  1. Wonder if there is indeed a suspension looming.
  2. Are you really going to go down this rabbit hole? It's not even debatable that rookies (both QBs and offensive line) struggle to pick up Rex's pressure packages. Go back to last season and look at which teams and players struggled against Buffalo's D--you won't be surprised.
  3. Hey, I think Cardale has all the tools to be a better QB than EJ, so I can't fault anyone for being excited about him. I cannot possibly fathom, however, how anyone could look at his game performances and think he's ready to play in the NFL, let alone ready to overtake a guy that's started and won games in this league.
  4. Agreed! The year in the system is huge, and for me, I felt leading up to the 2015 draft that the best thing for Miller would be his first full offseason in an NFL training program. He was "country strong" at Louisville; he needs to be "functionally strong" to improve his game. His ability to re-anchor against the bull rush makes it evident to me that he's been working hard this offseason.
  5. I don't understand what's wrong with the thread; it's a prediction that's hardly off the wall and contains an interesting question. The title is a bit provocative, but I'm fine with it. Indeed. They have a tradeoff this year since they're getting their RB stable back at full health, but have lose the left side of their OL.
  6. Thanks for the head's up! Since that's the case, I really hope it's at the expense of one of the FBs--I like the idea of keeping 11 DBs.
  7. Sure, that's entirely possible. Miami @ Seattle is almost assuredly a loss NE @ Arizona sans Brady is likely a loss as well I could see both of the other games going either way. The Jets' D is good enough to give Cinci trouble on the road, but not sure Fitz and Co. can outscore them. I actually think that Buffalo probably has the best shot to win in week 1 given how bad Baltimore's aging defense has been the last 2 seasons, and that they have such a young offensive line that will have to deal with Rex's often-confusing pressure packages. The Ravens will definitely need to be able to run the ball well; something that no team has done against Buffalo's starters this preseason.
  8. I struggled with keeping a 2nd FB, a 5th EDGE defender, or a 6th safety. I decided on the FB because (a) Gronk can also play some TE and (b) between Anderson, Blanton, LorAx, Lattimore, and Easley (if he ever gets healthy), the team has quite a few core special teamers. I hadn't heard that--I really liked Lattimore in last night's game.
  9. Here's my final: QB (3) - T. Taylor, E. Manuel, C. Jones RB (4) - L. McCoy, M. Gilislee, R. Bush, J. Williams FB (2) - J. Felton, G. Gronkowski WR (5) - S. Watkins, R. Woods, M. Goodwin, G. Salas, W. Powell TE (3) - C. Clay, J. Dray, N. O'Leary OT (4) - C. Glenn, J. Mills, C. Kouandjio, S. Henderson OG (2) - R. Incognito, J. Miller C (2) - E. Wood, P. Lewis K (1) - D. 10. Doubling down instead of owning it, huh? No, that's not what I'm saying, and anyone that's watched the two players can see the obvious differences. EJ started 30 games in college (including 4 bowl games) across 4 seasons, and was a career 67% passer; Cardale started 8 games across 2 seasons (1 bowl game) and was a career 62% passer. One of them ran an offense with some pro-style facets to it; the other ran Urban Meyer's offense. EJ has played against 1's and 2's this preseason, has lead 5 scoring drives, and has looked slightly improved from where he was least year; Cardale has played exclusively against 3's and has lead a total of 1 scoring drive while completing fewer than 50% of his passes. You were wrong about Cardale because you chose to base your opinion off of the fact that you don't like EJ. Thankfully, our coaches are not so misguided.
  11. He just isn't ready. Slow to release, inaccurate, timing is way off, etc. He's got a long way to go before regular season play is an option
  12. Watching this game, I am flabbergasted that anyone thought Cardale was ready to be anything other than a 3rd QB this season
  13. He's been BAD in the preseason too
  14. Bold NFL Prediction: Carson Palmer falls off the proverbial cliff and takes Arizona's offense with him Bold Bills Prediction: Bills' defense finishes in the top 7 in points/game allowed
  15. Ravens-W I like the matchup of Buffalo's offense against Baltimore's defense Jets-W As has been said, Rex has Fitzy's number Cardinals-L Despite how Carson Palmer has looked this preseason, I think it's too early for his demise Patriots-W Rex owns rookie QBs Rams-W Probably a low-scoring slug-fest, but Buffalo has the better playmakers Niners-W I fully expect the '9ers to be horrendous Dolphins-W Buffalo has been their boss for the past 3 years Patriots-L I can't see Belichick losing to Rex twice, let alone with Brady in the fold this time Seahawks-L Great teams struggle to win in Seattle; on MNF, it's not happening Bengals-L I've flip-flopped on this one several times, but I'll say loss Jaguars-W It'll be a different game when Buffalo isn't missing 4 starters on offense Raiders-L Tough contest, but I'll give it to the home team on a coast-to-coast road trip Steelers-L I don't see too many defenses slowing them down Browns-W Buffalo's run game should be too much for Cleveland's front 7 Dolphins-W What can I say? I'm really down on Miami this year Jets-W Turnabout is fair play, but I think Buffalo gets it done on the road with playoffs on the line
  16. No sweat...figured you'd want to know
  17. Great stuff Blokes. Minor detail: Byron Jones was a 1st round pick
  18. What's the point of this article? We had 2 black QBs in 2013 (EJ and Thad) We had 3 black QBs last year (EJ, Tyrod, and Josh Johnson) We have 3 black QBs now. Oh, and just for good measure, the Bills made James Harris the first black player ever to start a season at QB back in 1969. NE does right now (Edelman/Amendola/Hogan).
  19. My latest update: QB (3) - T. Taylor, E. Manuel, C. Jones RB (4) - L. McCoy, M. Gilislee, R. Bush, J. Williams FB (1) - J. Felton WR (5) - S. Watkins, R. Woods, M. Goodwin, G. Salas, W. Powell TE (3) - C. Clay, J. Dray, B. Annen OT (4) - C. Glenn, J. Mills, C. Kouandjio, S. Henderson OG (2) - R. Incognito, J. Miller C (2) - E. Wood, P. Lewis K (1) - D. Carptenter P (1) - C. Schmidt LS (1) - G. Sanborn DL (4) - C. Bryant, A. Washington, J. Worthy, L. Edwards DT (2) - K. Williams, C. Walker EDGE (5) - J. Hughes, M. Lawson, L. Alexander, K. Biermann, B. Albright LB (4) - P. Brown, Z. Brown, B. Spikes, R. Humber CB (6) - S. Gilmore, R. Darby, N. Robey-Coleman, C. White, K. Seymour, S. Moore S (5) - A. Williams, C. Graham, R. Blanton, C. Anderson, D. Williams PUP - S. Lawson, M. Easley RES/SUS - M. Dareus IR - R. Ragland, I, Enemkpali, C. Gragg NFI - K. Listenbee
  20. Did you miss that he's won games in this league? True story
  21. He's not even ready to face backups in the preseason. The other guy has started and won games in this league. No comparison
  22. He's certainly no Tyrod, but I think he showed he can hit a deep ball or two to keep defenses honest.
  23. If you thought EJ was ugly in Jacksonville last year, what do you think is going to happen when Cardale--who has never played against anything but 3rd stringers in the preseason and started a total of 8 college games--gets in there? Personally, I'm all about wanting my backup to try to win the game, not gain experience.
  24. I'll bet it came with some assurances that he'll get a brand new deal next offseason, because $10M is still remarkably underpaid for the most productive WR in the league.
