The Bills are so bad __________________
BillsfaninFl replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL Very good. -
A lot of good players try to do a Brett Favre. We do not hear about many of these attempts, but some surface. It's not so hard to understand. A player gets beat up for a number of years, has lost a step and does not heal as quickly from injuries. He decides to retire, then finds out his celebrity status starts to fade and he misses playing the game more than he thought he would. Many people criticize these attempts to play again, but I believe retired players have every right to try to come back if they choose. A team may or may not pick them up. They may not be as good as they once were. But it is their choice to try. Influences: Often, fans think in terms of a player damaging his career statistics, and therefore want stars to retire before they are not as good. I'm sure players consider this, but if playing the game a couple more years is more attractive, it should be okay for them to do so. Many of us can identify with doing a job for awhile and feeling like "that's enough." Then after having a break, realizing that you have a renewed interest in continuing with your career. I did that myself. So I feel I understand how an NFL player could change his mind after leaving the game.

To be clear, Dungy and Cowher are acceptable
BillsfaninFl replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tony and Bill will be glad to hear that they would be acceptable choices. Unfortunately, like other successful head coaches, they find the Bills unacceptable. -
Ah, there's the rub. It boils down to whether you believe Wilson or not. Our common ground is that we all want to believe him. Where we diverge is from our experiences, observations and interpretations. I believed him for the better part of 50 years. It is only during the past few when I have finally looked back and counted the times he said we are going north, then turned south. I don't agree that Ralph has gone farther than ever before. So far, he only fired a coach that everyone knew was dead meat last season. When he actually does something different than his track record, I'll be among the first to admit I was wrong (and celebrate about it). I hope I'm wrong... I hope I'm wrong... I hope I'm wrong.

Why do none of our players get better?
BillsfaninFl replied to Nevergiveup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With a few exceptions, it's either... 1. The player drafted was a poor decision because he does not have the potential to become better. or 2. The player does not develop further because of inadequate coaching. IMO, it's often 2. -
Name Three Owners Worse Than Old Ralph
BillsfaninFl replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't say anyone has been worse, but Al Davis (Oakland) has destroyed his team, too. Other meddling owners like Jerry Jones (Dallas) have made better decisions part of the time. Big spenders like Snyder (Washington) haven't bought Super Bowls, but they haven't reduced their teams to rubble, either. So Ralph may be the worst there is, or second only to Al Davis. -
Back off Brohm for a minute!

If anything, it makes it difficult to come down on them. How many examples do we need before we stop blaming the quarterbacks? -
How do the Bills have 5 wins?
BillsfaninFl replied to South Jersey Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While Miami thought they had an easy win against Buffalo and were looking ahead to the New England game, the Bills still had to play one of their better games to win it, and they did. The other wins were fairly ugly, along with most of the losses. The Bills (in game one) caught Tom Brady trying to get back to being himself. It was the best time to play them and it almost became a stolen win. The stats looked good after the Tampa Bay game because that team and their rookie head coach were still disorganized (and would remain so for a couple more months). Sorry to repeat myself, but I am convinced that the Bills' players would be playing a lot better if they had decent coaching. The few comments we have heard from opposing players and coaches the last couple of years have implied that the Bills playbook is easy to succeed against, we have lost at least a couple of games each year from bad in-game coaching decisions and the development of players (especially quarterbacks) has been nonexistent. Certainly, injuries have been a factor, but I do not agree with those who say it has just been bad luck. Four years of record major injuries is not an abberation, it is a trend, and once again the staff must bear some responsibility. -
2010 suprise signing.. ALA T.O FROM 09
BillsfaninFl replied to b-dynasty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right on. There will be a new Head Coach, who they will advertise as the "solution" to their problems. He will be on a short leash, especially as far as the budget for hiring assistant coaches. If there is a GM hired, he will be a puppet with no real power. That will keep the fans in the stands for the next season or two. I have this uneasy feeling that Ralph Wilson decided a long time ago to just coast in his later years, gathering as much profit as is possible, then when he goes the team is sold and his family gets a mega-payday. It's a good plan for him, but disaster for us. -
ROFL....Colts writer upset with Polian
BillsfaninFl replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait! We should be more considerate of our brothers in Indiana. I know... we could take Polian off their hands. We could bring him to Buffalo, where we would suffer from his lack of love while building another team that could get to the Super Bowl. Of course, we would only be doing it to support our Indy brothers: not for any gain on our part. -
Bills have contacted Charlie Weis
BillsfaninFl replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The jobs require two different skill sets. College coaches need to be "rah rah" guys more than NFL HCs. They also have to be good at recruiting high school stars. Not on the pro job description. And they need to kiss the azz of the alumni contributors. -
Seven is probably about right. I'm having trouble imagining it being a lot worse. We got crushed by a team that had as many losses as wins.

All of Bills Front Office moves were WRONG this year
BillsfaninFl replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or even quit, saying "I've had enough of this Malarky." -
AVP, come on, that was the worst game plan ever
BillsfaninFl replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That reminds me. On top of everything else, we have a GM that is in his first year. And he was given the job with no prior experience. The weight of evidence is crushing. It's a miracle the Bills have done as well as they have this year. -
Bills-Falcons Official Game Thread

Hmmm... After reading your posts here, and the negative comments in some of them, it makes me wonder why you attack others? -
AVP, come on, that was the worst game plan ever
BillsfaninFl replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please, no lynchings. What did you expect? We have a first time Offensive Coordinator who was not given the benefit of a decent learning period for the job, thrown in the fray just before the season started. We have a first time NFL quarterback who has not been with the team long enough to learn the plays, thrown into the fray after only weeks on the team. We have a first time Head Coach who has been just doing that job for six weeks. Half the team is injured and unable to play (not just those on IR). Twenty players were not on this team when the season started (and a case can be made for them being castoffs from other teams). With apologies to those who think we are being too negative, is there any way in Hell that we could expect this team to be a winner? I guess the positive side is that they managed to outscore opponents five times. That should be worth a Medal of Honor (or maybe a Purple Heart). But how can people expect Brohm to be effective or the team to beat a team that is any good (check Atlanta's record when Matt Ryan is playing)? Reality is truth, and in order to come back from an addiction (losing) this organization has to first admit the truth. But they play the "spin" game very well. They will continue to fool a percentage of fans, creating false hopes, until a new owner takes over. I pray that the team stays in Buffalo and that the new owner is commited to building a winning team. Until then, we are stuck in the mud. -
At Least Bills Won't Be 7-9 This Year
BillsfaninFl replied to timbuk3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could the Bills recover? Absolutely. Will they? Not in Ralph's lifetime. (And I don't want to hear about being insnesitive. The guy takes our money and laughs all the way to the bank. He does nothing to give us our money's worth. That's being insensitive.) -
The Bills game is not being televised in Buffalo?
-
Pennington is one of the most accurate passers in the league. He hurt us playing for New York and Miami. But he is too fragile and weak-armed to play for the Bills. Three sacks into our first possession, he would be out of the game and the following day be our first IR of the season. Vick is more elusive but can't complete the tight throws. Pick your poison.

Does Michael Vick Still have what it takes?
BillsfaninFl replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course Vick has what it takes. He still owns the property in Virginia, the pit is still set up inside the barn and the stalls are... oh, you mean to play football? Gee, I don't really know. The Eagles haven't played him enough to tell. -
When will the Brohm sucks threads start?
BillsfaninFl replied to bills_red's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, they did. The guy got out of the plane from Green Bay and there was a group waiting for him. Some had made a float for him to ride on down main street and others threw Buffalo dung at him. Those who wanted to be a little patient before judging handed him a football and asked him to throw it from Terminal A to Terminal B. He didn't get it there, so the honeymoon is over. -
Football fans and our obsession with "names"
BillsfaninFl replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, then I guess you're not interested in hiring Don Schula and Vinny Testaverde for HC and QB. -
What Bills stuff did everyone get
BillsfaninFl replied to twist_to_open's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On the day after Christmas I got a Ralph Wilson dart board. If you hit the center ring his voice promises to make changes that will make the Bills a winner. It's two-sided. If you hit the center ring on the back, the voice says "Brandon, bring somebody in who will sell tickets for next year, but don't spend too much money doing it." -
