Yeah, that's what I meant. Essentially the separation between the power conferences and mid majors is going to be much more tangible.

So essentially, we are bounding toward a true minor league NFL tryout league that will decouple from NCAA. I get the evolution, but I hate it. I wish we could have gotten some releases of EA NCAA Football before it got ruined. Essentially, UB/the MAC is IA football now. The question is, would you rather be that? Or be the likes of Rutgers who will be a bunch of human pinatas in the big leagues?

And to join the "theirs looks cooler" fray. Yeah, Nashville looks great for that city. It has emerged as a Vegas of the East. Destination. It has all sorts of decks people can stand on and socialize, look out on the activity in the city, etc. It looks perfect for Nashville. Good for them and their city. Buffalo's stadium was designed to fit Buffalo and our fans. We are football-focused. The emphasis seems to be in the seats and on the field. We cant have an open end or many 'character' type of elements that New England or Seattle have for example as the wind is/can be just too severe. With being enclosed, we are pretty much getting as close to an indoor stadium as possible without going indoor. Say what you want about indoor vs outdoor (I personally think indoor venues lack character, especially considering we would likely get/afford a cookie-cutter one like Detroit. Every game seems miscellaneous and the same. Here, the weather, temp, etc is part of the story and adds a dimension. In Detroit, SNF looks like a 1PM game. In our current stadium, Primetime games look special). I think the enclosed stadium and design will make the interior extremely noisy and it should bring most/all NFL stadiums to shame. The only reason we arent the loudest is all the open space Highmark has (and KC's is basically enclosed). I am also a little puzzled as why we have only gotten a small handful of very simplistic renderings with little detail. Will they come out with a bunch more once PSLs become available to try to maximize the hype to reduce sticker shock?

I just hope they dont start skrimping on some things and cutting costs for cheaper, less durable building materials, and cheaper seats and such. The Arena downtown is a decent example of that. It is clearly a lot cheaper than its contemporaries and it shows in so many ways and now we are stuck with a bad arena, poorly designed, and bad sight lines.

This guy was terrific. He was a great follow on social media. Just oozed positivity and humor. Nobody knew he had cancer probably because he unselfishly didnt want to bring anyone down. Get together with some friends, smoke a joint, and watch Pee Wee's Big Adventure. It is a masterpiece

I strained my calf before. Was pretty painful. Was chasing a pop fly in baseball... it felt like someone punched my calf as hard as they could. I thought it was my Achilles. Made it very tough to be doing any sort of running motion for quite a bit. I'm sure nfl players have access to much better healing and pain suppressing measures than I though

8 teams in the East of the worst 10. 5 Of those in the Atlantic Division or whatever its called. Only Detroit, the Sabres, and Montreal don't appear in the worst 10 (all 3 are top 10). Not that it is a true indicator of future results, but it is a good omen that the guard will be changing. Especially since Tampa and Boston are a few of the older teams in the league (as are the Islanders). Pittsburgh and Washington are older and have already hit the pavement a bit... and Toronto seems to have a possible major transition on their hands if they do not succeed this season.

add the Broncos too (not originals, but the 70s-mid 90s look) I also think tennessee's uniform designs are dated back to a weird uniform craze in the late 90s and early 00s that brought about theirs, Denver, Patriots, Bills' pajama uniforms, etc

Seattle is such an improvement and they should make those their primary/permanent look

Are these owners who applied for teams? Or is it the league currently maintaining ownership of all the teams for now? I suspect it is the latter. Just by seeing that list, I would say they missed the mark and the league will (again) fail. The league needs to start small, regional, and build-out. You have a team in Boise, and a team in Louisiana. That is stupid. Oregon stretching to Orlando If it were me, I would try to find markets, who are normally a captive audience to sports, and keep it relatively within a regional foot-print. Possibly have a number of other cities in mind for another division in the future. Preferably in cities who do not have both NHL and NBA. I would start at 5-8 teams. Iowa (to capitalize on the nostalgia), Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Buffalo?, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Nashville, KC. Possibilities would include St Louis, Omaha, and Columbus

Im a fan who is fairly comfortable with McDermott, but I agree that his job SHOULD be on the line if they dont at least make the AFCCG. However, I do not think the thought will cross ownership's mind (and I suspect it is not Beane's decision at all) The only way McDermott's job will be in true jeopardy is if this season is a special kind of disaster. 3rd or 4th in the division, no playoffs, embarrassing lockerroom trouble/loss off control, etc.

The guy sounds really full of himself. Like he sought a reporter to talk about how he hitched a ride with McDermott and spoke about all his own coaching philosophies and his 'bright' future

I went through a stretch in college or so for about 3-5 years that I watched a lot/followed WWF. It was probably during the most prime years (about 1999-2002-2003). It was great entertainment. It is/was fake, but man those guys took risks and put their health on the line. Many wrestlers died young or are disabled to some degree. That isn't fake. ECW was also ridiculous fun to watch late night on Empire Sports Network in the mid 90s. It got super repetitive and predictable though and I got bucked off. I have tried to watch it a few times in recent years, but I just can't. It is very bland, very stretched out, they play it very safe, etc. I think my 10 year old kid may get exposed to it soon, we will see if he drags me into it for a stretch. I went to an indy promotion in the fall at riverworks. That was really awesome. Its cheesy, sleazy, and all that... but that is what is great about it. Go with friends, pound beers, get into it.... and its a riot. I have a friend who is a pro wrestler on Canadian circuits and he does amazing stuff.

Not sure it's my favorite story, but watching the documentary about doc Ellis, the guy who threw the no hitter for the pirates on acid.

I lived in central CT for a few years. I went to Pepe's and it was just a hyped up, disappointing version of New York pizza that costs a lot and has a long wait. Kind of like most things in Connecticut. Just a cheap imitation of New York and Boston

His character in this is possibly one of my favorite characters of all time. So impatient and angry. So many one-liners and quirks that are spanning time

I think its a terrific movie. Kind of paints Buffalo in a bit of a negative light, but it is deserved

Im thinking that the culmination of surveys, studies, and general common sense will lead to a fairly football-game-centric experience. I do think we will see quite a bit more amenities and comfort, especially with the business-class, but in general, it will be built around 60,000 people wanting to be involved in a football game.

This x1000. If your looking for social lounges, bars, super comfy seats, bathroom attendants, 100 varieties of international cuisine.. then it isn't for you. If you want a throwback to how it used to be, and by all accounts when it was better, it is a top 3 stadium. I have said it before. I have friends from Boston who take a bus to the game here every season because it is such a great experience and they hate Gillette

I kind of disagree with some of the points though. It's much different than climbing everest. People don't pay attention to everest deaths because it's a steady flow of people and there is an average of like 5 deaths a year. This story isn't captivating just because the Titanic wreck, although it being the backdrop helps a bit. It's captivating because the idea of 5 people living in freezing cold in their own excrement, running out of breathable air inside a small iron lung with a lot of curious design "features"... is all horrifying. It also lends to interesting discussion.

I'm thinking it is gone and will never be located.
