Bills likely to end KC's 19-year sellout streak
BillsfaninFl replied to Tortured Soul's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to burst your bubble, but when Ralph bought the franchise, Buffalo is not where he wanted to put the team. It is what he had to settle for. -
How can you rate Marv as a GM, when he wasn't really given the power or the tools? It's like how can guys criticize Bobby April for the decline in our special teams? His personnel have been coming and going through a swinging door for the last three years. I think he actually pulled a couple of fans out of the stands for a few games this year. Okay, I went too far, but you get the point.

Because for the Bills to be successful, they must have a defensive scheme that will work well against the teams in our division: the six most important games on our schedule. The 3-4 is what works best against all three of our division rivals, although not for the same reasons. The other ingredients must be players that are bigger than ours and a pass rush that is formidable. The Bills were close to having the right personnel when they had Pat Williams and Ted Washington on the defensive line. At that time, they were only a couple of players away from having an awesome defense that could run the 3-4 succesfully against our foes. But they blew it by not realizing what they had and what could be done with it. The rest is history.

How many times are we going to go through the same song? Tony Dungy is smart and has an impressive record. As are Cowher, Shannahan, Holmgren and several others. But none of them, and no superstar coordinators are interested in the Buffalo job. The Bills are NOT going to blow it all up. There is no reason to do so, because so many fans still believe things will get better. There will be a new coaching staff. End of story.

News regarding the San Diego Chargers
BillsfaninFl replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, so they build it closer to LA and become the LA Chargers. Or - they could relocate to Buffalo after the Bills are sold. Our stadium is much younger and can handle larger crowds. Who knows what would happen if we actually had a winning team again? -
Jags fail to sell out again
BillsfaninFl replied to bigbillsfan12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A bunch of us in Orlando have rented a bus for a couple of trips to Jacksonville to watch games. (One was a Bills game.) It's a nice stadium in a decent area, and there is even a good tailgating lot. Apparently, there just aren't enough pro football fans there. -
Saints fan shoot TV after losing bet
BillsfaninFl replied to sullim4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I looked at the posts listed in the Stadium Wall box, I noticed that the majority were unrelated or only indirectly related to the Bills. Does this mean... 1. There is virtually nothing left to talk about because the season is over already. 2. We have already beaten the horse to death, over and over again. 3. This is the lull before the storm of activity (personnel moves) that will happen after the season ends. What do you think? -
Funny piece. I enjoyed it. I posted a statement about the need for better helmets a week or two ago. My point is that the exterior of the helmet needs to be soft. If you look at the insde of the helmets NFL players now use, they have thick foam pads designed to absorb the shock of a hit. But the outside of the NFL helmet is hard plastic that is shatterproof. The players have been increasingly using this hard device as a weapon. Some neck injuries have occured because players often launch themselves head first at their opponents. But even more damage has been done to the recipients of the helmet ramming. If the outside of the helmet was made of a soft material that (along with the existing internal protection) improves the energy absorption greatly, less concussions would result. In addition, players would stop using a soft helmet as a weapon, because it would not enhance the blow to the opponent. In the past, soft add-ons have been placed on helmets where the player is prone to concussions (see Kelso). But there has not been an emphasis on designing a completely soft helmet. It is needed, now, if we want more star players to have an increased chance of having a lengthy football career.

Okay, you all probably read it right here at twobillsdrive. T.O. has signed a contract to be a model. That will impress the world out there who things the Bills are a bunch of wimps. But what if it gets worse? What if next week we hear that Marcus Stroud is going to be on Dancing with the Stars? And what if Hangartner is going to do a guest shot on one of those ladies' Scrapbooking shows. The snowball starts rolling down the hill and the next thing you know, one of our most veteran tailgaters ends up on a cooking show and a couple of Bills trainers are background exercisers for a fitness show. Do any of you have this nightmare?

Oh! When I first read your post title, I thought our QBs were depressed. Then again, maybe they are. Crap, the whole team probably is down. Now that I think about it, I don't feel very good either. We may be surprised to find out who feels good right now. What if Jauron is saying to himself, "I'm glad that's over?" What if he's smiling right now? I never actually saw him smile. Did anyone? Is he creepy looking when he smiles? Does he have all of his teeth? But I digress.

Can you imagine what would happen if they DID decide to play Brohm? They would have to simplify our offense. How could you possibly make our offense any simpler? Brohm in the huddle: "Okay, everybody go long."

Sign him right now. Not because he is the messiah, but there will probably be another opening on the O-line during the game and it won't be pretty if they have to throw Parrish in there for the fourth quarter.

Yeh, he's a clown. But he's not a cancer. T.O. was a cancer on every team he has played for, except Buffalo. And the only reason he is not a problem here, is because he is "reputation jail" this year. He must keep his big mouth shut or no team will ever give him a tumble again. It must be very difficult for him being on this team. Wait until next year, after he signs with another team. He'll bash the Bills big time.

Woo Hoo the Bills are not a dog this week!
BillsfaninFl replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shhh. I'm trying to talk my neighbor into giving me the Bills plus six. He's from Australia and he gets confused between football and football (soccer). I'm trying to convince him that one score in soccer is the same as seven points in American football, and since the Bills have scored 199 points this year, the odds are in his favor if he takes the bet. Of course, this is risky. If he finds out the real odds for the game, he'll let his dog s**t on my lawn again. And he has a very large dog. -
The difference between the Bills and the Patriots
BillsfaninFl replied to tomdayfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's not the difference between the Bills and the Patriots. The real difference is that the Patriots have a pro football team, while we have a bloodsucking cash cow business that makes believe they are a pro team. Even though my Patriots photo is riddled with dart holes, I can still make out some of the players. But when I stand off to the side a bit to look at my Bills photo, the illusion disappears. -
Isn't that what the Practice Squad is for?

BLOW OUT THE CHIEFS, AGAIN PLEASE
BillsfaninFl replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Until the talent evaluation staff is upgraded, our draft position is of little value. Forgive the tear stains on this page, but I have been pissed with 7-9, 7-9, but now I'm hoping for win number 5. If I lower my expectations much more, I'll start believing these guys who say we are just a few players away from being a contender. I wonder if the Jills are contemplating making some significant changes in their personnel? -

What's that? We are a farm team for the rest of the league? Oh! Now it all makes sense. The mystifying player moves, the less than NFL standard budget, the opportunities available for less than qualified coaches. And like any good farm, lots and lots of manure. Lots and lots of manure... lots of manure... swimming in manure... manure. Doctor, is it time for my session again?

Are the Bills even looking for a new GM/President
BillsfaninFl replied to Maddog69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are right on. The real plan is probably... Ralph sucks in the fans by promising to "look" at the entire organization. Based on the threads I am reading, the majority of posters believe a new GM is as important a step as bringing in a new coach. So Ralph sends his pseudo-GM to interview a high profile coaching prospect. I don't know about the rest of you, but when that happened that told me a lot. Forget about what is said, the action shows that Ralph is only looking for a coach. You don't send your GM to find his replacement. How can anyone still think a new GM could be in the works? Ralph Wilson is the defacto GM of the Bills and will remain so in the future. There is no plan to have "sweeping changes." It's time to face it. -
Kyle Williams: We are a ''stupid'' team
BillsfaninFl replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me this is more evidence that the players have lost confidence. And why not? I won't list the organizational screwups we have been talking about a lot. I'll just mention one trend that has hurt us. I have lost count of the number of times the Bills have drafted a player and then changed the position he plays. Every team does it occasionally, and sometimes it is warranted (i.e. Jason Peters from Tight End to Offensive Tackle). But the Bills have done it way too often in recent years. Tackle to guard, end to linebacker, wide receiver to safety, safety to linebacker, etc. Done with such frequency, it is doomed to failure because you are asking a lot of players to learn a new position while trying to accomplish the hardest task of their football career: successfully adapting to the NFL. You end up with a bunch of good athletes who are removed from what they did best before arriving in Buffalo, and then we wonder why they are not playing up to the level they achieved in college. The organization follows up being guilty of misjudging who they should draft, with misusing the players they take. -
NE will not be coasting at the end of the season. Their loss to Miami puts them in a 3-way fight the rest of the way. Of course, NE never coasts anyway. And if they are beating you, they pile on the points as much as they can. It's one of the things I dislike about Bellychick. Actually, there are a lot of things I dislike about him.

It's Official, Clausen Entering The Draft
BillsfaninFl replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Come on, are you also against him because his uncle (Santa) is from north of the border? -
Or the other extreme is that they could be 2 - 9 right now.

Good points, all. Nice post.
