  1. He played 8 snaps on defense prior to last Sunday. I saw the game (I generally watch every game each week)--he was instinctive, active, and made some nice stops.
  2. I'll stick with my guy Mahomes as being the most talented of the bunch.
  3. Hmmm.... Karlos Williams Sr ‏@Karlos_29_SR 22h22 hours ago The return is gonna be so sweet
  4. Not at the time of the draft--both of those ships had sailed. At the time of the draft, they had Kolb and Tarvaris Jackson under contract and that was it. Time may end up proving that a trade-down would've been better in 2014; at the time of the draft (again), Sammy was clear-and-away the #1 offensive prospect.
  5. I can't get on board with the idea that drafting a QB was the wrong move. If they didn't do so, they'd have had the choice of Jeff Tuel and Thad Lewis all season once Kolb went down.
  6. Go back to asterisk town; tell 'em we sent ya
  7. My main concern with Wentz was his adjustment to the speed of the game. He was never a quick-release guy at NDSU, preferring to hold the ball to let things develop. Jumping all the way from FCS play to the NFL, my worry was that it would take him a while to get acclimated to how much he'd have to speed up the process in the NFL. I'm very impressed with how he's done so, but the real test will come 6-8 weeks from now, when NFL DCs have a batch of film on him and start making an effort to take away what he's been comfortable doing.
  8. That was at least partially true in 2013, but by mid 2014 he had really developed as a defender.
  9. I do this as well That doesn't really surprise me--he's been phenomenal
  10. Sure you can! I can name at least 3 groups of people that do it all the time!
  11. That is funny, but unfortunately it's untrue IMO--if they're here legally, then he can't do anything to them.
  12. Oh I know...I'm simply trying to understand why anyone would make that suggestion, and figured that I'd include it in my reply to Tuel
  13. So if I understand this right, the theory is that Sammy isn't very good, and is injured. Because his specific ailment has a history of a full recovery, we can therefore fleece other teams--who must be stupid--to take this not very good player off of our hands for a pick? It would also logically follow that the pick would have to be a mid-round pick, because hey, he's not very good, which is why we're trading him. Well, riddle me this: why would we take a mid-round pick for our #1 WR, while we have him at less than market value, and can simply let him go after 2 more years and probably get a 3rd-round compensatory pick for him at that time?
  14. I'm certainly no Trump apologist; I don't like him. That sounds more stupid that racist. I think he was trying to imply that Curiel was stumping for Mexico because of his background, which, while stupid, isn't racist. He's just a terrible speaker and has zero social awareness. But I could be wrong. Either way, I have no desire to defend Trump, so forgive me if I don't do so much further
  15. Moreover, it would be patently ridiculous to fire a guy over his political leaning. No. Doubt.
  16. Exactly. I'm 100% sure that Rex wouldn't cut a player because they supported Hillary, so they have no place letting his political leaning affect their preparation or performance. I try not to, but it finds me nonetheless. If you want to post a direct, overtly racist quote from him, I'll append my opinion.
  17. Added a few important words there. I also have never seen Trump say anything racist. Insensitive for sure, but not racist. And for the record, no, I don't like Trump.
  18. Why would you trade your number one receiver when you have him under contract for 2 more years at well-below-market value? There is not a single good reason to do so IMO
  19. 1) he was the 19th overall pick 2) nobody said to keep him out of the lineup; several folks have said to dress him and ease him into action 3) why knock the guy with 4 sacks in 4 games out of the lineup?
  20. One team will score a TD on a busted coverage, and that team will win the game 17-16
  21. I'd rate High Tension as a 6/10 on the intensity scale. Inside is an 8.5, and is more stylized. Martyrs is a 10, and is completely raw. Brutal, brutal films, but incredibly well made
  22. Technically, we haven't run the wildcat much. We've run the single wing. The "wildcat" is termed because a boundary player streaks toward the single wing and arrives at the snap, creating a mesh point where the ball can be handed off or kept. The player in motion is the "wildcat". Don't think we've done that much --if at all. I shall now set my formation stuffiness aside. That said, if we want it to continue to be effective, we'll need to add a wrinkle where the ball is thrown. Put something on film for which other teams must account. EDIT: and I now see that much of this was discussed in the linked article above. I'll shut up now
  23. You folks need to branch out to more foreign films. The French...wow, they make some really disturbing films. High Tension Inside Martyrs All would make most dudes weak in the knees.
