  1. Signing with NO
  2. I suspect that as well--if I were him, I'd be looking to go to a team like SF or Chi, where he can compete to be a placeholder for a developing rookie QB and hope to showcase himself as a potential starter.
  3. I agree with that. He's still a 60% passer who can extend plays with his legs and regularly hit both the seam throws and deep patterns. To me, that's classic backup-type material.
  4. I'll hazard a guess that they go after one of the McCown boys. Josh could be had if Cleveland is ready to make Kessler the backup; same can be said for Luke if NO is ready to roll with Grayson backing up Brees.
  5. Um, what? EJ - 39/70 (55.7%), 381 yds, 2 TDs and 1 INT against 2nd stringers Cardale - 17/33 (51.5%), 245 yds, 1 TD and 1 INT against 3rd stringers That you think they look close to the same is laughable, but not nearly as laughable as believing that a guy with 8 college starts and zero preseason experience running Greg Roman's offense with the 1's (let alone regular season experience) is ready to assume the backup role. Just no.
  6. Not sure I agree. Let's suppose that Tyrod were to miss 4 games--I like EJ's chances of getting us to 0.500 over those 4 games more than I do for anyone else that would be available at this point.
  7. And who would be the backup QB? The 4th round rookie with 8 college starts?
  8. I'm sure you've thought this through, so I have to ask... - What draft pick has Whaley shied away from trading? He moved Alonso and they picked him the same draft as EJ. - Who have they overpaid? - Why worry about a conditional 2018 pick that may not even get traded if McCray doesn't make the final 53?
  9. I think he's saying that, by comparison, this isn't the world crashing down around us
  10. And go with a rookie 4th round pick with a total of 8 college starts as the backup?
  11. He sure looked good in their last preseason game. Good pocket awareness, accurate, decisive. Hope it's not too serious.
  12. I have 3-year old twins at home, I'm familiar with this game.
  13. I actually couldn't care less who's right or wrong about which UDFAs make which team. I said the other day that I will remain unsurprised if and when my boy Robby Anderson, who went undrafted out of Temple, makes the Jets regular season roster. Certainly doesn't make me a genius, and it doesn't mean that I knew he would (despite that I predicted he'd be on an NFL roster even when he went undrafted).
  14. No, it was a prediction. Apparently you'd like me to believe that you don't know the difference. I don't care if it was right or wrong; my point at the time was quite clear and relevant. I'm sure, despite the snark, that you understood it then just as I'm sure you do now.
  15. Varying degrees. Arizona featured Bucannon as a "moneybacker" last year, and their pass defense finished 8th in yards allowed, 8th in QB rating allowed, and 10th in YPA allowed. LA, on the other hand, featured Barron as a hybrid guy last year, and their pass defense finished 23rd in yards allowed, 16th in QB rating allowed, and 15th in YPA allowed. Not at all. See, this is where you'd get credit if you phrased it as a prediction, because that's all it was (and hardly a bold one considering that he was an UDFA). This shtick, however...
  16. Some teams have done that type of thing with guys like Mark Barron and Deone Bucannon
  17. Still think his best fit would be a part-time contributor as a Will.
  18. No, it's like someone thought it, believed it, or even felt nearly certain of it. You did not, by any definition of the word "know", know that. Period.
  19. No question in my mind that they'll keep 5 WRs, and that they'll be Watkins/Woods/Goodwin/Salas/Powell
  20. It takes a while to gain acceptance in the athletic world, but I can assure you that it is catching on--Seattle has been using a version of the program for 2 years now. Also, there's a clinic in Pittsford that does this type of work...
  21. Okay, at least that makes sense. I generally dislike it when folks question the crux of an argument simply because of the source
  22. Some of the recent research that I've read about ACL injuries is quite interesting: that it's a general body-misfiring issue that produces too much force on a non-load-bearing tissue that causes the injury. Here's some of the stuff that a small high school has implemented, and they're seeing incredible reduction in non-contact injuries: https://www.freelapusa.com/3-reasons-why-activation-is-a-game-changer/
  23. But that's my point: the article was about Curt Schilling's opinion regarding the way two different situations are being treated by the media, and it has merit. Just feels an awful lot like tossing the baby out with the bathwater.
  24. Why is what Curt Schilling is saying disgraceful? Did you read the article? That's not very open-minded, which is surprising from someone who wants others to be open-minded about his position.
  25. Didn't someone link Variety earlier? Let's focus on the argument instead of taking issue with the source, because all sources are biased to an extent.
