  1. He looked absolutely fine at his pro day and will be on the field in week 1. That's good enough for me given how special a player he was at UCLA. Easily my #1 prospect in the draft.
  2. Well, to be fair, Myles Jack was easily my pick at the time. I didn't dislike the Shaq pick, but to think that he could be the same level of player as Myles Jack long-term would be folly IMO.
  3. What's silly is the idea that a team needs to have a "1st", "2nd", or "3rd" line. How about we worry about having a top-9 that consists of guys that can produce offense, plus a 4th line that can grind when needed? I could see it happening, but I think it's more likely that they'll move a guy like McCabe plus picks to get a top defenseman to pair with Risto.
  4. I'm sorry, but no, it doesn't Strip all of the chest-thumping away, and what you've got is a team that took a player that they believe will be a stud long-term, and did so knowing that at some point he'd have to have the surgery. They decided he was a good enough player that they were willing to deal with the surgery at some point in the future.
  5. You are NOT a lemming--I learned about sous vide from a 5-star chef who told me that anyone who loves great food is selling themselves short if they don't have one in their home.
  6. If that is indeed Jaqen's music, then I have a question: I don't know why I never noticed this before, but isn't that the same music that is playing at the end of an episode in season 1; in the scene when Ned walks in on Arya getting dancing lessons from Syrio?
  7. If you live in WNY and want some recommendations feel free to PM me
  8. Find a local farm and buy a grass fed cow--best value ever. I've had highlanders, angus, limousin, and a few others, and the beef is phenomenal quality. The price is astonishingly low, especially if you take the organs, bones, and tallow like I do.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w7OgIMMRc4 Not sure why it won't embed, but my pick is GNR Sweet Child o' Mine
  10. Sure, Shady had a TD knocked out of his hands by McCourty; he also made 3 plays to gain 42 of the 56 yards that they gained on their only TD drive--I'd say he made up for it. I could also say that Taylor hitting one of several missed throws on the 4 consecutive punts after their only TD drive would've changed the complexity of the game. The point is that he didn't play well that game, and the issues that he had are ones that he'll need to improve upon if he wants to be able to beat the best teams in this league.
  11. It's Friday dude And yes, I'm certain you knew the name
  12. At the end of the day, it's incredibly hard to consider all of the circumstantial evidence and not conclude that they doctored the game balls. A guy that calls himself "the deflator" illegally takes the balls from the field into a bathroom to use a non-existent urinal and then lies about it. It's also really difficult to accept that Brady didn't know about it given how often he spoke to the equipment guys. The real issue is that Goodell erred in citing Brady's knowledge of the "conspiracy" when suspending him. All he had to do was cite Brady's lack of cooperation and destruction of a cell phone that had been requested for evidence and there'd be nothing to appeal. That's the thing: Rog didn't have to prove it; he just had to avoid saying that it had been proven and stick to what he had in hand (the failure to cooperate with an investigation)
  13. Why is that relevant? They're still a top-6 rushing team in total yards when the stats are normalized to exclude QBs, and they're the top team in YPC under those conditions.
  14. What you two do in your spare time is none of my business
  15. He completed a few throws after getting dinged in the shoulder area, yes. It certainly wasn't enough to negate the fact that they only scored 13 points, and that they didn't make enough plays to win the game. And there are VERY few people that need to have it be HOF or bust. The vast majority of us are cautiously optimistic
  16. He wasn't scared at all. Belichick did what he always does: do his darnedest to take away what the QB does best, so he played a LOT of deep safety help to Sammy's side and played aggressive in the short zones. It's not that Tyrod was scared at all; it was that he couldn't adjust on the fly and hit enough of the midrange throws to move the chains. If that bothered you, then fine, it bothered me too. If, however, he lost you because he looked tentative, well, my opinion is that it's a misdiagnosis of what went down
  17. Sigh. I've been through this so many times before... He answer is 7--the math is quite clear: S-A-M-M-Y 19+1+13+13+25=71 Or 7 1's The answer is 7. /thread
  18. Namesake for The Gordie Howe hat trick and one of the all-time greats. Ranks right up there with Gretzky, Lemiuex, Orr, Dionne, and Richard as the true legends
  19. Does anyone care that he was our best defensive player last season?
  20. If I'm using sous vide, I do the same, but pre-heat a CI or SS pan in my convection oven at 550 and drop my oiled steak in there once it's ready
  21. Side note: Jim Caldwell--the HC of the Lions--looks eerily similar to Doc Louis--Mac's trainer from Mike Tyson's Punch Out
  22. Are we sure this was a heart attack? Sounds more like he got whacked.
