  1. I'd take Tim Lelito as our backup interior guy in a heartbeat.
  2. Don't worry, it's a well-worn motor pathway.
  3. Honestly: is that what you think Kaep and the like are protesting, that we still use Francis Scott Key's poem as our anthem? Or do you think it's just as they say: that they're protesting the oppression of folks of color?
  4. 1.5 sacks and 17 solo tackles isn't bad for a part-time guy whose job is to occupy blockers. FWIW, he also graded out quite well in advanced stat metrics like PFF.
  5. Anderson has 11 catches for 203 yards and 2 TDs in 3 games for the Jets thus far...he's looking every bit like an NFL receiver.
  6. The backup interior job is one where you could potentially find your guy in someone's cut list. It's not exactly an enviable situation, but I could see a guy like Brian Schwenke, Travis Swanson, Evan Smith, or Corey Linsley being available
  7. He sounded hacked off about not getting playing time in the preseason, so maybe we can use schadenfreude to help lure him here
  8. I'm skeptical of anyone that NE cuts, simply because Belichick usually has a good handle on when guys are close to the cliff production-wise. That said, if the team believes that he can contribute snaps at the nose until Dareus comes back, there's no downside at this point.
  9. Thanks for the link, but there's no control for causality in many of those studies. The only recent one I've seen with control for causality is this one, which shows that minorities are more likely to be treated aggressively, but less likely to be victim to shooting or deadly force: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1850103681877746&id=1452262631661855&refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2Frealnflnewsandupdates%2Fvideos%2F1850103681877746%2F&_rdr Taken on a case-by-case basis, the investigations have mostly been fair IMO. The sensationalizing of it is what causes issues IMO.
  10. That same cast of characters (with Manny instead of Hughes) just handed Washington's starters a whoopin' without their starting defensive backfield
  11. That's where I am as well...there's zero evidence that the issue of police brutality is unique to any race--it's pretty much distributed (statistically) in proportion to the general population
  12. $10.5M AAV for Tavon Austin???????? That's...just...wow
  13. That's fair. I don't think we're above change, nor should we be. Just FYI: He's basically saying that blacks get murdered and the nation doesn't care based on his quotes on PFT.
  14. There are a few examples of inequality, and it's worth pointing out . Do you think that's what Kaep is standing (or sitting) for, and why he posts a picture of the confederate flag and the American flag and claims they're the same?
  15. I don't care if he didn't stand; his right. The idea that black people are systematically oppressed, however, is ridiculous when it comes from a black guy that gets paid millions to be lousy at his job. The nation doesn't oppress minorities; individuals are responsible for racism on a case-by-case basis. It's sad and stupid, but it does happen. Statements like Kaep's dilute the discussion and undermine the credibility of serious racial discrimination.
  16. Actually, I felt that was one thing he did well last night. The OL was atrocious (looking at you, Ryan Groy and Fernando Velasco), and I'm usually not a "blame the OL" guy. Cordy needs to be on the field week 1 or we're in real trouble
  17. Nailed it IMO And this is especially pertinent coming from a guy that was quite down on EJ.
  18. I care nothing about the preseason. As an NFL fan that watches every game every week, Hochuli is an embarrassment to the game. His crew calls the most penalties every week, reverses the fewest calls every year, and are wrong more than any other crew. It's awful.
  19. Ed Hochuli continues to be the worst official in the NFL And it's not even close
  20. So a rookie with Crohn's compares to a 4-year veteran that is presumably healthy? Khalil Mack has made a lot of tackles look bad; he's a great player. I wouldn't put a lot of stock into PFF grades; they are often loud wrong and have even occasioned to totally contradict themselves.
  21. As though the final 9 games of last season weren't evidence of that, right?
  22. Sammy is easily the best of the 2014 draft on a per-target basis, and it's by a significant margin. I realize that below is primarily a fantasy football site, but it gives outstanding context to how guys perform relative to opportunity: http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/sammy-watkins/ http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/mike-evans/ http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/odell-beckham/ http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/brandin-cooks/ http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/kelvin-benjamin/ http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/jordan-matthews/ http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/allen-robinson/ http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/jarvis-landry/ http://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/martavis-bryant/
  23. Poison pill offer sheets are outlawed by the CBA. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/14/poison-pill-for-offer-sheets-removed-from-cba/ If he's that good that a team would want to sign him away as a RFA, then yes, you could probably recoup a first or second round pick for him. Most likely though, you can tender him at the 1st or 2nd-round level and have the right of first refusal, which means that a team would have to both pay him big and give up a pick. Very few teams are willing to do so anymore.
  24. Nah--Jameis Winston has both as well So too do Sammy Watkins and Khalil Mack. It's very common.
