  1. I think Buffalo's run game gets things moving, and they manage to hit a big play or two in the passing game. On defense, Rex's scheme manages to pressure Flacco into consistent incompletions in his first regular season action since his injury, limiting Batlimore's ability to sustain drives. I'll go 23-17, Bills.
  2. I think it's crazy to expect the 2016 Bills to have any record based upon what the previous 15 seasons have produced. The last 15 years have nothing to do with this team. Now, if someone looks at this roster, with this coaching staff, and believes they'll be 6-10, so be it (I don't)
  3. Yes, it's rather infuriating to watch him eschew the head-up-wrap-up tackling style that's been taught by every defensive coach over the last 45 years. That said, he can cover, and I'm willing to give up some wrap-up ability provided that (a) he continues to cover well and (b) he can put himself in the right position to at least turn plays back inside from the boundary.
  4. That was going to be my pick! Instead, I'll go Panthers over Steelers
  5. This is most definitely the fast food industry's answer to the $15/hour minimum wage. I've used the fast-lane kiosks at Panera, and it's terrific.
  6. That's a fair point about his ability to stay healthy. I'm not sure it entirely flies in the face of tagging him--my primary concern is that his injury issues will be exacerbated by a lack of offseason work should he decide not to sign the tag right away. I think the only long-term deal that makes sense would be a 5-year deal that he never sees the final 2 years of...I've drawn it up here before, but the basic idea is that his cap hit never gets above $13M in the first 3 years. The big perk there is that--assuming Darby plays well enough to earn his 2nd contract--Darby's extension would kick in in year 4 of Gilmore's deal, so they'll never be stuck paying 2 premium CB salaries. I agree that it's not an easy situation, but that it's definitely better for the team the longer they can keep him here.
  7. Look below the chart--it lists all the suspensions for 2015. You can easily change the year with the pull-down menu. I don't have time to analyze the data so that'll have to do for now....maybe if I get to it tonight after the kiddos are in bed.
  8. It's really not a big deal--I don't get offended. I didn't say it was acceptable because other teams have had guys suspended. I said that the Bills haven't historically had any greater trouble controlling their players than the rest of the league. I would rather see a team with no suspensions as well; I just don't think it's realistic.
  9. About median with respect to the rest of the NFL (data posted above). Which one? Mine, or the one that preceded it: Are you shocked that you didn't catch bees with this bit of honey? Also, any response on the actual data? To be fair, I did respond to the initial #wallbash in-kind
  10. Keep the insults coming; they're entertaining The reason this team hasn't been to the playoffs in a decade-and-a-half is because they've had neither the QB nor the coaching. If you look at the data, there's zero data to correlate the Bills with a higher-than-average number of on-field suspensions that would adversely affect on-field performance. That's a stretch at best, and an outright fallacy at worst. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/fines-suspensions/2015/suspensions/ Fun fact: the Seahawks in 2013 had more players suspended for PEDs than any other team in a single season in NFL history--and they won the Super Bowl
  11. It's not a "try", it's a simple question of "are you complaining about something that isn't unique to your team, and isn't a result of drafting high-risk players at all?" If you're willing to show me any NFL team that hasn't had a player suspended at any point in the last few years, then you'll have a salient point that one suspension is too much. Otherwise, you're basically complaining about the NFL, and not the Bills. Maybe all of that #wallbashing isn't doing your thought process any good...
  12. Do you have any context that would indicate whether or not the Bills are even statistically higher than many (if not mos) NFL teams in terms of suspensions to players they've drafted over a specific time period?
  13. Isn't that outside the bounds of his suspension?
  14. Assuming that means that rookie Kamalei Correa will start in his place?
  15. Oh I know--hence the laughing emoji thingy
  16. I don't know that he had any magical effect on Cutler, but I do know that his sacks and turnovers went way down, and that his passer rating went way up. He also had a career-high YPA last year. As to why I like Gase: he's creative. He knows how to mix concepts into his passing game to put the defense at a disadvantage. Here's a great breakdown from Mike Martz on what Gase does well: http://mmqb.si.com/2014/12/02/nfl-mike-martz-adam-gase-mike-mccoy-mike-mccarthy-best-offensive-minds
  17. Actually, yes. I think Gase is a heady coach, and I am surprised that this is his approach along the offensive front. Maybe it stems from not wanting to upset the apple cart in his first offseason as a head coach.
  18. Aside from yardage, he's below-average in nearly every metric. 20th in completion percentage 28th in red zone completion percentage 18th in completion percentage beyond 20 yards 21st in passer rating 27th in total QBR 16th in YPA I'm sure some of that is him getting killed; I'm also sure that some of that is on him. I suppose I should've thrown "(or lack thereof)" in there for clarity
  19. Which, by the way, upsets me from a practical standpoint. You're taking your LT of the future and stunting his growth by making him learn a new position, just so that you can move him back to LT whenever you part ways with Albert (which is probably next season). The irony, of course, is that Albert played LG in college, so if anyone should be moving positions, why not the guy that actually has experience playing there? IMO, it's a dumb coaching move.
  20. I thought he was starting at LT with Eugene Monroe's retirement? Isn't Alex Lewis--a fellow rookie--starting at LG?
  21. I'll vouch for K-9, as he was squarely in the corner of "Mario is dogging it" when many others (including myself) defended him. I didn't pick up on hit until the back-to-back efforts against Washington and Philadelphia.
  22. And he's lucky that he doesn't have to face Shaq Lawson again this weekend
  23. True--though he's looked like that every preseason I can remember.
