That team had an embarrassment of riches going into the offseason and completely dropped the ball.

Should Something Be Done To Fix The Pro Bowl?
May Day 10 replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have said it before, but they should make a big deal and presentation to make "All Pro" teams. Maybe a 1st and 2nd team from each the AFC and NFC. Probably roll out the league awards too. Make a really nice show out of it. Try to get players to play roles in the show, show personality, etc. All star format just doesn't work well with this sport, especially with all the participants being individual 'brands' worth millions a year and have a lot to lose (and already over-worked). I remember how cool the 'All Madden Team' show was. If they did something like that but with 2021 technology and delivery... and make it important like the NFL can do... it can be much better than a pro bowl. Being all AFC/NFC/NFL will mean something too. Not "Tyrod Taylor should get a larger contract because he was in the Pro Bowl (as the 9th alternate). -
Are the Colts going to completely pee their season away?

Giants GM Dave Gettleman to retire on Monday
May Day 10 replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is always my first thought when the Giants job opens. I could see him jumping if the Gianta/Maras gave him exactly what he wants as far as autonomy, control, and... money. Belichick though seems to have prevailed in the Kraft/Brady/Belichick fight. I would imagine he is pretty comfortable and feels like Kraft will take care of his kid and his guys in McDaniel and fatso rocket science guy with the pencil, forgot his name. He is 70 and the Giants will be a moderate lift, although they seem to be in a pretty open division for the most part, and the NFC appears to be an easier road than the AFC in terms of young quarterbacks for the foreseeable future. There is light at the end of the tunnel here though for NE. They skated through a 1 year rebuild back into the playoffs/contention. They have a rookie QB who has had a really good rookie year. They have some cap space coming up to improve. They are ahead of NY by quite a bit. I cant see a 70 year old who desperately wants to win 1 (or more) championship taking a step back. -

I had a dog with diabetes. Lived with it awhile. I ended up going to Sam's club for insulin and needles. Was pretty cheap from what I remember.

High-end WR seems like a position that you are best served getting through the draft for the most part with few exceptions. Even the Diggs trade is debatable. I love the guy and he couldnt have done better, but Justin Jefferson on a rookie deal would have been fantastic as well.

In a vacuum with no cost or logistics involved, I would say a Minnesota type indoor park with an outdoor feel, somewhere downtown, but I would probably choose a location further down 190 towards the Terminal or the elbows of the 90 there for more space and easier fan egress. With everything taken into account though: Location: UB area. Shared with UB. Easy routes of egress, out of snow belt and away from lake. Open air, but with many seats covered from rain. Situated to mitigate the worst of the winds. GREAT sitelines and seats close to the field. As steep a grade in seats as code allows. This is probably my #1 hope. I would prefer closer to 70K-72K for seating. I would happily pay $2.5-$5K if I had really decent seats for a PSL, spread across a payment plan. For my cheap end zone seats, I would pay $1K probably. I also hope they hold off the bells and whistles some of these other places have. We lack the corporate clientele at these games. Fans go there to watch the game and be involved in the game. Not to sit in a fantasy football lounge or socialize in the concourse at different bars all game.

I cant remember any season that the home opener was that dreary.... and probably games 2 and 3 as well with weather.

Lots of teams have those this year I think. Houston and the Jets beat the Titans. Houston almost (should have) beat NE, Jax beat Buffalo, Detroit/Arizona The bottom line is that every player in this league is a peak athlete, well conditioned, and very competitive. All the coaches are the best in the world as well. So many games come down to a few feet, a call/non call, a bad bounce, etc. There are no easy games, and nothing should be taken for granted.

I suspect Frazier is really good with players, as in, they respect him and listen to him (and he in turn also respects and listens to players). That is an important thing and a key ingredient that has brought success to McDermott. He seems universally liked and respected in (public) NFL circles. If Im Joe-Average Bears fan, and they announce Frazier as a coach, Im probably pretty mad though as on the surface it sounds pretty uninspiring.

Im glad I dont have to make the decision. Mayfield will be a waiting game I think. His shoulder likely really undermined his season and I am sure he would rather wait and prove it. The issue is, if he goes back to the previous Mayfield, he is really tough to handicap as far as the rest of the QBs... especially with the backdrop of the Browns who havent really had anyone besides Testaverde and Kosar since Otto Graham. I could see Mayfield's personality really becoming antagonistic if he does good/decent next season and the deal isnt waiting for him. Jackson... I dont know. I really wouldnt want my team to give him franchise QB money long-term. I get his record and all as well as some electric games. But I just dont think he has the ability to be a true franchise QB. Injuries are going to pile up and he will slow down. I trust in Baltimore to do the right thing, whatever that is.
