Of course the media has over reacted to the story but it's the inevitable result of Diggs' offseason of cryptic social media activity and McDermott's "very concerned" response to a question. They can say they want to keep it in house but what little bit of detail they have shared with the public is just fuel for the media speculation fire. Josh is 100% right about the media but it's not like he can call out his HC and teammate and blame them for being the cause of it. That would be even a bigger media story. My sense is that some media types are more thin skinned than they ought to be.

maybe the first part is a Stefon Diggs style cryptic statement but that's the best I got. The second part is about Chad Kelly, starting QB of the CFL's Toronto Argonauts. I too enjoy watching Chad play. CBS Sports Network has many of the CFL games including the one on Monday. There is also a streaming option available in the US called CFL+.

If it happened it was certainly less publicized than before. Entering the offseason, Josh was to avoid elbow surgery by allowing it some time for rest and recovery. However long that may have lasted. I had ignored this thread based on the title. Reaction to that kind of off season rumor chasing holds little of my interest. But, it has evolved into some more interesting territory. I'll add this. Josh's 2019 season was considered a mixed bag where many were not convinced he had the right stuff and then saw 2020 as his breakout. some still talk like the bills made the playoffs in spite of Josh's play. When you look at his 2019 splits fourth quarters, road games, redzone, and 3rd and long situations Josh was among the best in the league. My bias is that these are the type of situations where the QB "it factor" is revealed. I think it is interesting that 2022 Josh fell short of 2019 Josh in those 4 splits, most notably redzone. I think the sense he took a step back originates from there. That and the fact that his last game was a dud.

Two things to consider. New stadium construction is likely to stress the typical parking situation in a major way so check back closer to game day. A sneaky move is to head south then east and through the nearly empty downtown. Park at Bert's bikes at Southwestern across from ECC where there is a traffic light to exit. Turn right, right again at Big Tree and then to route 5. It's the naked bootleg of routes to the airport.

I think this may be it but I would suggest a different causation than the play call. Stefon knows how the offense is designed, how Josh is coached to run it, how he should be used within any particular game plan, whether he is legit open or not and if the ball should come to him. Half way through the season, Josh injures his elbow and the offensive line has periods of poor pass protection, yet Josh holds the ball, targets deeper routes to players not named Diggs and the offense seems less efficient and becomes more boom or bust. Dorsey is unable to bend Josh's play style to fit what is actually designed and Diggs is frustrated by it. Thus Josh saying he personally needs to be a better QB and teammate. In essence, apologizing for being stubborn. So, is it Dorsey play calls or is it Josh's deviation from them in his decision making?

Neat card trick Josh does about 40 minutes in. He claims to be quite the pick pocket too. Skills like that need to be applied to some Patriots style shenanigans.

Too little info is a mistake too. "Diggs isn't here and I am very concerned" was a terrible message to send to the public. He should be smarter than that. Don't talk about the misconceptions out in the public when your message lacking the key details is what crated them. That's an unforced error.

Easier to blame the OC than the QB. We do not know the coaching dynamic between them but it can't be easy coaching a QB that invites and tries to thrive in offensive chaos. Fans will give Josh credit when it works and blame Ken when it doesn't.

My theory. Josh was bypassing the gimme layups and taking many more deep shots. It was a trend the last part of the season. One might think that Diggs was pissed that Josh kept taking those shots which, for the most part, were not to him very often. The offense was having protection problems and Josh was not attempting to get the ball out any quicker. One might call that stubborn or even selfish in some respects. But, this trend seemed connected close in time to his elbow injury which might have made certain types of throws more problematic.

Fred is from Erie and a HOF famous for his overuse of stickem on every part of his uniform but i do not remember him for sideline toe taps as part of his game. Maybe I missed it.

We didn't get to see much of the rest of the NFL then but I too would swear Bobby Chandler invented/perfected that toe tap catch.

I think the zone read option is among the plays that carry the most risk of injury. A misread by Josh leaves him 1 on1 vs. a much bigger body. The play at 1:00 of this video might have caused me some heart pain. So, good riddance is what I say. Joey Bosa Bringing Josh Down.

Agree. First quarter turnovers have a great chance to be in one score context. But, they are not game deciders and are far from "clutch" situations which the stat seems to imply is what is being measured.

Over the last 3 years, the Bills have not played many games that ended within one score so it has to be related to game situation. I would look at this more in terms of 4th quarter/OT turnovers in one score games. That's more of what they might have been trying to measure.

I think teams care about PR, optics and distractions. So, my thinking is that there is still potential crap to come from a civil trial that could hurt Matt's employment status and a 6th round punter is not worthy of a team suffering any media mayhem. I think teams do care, just surprised that the Jets don't see a risk here.

I suspected that the pending civil suit would prevent any team from signing him at this point. There could be details that come from it which might lead to a bad PR situation at the very least. Different rules for 6th round punters vs. franchise QBs and all was my thinking. So it is interesting to me that the Jets are giving him a shot now even though that means I was wrong.

I think about 15% of home game attendance/ST holders are from across the border. They love the tailgate scene as much as we do and they pretty much rejected the Bills in Toronto series because they would rather spend their money to attend games here. Overpriced tickets without a decent party involved was a hard sell. That's why a big part of the rooting interest was in whomever the Bills played there. At least that is how I remember Canadian fans explaining it in a thread here at TBD from years ago.

Our legal system grinds out it's outcomes much too slowly to fit the timeline of a team on a Super Bowl mission. Her scumbag lawyer actually did the Bills a favor by forcing this all to come out in August rather than at some point later in the season. How much more of a circus would that have been? It certainly did his client no favor. Araiza hadn't even made much money on his contract yet. When the video of her taken at the Halloween party from the night before came out, that was pretty much the end of any criminal charges, imo. Her lawyer's intension to pursue the civil case will fail too. The Bills had no choice but to cut him but I got the feeling that they felt that Matt was not totally truthful with them after Dan Gilleon sent them the civil suit and the details that were therein. Good thing for those accused that everyone has a camera with them now and that they are willing to record everything they do and observe. In this case, this would amount to child pornography as she was under 18 at the time and prosecutors are even reluctant to share it with the defense. As for the accuser, it is easy to sell victimhood to most anyone. It's what many lawyers do. She said she couldn't remember many important details that their subsequent "investigations" later revealed. She should drop the suit, apologize and blame the lawyer for the over reach. Most of we the public would accept that, I think.

I hope you are right. I always likened Josh's story to Roy Hobbs--an Americanized version of the Greek hero myth. This might be entering the Memo Paris and Harriet Bird stage and could take a turn for the worse. Maybe Brit was his Iris Gaines. I like your take way more.

I remember that play! DT had the palm of his hand planted on Levitre's chin. I posted something to the effect that there's a reason why a hand to the face is illegal.
