gift with an engraving that seemed to mean a lot to him and made no sense to me It's gone "off the rails"
  17. The issue with Beasley is he stays on the field when he's dinged up, and the Bills training staff and coaches OK this. So McKenzie seldom or never gets his chance. Just in the final game last year.
  18. You might enjoy watching the Cover1 Film room thing. One of the points they made - and they were persuasive in illustrating them - is that the Patriots often did have a sound defensive call, and in fact "won the play" with their coverage and pressure. Then Josh happened. Sidearm deliveries around a leaping LB in his face, making a jump throw, forcing the defender to move up to defend against a possible QB run then passing over his head or just making a ridiculous pinpoint throw, that incredible juke for the big run gain on 4th down, etc etc. Just clipboard-throwing "that f****** guy!" stuff Other times of course, their coverage was inexplicable. For example, initially they just didn't bother to cover McKenzie or Singletary - partly wagering on Josh simply not taking these throws, which, if it's a tendency I can see, Bellycheat can most certainly see. But after Josh in fact took those throws and took them promptly so they went for a good gain, you'd have thought they might have made an adjustment. Or not - maybe it was outsmarting himself with what normally works. "So that lil' guy caught a couple, we're not going to shift coverage to him and leave Diggs or Sanders open, that's exactly what the Bills want. He's the backup, he was even benched when we played them before, it's not like he's not gonna keep making those catches."
  19. Badol has it right. Beasley received substantial guaranteed money when he signed here, including his first 2 years salary and part of this year's salary. But per Overthecap he has no guaranteed salary next season, and only $1.5M in amortized signing bonus that would be charged to 2022.
  20. I just watched Cover1's Film Room on the Pats game. They commented, and you could really see - where there were times McKenzie made a reception and turned on the afterburners to gain those extra YAC. Beasley would have made a good catch and gotten a few yards. Kyle Duggar
  21. McKenzie hung on to the ball and did a frontside plant on the turf, winded himself for a first down Kumerow put a forearm down to break his fall and lost the TD LOL he says he can dunk It's not inconceivable, so can Beasley
