  1. This. They have absolutely killed this franchise. Worse-yet, it is ongoing. I went from watching about 98% of their action over about 30 years to watching perhaps a full 60 minutes combined last year. I have no urge/desire to watch them at all this season either. I was a 20-year STH too. It is amazing at the contrast between the Bills and Sabres with the same exact ownership. They have made every single wrong decision when it comes to the Sabres. It is time they seek help (Kevyn Adams is a cruel joke as a General manager, especially with such a gargantuan lift).
  2. There is a huge level of trust and buy-in required by the players with a coach. Lose that and you're drawing dead. Im assuming just that one email probably cost him all his currency with many players in the lockerroom. This next batch would surely completely make Gruden's job impossible. Like with the Bills... When Trump went after the NFL's players, the Bills allowed McCoy to go out there and say his peace and get involved. Also allowed the players to decide on what to do about kneeling, anthem, etc... you had Terry Pegula, who probably voted twice for Trump go out on a limb and write a letter to denounce him. On the other hand, I truly think they gave/give Beasley the autonomy to do his thing and fight his battle if that is what is important to him. I do think McDermott may have drawn the line though when it became player vs fans. McDermott seems to really value the connection fans have to the players. Putting down the fans with a broad brush is a no-fly zone... But a lot of that goes into why these players seem to want to work for this and put it all out there.
  3. You need to factor in the Mark Davis looney tunes factor
  4. This is a very good summary of collinsworth. It drives me nuts.
  5. I didn't hate him last night, really... for most of the game I was bothered they didn't even mention the kelce pi pass was 15 feet out of bounds, and they seemed to purposely not show where the ball went on the replay. Then Oliver's terrible roughing the passer call. The game was dead right there without that help (and that was before the kelce play) The diggs no pi call too. All this right in succession. Followed by the bills, starting to stagger and get a huge allen first down nullified by a phantom holding call. So then you get the roughing the passer on allen. Borderline to soft, but the way Allen's feet kicked up sold it to the ref, and it did appear the defender drove him down just a little. Collinsworth then decided to make that the major narrative on why the game turned out the way it did. Very low class and terrible announcing
  6. Browns in the playoffs.
  7. Rousseau, Edmunds, secondary
  8. Imagine being a public figure and dumb enough to put that in an email
  9. good for him. I wish him the best, especially in the other conference.
  10. I actually like subtitles because my hearing is terrible
  11. See that huge crowd last night?
  12. His complaint as far as I know doesn't mention that. Just mentions the boos from the crowd and cries about it and paints "bills fans" with a broad ignorant brush. If he were to say something along the lines of "please bills fans, if we disagree on the topic of vaccination, please leave the kids out of it" that's pretty unimpeachible
  13. I thought he was great in Police Academy 2 and One Crazy Summer.
  14. Wow, what a baby. Everything about this team gives me the warm and fuzzies but this guy. Ill even overlook the vaccination stuff as long as he is catching footballs and isn't becoming a distraction... but come on.
  15. I usually have an aversion to female announcers to tell the truth. Its probably a bit neanderthal and misogynistic burned in over my 43 years, but it just doesn't seem right to me, especially for a sport like American Football which they never really played. Of course there are plenty of male broadcasters who have the same playing experience, but I overlook it. Anyways, I thought she was perfectly fine, even very good. My 8 year old kid couldnt stand her though. We had to go somewhere and we got in the car, and he was outwardly happy that Murphy was announcing. I thought that was interesting because he doesnt have 43 years of bias baked in yet (I defended her as an announcer to him). I actually think Murphy is a terrible radio announcer.
  16. Nothing wrong with 'quality' of opponent. Miami was everyone's hot take to win the Division the past 2 years, and Washington had a scary defense, magic QB, and favored to win their Division. Even if they are proved out to be bad, then you can consider there is no cake-walk in the NFL. I think its also clear that Tua was set for a long day vs the Bills' defense. He was getting smoked early on. Anyways. The thing that is so impressive about this Bills team right now, is we have the offense, who really has shown signs of being efficient but hasnt hit their potential yet... but the defense looks really, really good as well. The pass rush gets in and they seem to be stout against the run. They may have a top 3 unit on both sides of the ball, as well as a top-10 place-kicker.
  17. I like it too. I have no experience watching Korean content, but I really dig it. I like how everything is shot, acted, and looking into a different culture as part of the background. Anyway. The Squid Game is great. 3 Episodes in and I like it.
  18. He isn't getting booed.
  19. Early on. She sounds good.
  20. Yes, I do. Close knit group of us. We can't get together so much due to kids, jobs, and all that.. but we still do stuff. Camping, bills games, etc.
  21. I would think if UB were included in plans for a stadium, it would likely end up profiting the Pegulas to some degree via rent/lease in some form, concessions, etc Now I would think that the plan would have to include (from both ends) some sort of commitment that UB up-jumps their program with some short, mid, and long-term goals. It would probably need to really make an effort to move on from the MAC within 5 years for a start. Right now, they do not sell a ton of tickets. A lot of it has to do with the Maction weeknight games. A lot has to do with the level of opponent/competition. A lot of it has to do with that Stadium. I would argue the stadium there keeps a lot of people away. I went in with my Bills ticket buddies (10 of us) and we were excited to get UB season tickets one year. We went to the first few games, tailgated, had a bit of fun there... but the stadium is so awful, and not in a cool, dingy quaint way. Its a pile of formed concrete about 1/8 of a mile from the field with terrible sightlines. Everything about it is bad. People started to bail after the 3rd game, the 4th was it. I have been to a few games since, but its always disappointing. Not to mention the weather cuts through that thing like a knife, and if you sit in the upper deck on the one side in a late afternoon game, you are staring directly into the sun because the other grandstand is about 2 miles to the West. So I guess the question is... would more people go if the stadium was a proper football venue and if the opponents were on a better level than the MAC? Students especially. Seriously dont know the answer. Buffalo is kind of a strange area supporting things that arent the Bills and Sabres. I dont think they will/can ever be at a level like Ohio St, Penn St, etc... but can they get to a level like Pitt, Iowa State, NC State, etc? Talking like 10 years down the line, plus.
  22. As mentioned, it would have to accompany some kind of plan/commitment from NYS and UB to elevate their program. It doesn't make sense if we are going to settle into MAC crowds of 7-12K in a stadium of 60,000. Road-wise, it seems more possible than downtown. People can be moved by 990 right there, 290 in both directions, as well as some arteries nearby like Sheridan, Millersport, Maple, Niagara Falls Blvd, etc.
  23. Big Grass Lot is the best.
