  1. Don't stop him, he is on a roll- Belushi style.
  2. I would say that we can appreciate these players for the quality men they are, as it is warranted, and separate that from what they do on the field, good or bad. It is rather petty of us to be otherwise.
  3. The answer is BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB! A rookie QB is an inherent problem and the second year offers natural improvement. Good o-line play is the foundation of competant offense and the dysfunctional 2018 version was the biggest priority for an upgrade in 2019. It looks fixed and now every other part of the offense can perform and, in some cases, thrive.
  4. The Colts waited almost 48 hours to make the move. Maybe it was shopping for a trade offer or maybe it was a calculation to push the move further into the game prep week to slip him through waivers. Either way, I think he is in a good place to work on his game, rehab his professional reputation and get coached by a stable organization.
  5. For those of the Classic Rock Era Another one bites the dustAnother one bites the dustAnd another one gone, and another one goneAnother one bites the dustHey, I'm gonna get you, tooAnother one bites the dust or Well, I won't back downNo, I won't back downYou can stand me up at the gates of hellBut I won't back downNo, I'll stand my groundWon't be turned aroundAnd I'll keep this world from draggin' me downGonna stand my groundAnd I won't back down
  6. There is nothing bigger that Josh could do this season that would mark his ascension into the upper echelon of NFL QB hierarchy than leading the Bills to 2 wins over the Patriots. Anyone with even a casual interest in the NFL will notice. This may or may not include a victory in the playoffs over them. Mixing legendary metaphors, this is pulling the sword from the stone and slaying the Grendel with it. Lots of lesser achievements would do it too but not as many would recognize them.
  7. The challenge is when expectations are not met. JK had a tough time with that. It's ego, accepting criticsim even when it's misguided, facing the public and your teammates when you screwup in a big moment, interacting with a hostile, at times, press. Whether he succeeds at "Franchise QB" or not, he is the same person whether he gets viewed in a different way by the public or not.
  8. At some point during the offseason, in the midst of the SuperCade story, the team dinners in CA, the welcoming phone calls to his newest teammates, the Mothers Day event at the Japanese steakhouse, the autographs at SJF including the one for the kid with the Dolphins jersey and all the other public interactions he's made, I commented that Josh Allen has been getting really good at being Josh. He seems comfortable in every situation. I hope it stays the way.
  9. It wasn't 10 , it was closer to 5 and NFL QBs miss those throws all the time completing them less than 25% of the attempts. That one was mistimed by about .5 sec.
  10. I did not know that. I thought if someone made a waiver claim they pretty much have to go. That his NFL rights go to the claimer. I guess it would be rare to choose the PS of one team over the active roster of another but the Colts did more for Chad than give him a chance to be a camp arm. He might be wise to stay there.
  11. Whether there is any other opportunity or not, I think he'd be better off on the PS coached by Frank Reich and staff than on an active roster which is currently going through some kind of major QB upheaval ala the Jets headed by Adam Gase.
  12. The spate of QB injuries has created a situation where many teams are in deperation mode. If he is so bad why would the Colts have kept him this long or want him on their parctice squad? That is likely what they are trying to do. Report is he participated in their morning walk through session.
  13. I think if he clears waivers he will be on the Colts practice squad tomorrow. That's a big if. Maybe they waited two days in hopes that teams will not want to claim at this point of the week. The Colts have a strong organization and that's probably the best place for Chad, imo.
  14. It cost them nothing, either financially or on their roster, as far as I know. I can't see him making it to their practice squad. Lots of QB needy teams lately. The Jets might be the most logical.
  15. Serious question about that hit to cause the pbu at the 8. Why is that not a hit on a defenseless receiver? I remember the hit by Tre White on Thielen of the Vikes last year that was flagged on a completed pass. Thilen hung on to that event though he was "defenseless." I was angry at that one because what is a defender supposed to do prevent a first down? Not allow the receiver to make the catch and turn up field and make the yardage for the 1st down! I thought Micah's was much more violent of a hit and it did the trick to dislodge the ball but I was ready for that same flag that didn't come.
  16. Hoyer with 3 year deal with most guaranteed. Seems like they made a choice.
  17. Chad Kelly is off suspension and Colts have a 24 HR Commissioner Exemption. Maybe waiting for a needy team to make a trade offer? Otherwise it's on the 53 or waivers and risking a claim and they have had 2 weeks to sort those 2 options out. Jets look really needy now.
  18. Maybe Falk can Wally Pipp Darnold and Semian.
  19. What was extenuating about 2011 Fitzmagic?
  20. We all know that if you go anywhere in the USA and say that you're from "New York" that most everyone assumes you mean NYC. Just like "Upstate New York" means everything but the Metro NY counties and represents 90+% of its area. I am glad Josh called him on his sloppy use of the term. The rest of the state wants it back.
  21. Check with Ricky Henderson.
  22. He was a highly controversial draft prospect and he is our QB now. Any media content focused on him as the onfield leader of this franchise and his progress (or lack thereof) is going to generate a response. It's not going to stop.
  23. Sometimes the collective mindset is to avoid a major screwup. Other times it's to make a play that makes a difference. I am ok with that.
