I've done it on this board many times. By the way, who's the guy that's posted actual clips from Rex's playbook to show the assignment on the Torrey Smith play, and who's the guy in here throwing insults? I think we can tell who actually knows their stuff versus who's a troll For everyone else, above is the clip--man coverage

McCoy asks Bills fans to be respectful of Kaepernick
thebandit27 replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, since I never said anything about fascism, you're arguing that point against the wrong person. I also never said that police killing people isn't a problem; what I said is that the statistics don't support the assertion that police are targeting and killing unarmed black people and getting rewarded for it, which is what Kaep said. I also never said that he couldn't protest as he is; not even close actually. I said that the centerpiece of his argument is something that is very difficult to support statistically, and so people have a hard time taking him seriously. I have a hard time seeing him as a hero for kneeling during a song. Pat Tillman was a hero. Mohammed Ali was a hero. Joe Delaney was a hero. This guy? Not in my opinion. -
Thanks. Regarding the bold, I'll say only this (since my browser won't let me post the image from the playbook that shows it quite clearly): watch the immediate post-snap action of each corner and LB. There's only one guy that isn't playing man coverage, so it stands to reason that he's the one that screwed up. I'll be watching the All-22 when it comes out, and I'll also be paying specific attention to what guys like @yardsperpass and Cover-1 have to say...I'll put my money down that they agree with me on this one.

Another brilliant defense of your point! You're very, very good at this...seriously.

Upon further review, it looks like the call was one of Rex's "0 Train" calls, in which the corners will group to one side against a bunch/trips set. I'll try to post the image from the playbook if I can find a way to do it... In these packages, the corners are all in straight man coverage. So, if you've watched the play, and you know who lined up over whom, then you know who blew the coverage. I won't say who, because I might be accused of "fan boy love". Well-stated on all fronts.

If they were to let Gilmore walk, I'd hope they could secure a guy like Alford in FA. I'm not quite comfortably with Tankersly or any of the college guys yet--not with knowing how Rex plays his boundary guys.
-
See above--there are about 6 different play call sets that could've been in play here, and under each one there are 16 different coverage combinations. Let's not let appearances be deceiving.
-
Nice job defending your point; you've clearly supported your argument well.

RE: the Torrey Smith play, based on the front-7 look and the pre-snap coverage look, I'm guessing that the called coverage was 46 Zorro (from Rex's playbook). If I'm correct, then that means that the inside corner (Gilmore) has the Curl Flat assignment, and that it's Cover 3, with Darby and the 2 safeties taking the deep 1/3. See the upper-right frame below:

I wasn't speaking to the point that it may be tough to re-sign him and that it may not happen; more responding to the narrative that he somehow is always allowing big plays as some have suggested.

Blokes you conniving bastard! That was my sleeper -
Went ahead an edited that for ya Yesterday's miscommunication was the first TD he allowed this season (again, assuming it was his responsibility). If you have to look at a game from 4 weeks back in order to try to justify a point about a single play, then does your point really hold water?
-
Agreed.

See how you need to broaden the scope to say "unjust policing" in order to make it fit? Kaep was very clear: murder in the streets and then getting paid leave. That's what I have an issue with; it's not the de facto protest -
It's truly incredible, isn't it? We don't bat an eyelash when a journeyman like Brandon LaFell abuses a pro bowler like Malcolm Butler in the red zone yesterday, but Gilmore gives up his first TD of the season yesterday (assuming it was his mistake, which it most likely was), and he's not worth re-signing. Amazing.
-
Agreed, though not as egregious an error as paying Terrance McGee $7M/year while allowing Jabari Greer to walk for $5.5M/year.
-
No chance. He'll get a bigger deal than Jenkins got with NYG

3-2 but Tyrod has had 4 bad games this season

I'm 100% certain that he wasn't oblivious; there was clearly a miscommunication. My money is on Gilmore thinking he had safety help; no way to know who's mistake that was. I do like that it's somehow "another" game where he gets burned--has he even allowed a TD this season? Spoiler alert: the answer is no.

He continues to make "cops are targeting and killing unarmed black men and nobody cares" the centerpiece of his argument, and since it's difficult to statistically support that narrative, some folks have a really hard time taking him seriously. Protest all you want, Kaep, just build your stance on a foundation of truth, and I think you'll find much more empathy. -
