  1. Perhaps, but it suets me just fine.
  2. "Any Player who is notified by the NFL Management Council that he is subject to a fine or suspension for violation of the terms of this Policy may appeal such discipline in writing within five (5) business days of receiving notice from the NFL that he is subject to discipline" https://nflpaweb.blob.core.windows.net/media/Default/PDFs/Active%20Players/Drug_SOA_Policy_9-29-14.pdf Have to believe that deadline has elapsed since he found out Saturday. Assuming it hasn't, and he filed this week, his appeal hearing would be 4 Tuesdays out, which would be 9/13. That would allow him to play in (most likely) weeks 1 and 2, but would put him out for Weeks 3-7 unless his suspension is reduced.
  3. The only reason not to appeal is if he lied about missing a test and really tested positive.
  4. His efficiency is pretty lousy. As a side note: has anyone else seen the advanced stats site "Player Profiles"? Pretty solid stuff here: http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/chris-hogan/ Just for fun, and not for comparison's sake, look at Sammy's efficiency: http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/sammy-watkins/
  5. Funny video. Side note: as a guy that works with athletes, I am constantly amazed at how many of them eat junk food on a regular basis. Doritos? Turtles? C'mon man! I'm all for treats, but for young guys trying to carve out a career, it's crazy how often I see it. Then we wonder how guys like Brady--who are afraid to even eat tomatoes because some folks have adverse reactions to nightshades--manage to play well into their late 30's. Chip Kelly did a lot of things wrong, but his focus on nutrition is one that I believe more teams should become imperious about.
  6. WOW...Marcell's only reason not to appeal is if he's lying about missing the test.
  7. Good grief no. To start, you need 3 starting-caliber corners in this league, or teams will pick you apart. Add to that the fact that only Gilmore would be making starting-corner money through 2018 at the earliest, and then consider that NRC's contract only runs through 2017--there's no reason to let any of their corners go, let alone their #1.
  8. Timing is everything with the NFL--does this make anyone wonder if perhaps Marcell didn't miss a test, but rather tested positive, and they're reducing Bell's suspension to send a message to Dareus? Probably not the case, but you never know...
  9. Hmmm...precedent for Dareus should he choose to appeal?
  10. Probably not--you would most likely lose blitzing ability. My overarching point was that I think Darby is probably the best suited slot corner on the team aside from Robey, and that I think Seymour is better suited to the boundary than he is to the slot, but again that's up for debate.
  11. Absolutely. Darby isn't eligible for a new deal until after 2017 at the earliest (due to CBA restrictions), and Seymour isn't eligible for a new deal until after 2018. With the contract structure I've proposed for Gilmore, he'd be guaranteed to be here through 2018 at least, and a contract extension for Darby wouldn't kick in until after 2018 anyway.
  12. He may be able to handle the slot corner position if his play against the run can improve...my opinion, as of now, is that he should be the primary backup on the boundary. If NRC were to miss any time, I think I'd bring Seymour into the game in nickel situations on the boundary and kick Darby into the slot.
  13. - Buffalo wins with the run--Miami did nothing to strengthen their leaky run defense in the offseason, and the loss of Lamar Miller will hurt their ground game as well. - Definitely Marcell Dareus against Laremy Tunsil - Pound on the Dolphin front-7. Roman's pin/pull scheme proved to be too much for Miami to keep up with twice last year, so they need to stay on top of them. In the passing game, abuse Miami's idea that they can cover Sammy Watkins with Byron Maxwell Defensively, put pressure in Tannehill's face; he simply can't play against it.
  14. Coming from anyone else I'd think they might be serious...and silly

  16. Like I said, watch the Elite Squad movies.
  17. That whole movie was classic, though it always makes me want chorizo and eggs.
  18. Didn't Rulon Gardner win gold in 2000?
  19. 1. Dan Carpenter 2. Social Media 3. Last of the Mohicans--this is fact, not opinion 4. The opening play from the Bills' 2015 season--where Matt Cassel takes the snap, fakes to Tyrod, and flips to Shady who runs for a loss. 5. Dana Carvey
  20. I was 5, and I was playing in my room when my dad burst in and told me: "son, we're finally going to have a good football team again--Jim Kelly is coming to town."
  21. FYI--The county named it after Ralph, and he authorized the FO to pursue a naming rights deal back in 2012.
  22. Here's my most recent shot at a contract that I think would get it done: 5 years, $70.75M total value. $39M fully guaranteed at signing (that's $2.5M more in fully gtd money than Josh Norman). Season Base Signing Bonus Misc. Bonus Cap Hit Dead Hit Savings 2016 $2M (gtd) $5M (gtd) $0.75 $7.75M $39M -$31.25M 2017 $4M (gtd) $5M (gtd) $0.75 $9.75M $32M -$22.25M 2018 $8M (gtd) $5M (gtd) $0.75 $13.75M $23M -$9.25M 2019 $12M (gtd*) $5M (gtd) $0.75 $17.75M $10M $7.75M 2020 $16M $5M (gtd) $0.75 $21.75M $5M $16.75M * Base salary for 2019 becomes fully guaranteed on 3rd day of 2019 league year The above structure allows the agent to report that the contract has $51M in "guaranteed" money, which means he got more than the $50M "guaranteed" that Norman got, so in all ways the contract surpasses that of Norman. It also allows for Gilmore to be released/extended/restructured after the 2018 season, which is also the final year of Darby's deal. Assuming the team can sign Darby to an extension prior to 2018--one that kicks in after the 2018 season--they should be able to lock up their cornerback duo for the next 3 seasons without having to pay both a massive cap number in the same year. Also, the above contract would keep Gilmore's cap number below that of the 2016 franchise tag number for CBs through the 2018 season, which is phenomenal value for a #1 CB.
  23. Isn't that deal for 20+ years though?
