Tyrod's great weakness, IMO, would be his snap-to-release time. He had the slowest in the NFL last year, and he's got to speed it up while improving his ability to get the ball to his targets in stride. It's not an easy thing to do, and if he doesn't make it happen, then he'll have to live and die by the deep ball instead of being able to hit the money throws--the mid-range completions that keep the chains moving. Well, I think the idea would be to have the corners play outside leverage and funnel things to the middle of the field, and for the EDGE defenders to rush wide and upfield--basically keep Taylor in the pocket; it's not much different than what NE did against him last year. Now, that type of defense does indeed expose them to the run, but I would imagine that most teams are willing to bend-but-not-break in terms of allowing rushing yards and limiting us to FGs in the red zone if they can. Where it could fall apart is with Roman's ability to create mismatches in the short passing game, but again, that's going to be dependent upon Taylor's ability to speed up the snap-to-release process while maintaining (actually, improving) his ability to accurately get the ball to his targets in stride. Hope that makes sense.

woman quits her day job to breastfeed.....
thebandit27 replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
There were a few lifters at my old gym that shopped on a mom's exchange for breast milk because they believed that the nutrient density and growth hormones made it superior to anything else on which they could get their hands. Of course, they were also on 'roids, so I'm not sure how they could tell. -
I guess when I said it last page it didn't do it for you, huh?

2016 NFL Top 100 - will any Bills make it?
thebandit27 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Blake Bortles is #56?!?! I no longer give any credence to this list at all. None. -
I generally am a huge fan of tapas, because I like variety and pay absolutely zero attention to cost (with twin 3-year olds, we dine out so infrequently that dropping big dollars on a meal is no big deal). I'm more interested in the quality (and the bar specials)...and yeah, I'll post a review afterward. I'm not a huge Black & Blue guy. Good steaks for sure, but nothing outside of what I'd expect at any decent steakhouse. I haven't been to BOSS yet, but that location is a good omen IMO--Fiamma was easily my favorite steak joint when it was open. $26 for a perfectly cooked 8-oz filet? You're joking. Right now, I'd say that Russell's is probably my favorite. The steaks are excellent, and that Dinner For Two menu (which is poorly named since it's a menu grouping for one person) is easily the best deal in town. $39 for a soup/salad, 8-oz steak, side, and small dessert is highway robbery. You can drink an entire bottle of wine (get the Justin Cab) to your head and get out of there for less than $100/person.

If all for more steakhouses. Chophouse is grossly overrated IMO, as places like Russell's, Western Door (though that's in the Seneca Niagara Casino), and EB Green's have better fare at equal (or lesser) prices. I'll definitely try SEAR when it opens. Side note: I'm finally getting out to Aro Tapas in Williamsville next Friday--cannot wait.

Usually, folks will seek to remove Taylor's rushing yards from the discussion if and only if they believe that the Bills' rushing yards (or YPC) was somehow artificially inflated by Taylor's rushing totals. It's a bit of a gloss-over, but it's understandable if someone hasn't looked at the numbers. Now, why someone would then compare those numbers to the rest of the league's rushing totals including QB yards is something I cannot explain.

I don't know if I'd say "best", but for my generation, this was THE literal definition of a one-hit wonder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H5uWRjFsGc

I'd assert that it's not true to any extent. You cannot remove Taylor's rushing yards and then compare Buffalo's ground game to the rest of the league unless you normalize the data by removing ALL QB rushing yards if you're going to go that route. Fortunately, I've already done this: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/185916-bills-working-on-extensions-for-gilmore-maybe-tyrod/?view=findpost&p=3944423 6th in total rushing yards, and 1st (sorry, not 5th) in YPC. Would you mind explaining how you drew the conclusion that running significantly more would result in a higher YPC? It's not readily apparent. As to whether or not it helped us win, well, the results speak for themselves: the team was 0-5 in games where Tyrod Taylor attempted 30 or more passes; they were 8-1 in games in which he attempted fewer than 30 passes. http://www.nfl.com/player/tyrodtaylor/2495240/gamelogs

2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
thebandit27 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
Nice list Blokes I think our boy Gunner Kiel has a chance to make a comeback; I'll be watching closely I'm with you on Mayfield as well The guy I'm most intrigued by is Mahomes--the physical talent is all there; he's got to make faster decisions with the ball and re-point his release a bit to get more control over some of his wild throws. -
For one, he didn't show up hurt--it tightened up and the team decided to hold him out Secondly, I also work with athletes, and I've seen plenty of times that guys simply tweak something and it had zero to do with their level of preparation, so while it may be the case often, it's absolutely nowhere near 100% of the time.
-
I have already shown you that attributing Buffalo's rushing prowess to QB yards is untrue. They rank 5th in YPC and 6th in total yards when QB rushing yards are removed across the league

Bills have new media reporting guidelines

I think very few people appreciate just how phenomenal he was the 2nd half of 2015....these 2 articles give some perspective: http://nysportsbiz.com/2016/01/04/sammy-watkins-arguably-nfls-top-wr-2nd-half-season/ http://www.footballperspective.com/guest-post-adam-harstad-on-sammy-watkins/

Oh absolutely...it was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment.

RD 4, Pick 139: QB Cardale Jones, Ohio State
thebandit27 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except that given where Cardale is in the developmental process, it's quite probable that EJ will still be the first guy off the bench if Tyrod has an injury (**crosses fingers**), so EJ's going to need as much coaching as anyone. Not to mention that Tyrod is hardly a savvy vet at this point, so he'll need coaching points as well. -
...and because Tajh Boyd was a horrendous downfield passer.

RD 4, Pick 139: QB Cardale Jones, Ohio State
thebandit27 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I half agree: he's got as much physical ability as anybody; I've seen him play in person more than once. The arm talent is obvious. I actually wasn't referring to media when I referenced his performance in OTAs. There were multiple accounts from people in attendance (two from this board that PM'd me separately) that aren't media that said he's simply lost out there. Now, that's not to say that he can't eventually become the backup, but he's got a long way to go in terms of getting up to the speed of the game before picking up Roman's offense even becomes his #1 priority. -
RD 1, Pick 19: DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson University
thebandit27 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good grief I hate that stuff. There's no question that Rex didn't get the job done in 2015, and nobody is debating that. There are multiple reasons for it, and his own performance is one of them (some players not buying in is another; other players simply taking too long to digest Rex's complicated playbook is another). I'm absolutely fine with criticizing what deserves to be criticized. Where my grits get overcooked is when I see people failing to recognize (or worse yet--ignoring) what's obvious in order to suit an agenda. -

thebandit27 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on what a few of us have heard out of OTAs, he needs to show a helluva lot more than confidence. He's lost out there right now -

thebandit27 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It only looks bad if you decide to paint it that way. The simple fact is that Mario's effort in 2015 was lacking, to say the least. I have not seen one person, including you, deny that. Should they have paid him $19.9M for the upcoming season based upon that? Should they further have chosen not to add a player that they think can be a stud simply because he could miss 5-6 games as a rookie? Please, since you claim it looks so bad, tell me (a) why they should have paid $19.9M to a guy that clearly didn't try very hard last year, and (b) why they should've passed on a player that they feel will be a cornerstone of their defense for the next several years simply because he could miss 5-6 games of his rookie season? -
Ryan's Defense: DL-men in Coverage
thebandit27 replied to Ronin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, he's right on point, and he provided the relevant data right there in the 2nd linked article. The problem is that you either (a) didn't read the piece he linked, or (b) are refusing to acknowledge that the coverage drop numbers between his 2014 Jets defense and his 2015 Bills defense are almost identical. Part of establishing a credible opinion is actually considering the opposing viewpoints. -

Jerel Worthy Impressing Bills' Coaching Staff

I've said all along that he'd be Wynn's replacement on the 53. If he can finally live up to his draft status it'd be a huge boon for the 5-tech spot
