  1. Well, now that we are all set, we can go back to taking a DB in the first round. Same old, same old.
  2. I wish Losman the best. And now I wish we don't hear any more about him until at least next year.
  3. Well, if they weren't caught and they weren't dropped, maybe they bounced off his helmet or were thrown into the stands. I'm not going to take the time to look up the numbers myself, so I can't dispute the post. But I believe elite wide receivers catch better than 50% of the balls thrown to them.
  4. The only problem is... who's holding the leash? There's no one with the b***s to dump a player if he gets out of line right now. Brandon is preoccupied with planning how to sell enough game tickets next year. Ralph is secretly negotiating with Toronto to have more games played there. Fewell would be willing to play Jack the Ripper if it will enable him to make it through a game with five offensive linemen. T.O. doesn't care, as long as they throw several post patterns to him. Besides, I like Klopfenstein's name better. The stein reminds me of German beer.
  5. Reasons why the Bills will beat the Patsies: 1. Belichick's camcorder freezes up under 30 degrees. 2. Randy Moss is still pouting. (I have no idea why. Has he forgotten what it was like when he was with the Raiders?) 3. Welker will get his ten catches, but will not be able to make the runs because of the slippery ground. Reasons why NE will beat the Bills: 1. Fitz is playing. 2. Terrell Owens is still pouting. (I have no idea why. His bank account is bursting with money and he runs the team.) 3. The snow doesn't pile up enough to slow Welker down. Take your pick.
  6. Are you actually buying this? One of the few things most of us seem to agree on is that Russ Brandon doesn't know the fine points about football and is unqualified to be a GM. As I've stated before, if the plan was to hire a real GM and give him the power to do his job well, Ralph Wilson would be doing the interviewing. It's obvious that if Brandon is doing the interviewing, then this is another snow job. He is not qualified to determine who would be a good GM, and he is being asked to hire someone as his own replacement. If someone is hired, they will be a glorified scout, given no real power (other than to make suggestions) and the world of the Bills remains virtually the same. Yes, Ralph isn't senile. I've never thought he was. He is actually a very smart businessman. He is squeezing out all the profit he can out of his "cash cow," and knows that this does not hurt the selling price of the team, because the real value is owning an NFL franchise. The new owners will change everything anyway.
  7. I voted "other," because the poll will not let me select all of the "haters." The organization has been mismanaged for more than a decade, and in my opinion, continues to decline. Moves have been typical lame attempts to placate ticket buyers, while in reality, the frugality has been more evident with each passing year. Hence, poor coaching and management hires and promotions. That's the background for a horrible situation for players to have to deal with, practically insuring that they will not develop and play up to their potential. Then, the haters attack them verbally (and don't kid yourself, they are aware of it), and there is even less motivation for them to try hard or to have self-confidence. But it doesn't stop there. The haters ride them out of town on a rail (look up tar and feathers) and then follow their career ad infinitum, seeking any piece of evidence that they are not playing well. Apparently, this makes the haters feel better. I don't understand their obsession and find it annoying.
  8. Hey! I've got an idea. Why not do the same thing with Bills management that they have done so often with the players: bring them in and give them a different job to do than the one they are qualified for? They could hire Cerrato and make him the Conditioning and Fitness Manager. What's that? They already are doing that? Marv and Russ are examples? Oh yeh, that's right.
  9. That is... it's over until Incognito rolls over Mitchell's knee in practice, accidentally, of course. I can't believe Kawika threw a shot across Incognito's bow as he was about to join the team. The guy is dangerously unbalanced and who knows what he will do to get even?
  10. I wonder how many interceptions Byrd would have if he played in every game this year?
  11. Cut him? He has been a touchdown machine for the Bills of late. (Regarding the Bills, a touchdown machine is anyone who averages 1/2 touchdown per game. In New Orleans, the definition is anyone averaging 2 touchdowns per game.) Besides, if we had cut him before last Sunday's game, there goes 15 of our 86 yards in the air. And he got those 15 with only 2 catches. Do you want to ruin our chances of winning the last three games?
  12. With a name like his, you would think he doesn't want to draw attention to himself. Whew! That was so lame, I feel like apologizing for posting it. Naw.
  13. Do you not miss him because of the way we have shut down opposing receivers and quarterbacks in his absense? Or is it that he has not been named to the Pro Bowl yet? Keep in mind that one of the brightest stars among young cornerbacks in the NFL: Daryl Revis of the Jets, was picked on during his early games. McKelvin hasn't played poorly. He's just made some mistakes that young players make.
  14. By my memory, in the last decade, there have been three times that the "experts" called it a "reach" when the Bills took their first draft pick. In all three cases the experts were correct. Since I do not respect these draftniks as geniuses, it implies that we fans are right when we say that the Bills staff has been weak on evaluating talent. When it is obviously a mistake, and it happens multiple times, Ralph gets a "duh" for a grade for two reasons: because of his flawed opinions and the inadequate people he hires.
  15. If they did that, it would mean that 16 - 0 is less important than winning the Super Bowl. But I would like to see JP play the Bills during the last week of the season. The Bills would have six sacks and three interceptions, and still lose.
  16. Amen. Does anyone really think that if we move up a draft pick or two, that we will get a superstar? We have had chances like that and blew it anyway. Never root for your team to lose. Losing damages a team in several ways. Getting a higher draft pick doesn't offset the damage.
  17. You probably could. It would take about 9 or 10 sacks. Just kidding.
  18. Okay, now you have gone too far. There is a better chance that we will trade Lynch for Vick and/or Brohm for Losman, than the Bills replacing our puppet GM. When an owner is serious about replacing a GM, he conducts the interviews himself. Since Russ Brandon is conducting the interviews, is there any chance at all that he is searching for someone to take his job away? Think about it.
  19. I hope you are right. And I hope Wood recovers fully.
  20. Running backs still get hit hard each carry, whether they are plating in the NFL, NFL Europe, or any pro league. So I cannot agree that Fred doesn't have the mileage on him that others his age do. However, it is not a foregone conclusion that when a back reaches 30 his career is almost over. It may be the norm, but "it ain't necessarily so." Health issues kill more NFL careers than "losing a step." We can only hope Freddie stays relatively healthy.
  21. Grimm, Billick and Martz, oh my. Grimm, Billick and Martz, oh my. We're off to see the wizard... but will it be a real wizard, or a humbug?
  22. The overall record may be worse, but at least we won two games against division opponents. Okay, the Jets and Dolphins helped bigtime, but how many times have we handed out gift games to them? Beating the Patriots would bring about a split across the board, but our only chance for that was probably the first game of the season. Still, it's a lot better than being 0-6.
  23. Please, don't covet another trade with New England. Haven't we learned our lesson about that? They only give us players that will allow them to continue to dominate us. Of course, we didn't get stung as badly as Miami, who must still be shedding tears about letting Welker go to NE.
  24. In all of the 90's the best records were held by Buffalo and San Francisco. Believe it or not, Kansas City was next.
