  1. It's more of a nod to SF than Purdy. If Purdy was on NE, he is probably already headed to the refuse pile. If Zappe were on SF, I wonder if he would get to this level. Bad teams and bad organizations often pick at the top of the draft and we see a high bust rate. Now, more than ever, we see well constructed teams get QBs a touch later, then roll. Mahomes, Hurts, Allen, Lamar, prescott, Purdy come to mind (although they swung with Lance). Ironically, I think Brady to new england was the same story. If Brady goes anywhere else, especially to the Browns at 1OA, he is likely nothing more than a footnote on their bizarre run of QBs over 25 years. Even good teams kind find a serviceable qb outside the top of the draft. Cousins, Rodgers, Goff, and Stafford come to mind. Maybe Watson or Wilson if they turn it around.
  2. I agree that it isnt Belichick's DNA to tank... and you also have players and other personnel who are highly competitive and jobs and money are on the line. They are a bad team. This has been festering for a few years since they blew their cap money and got nothing for it, drafting low-ceiling Mac Jones and ruining him with terrible coordinators, and further rotting of the roster. Add in the fact that 3 of the top 10 teams in the league reside in their division (when Rodgers is in) it is a disaster. You do not need to tank for the top QB. Top QBs are not an exact science. There are many QBs with the physical traits and a lot has to do with nurture over nature at this point. A large part of it is what is between the ears. A top drafted QB in New England does not scare me at all because BB will continue to go the internal/comfortable route for coordinators, draft poorly, resist getting top receivers, and everything else. Brock Purdy You can also shortcut and find good QBs on FA or trade these days and even reclamation projects.
  3. What if she gets a nicer hotel room in London than others of equal/similar position? If she has a higher wage than another person at a similar position, then that could be a problem. Is she and Roth going out to nice dinners on a company CC and nobody else is entitled to that? Any perceived preferential treatment is a no-no. Did he use his position of authority to get her to date him? If they broke up, could she claim that? If the split up and got messy, what do you do (you can get into hostile work environment territory real quick). She can also levy all sorts of quid pro quo allegations on him and the organization. She is an attorney, so she is armed to the teeth with the levers to pull. And the tweets (or 'x's?) seem to indicate that there were PDAs in plain sight in London. This is a no-no. A business trip is considered part of the workplace. That creates an odd work environment for others. A lot of people would/can laugh it off... but all it takes is 1 employee to expose a mess. I would assume there is more to this story than we know, or will ever know. I know this guy was highly thought of by Terry and was recently promoted. This isn't something he wanted to do I'm sure, and would have looked the other way if it were just an innocent relationship out of sight and out of mind. Not worth it. This guy didn't seem qualified for that position anyways and attorneys grow on trees.
  4. It exposes the company to allegations of quid pro quo, serial harassment, favoritism/gender discrimination, retaliation, and numerous other problems. It's not limited to a promotion. It can include wages, overtime, company functions/perks, office space, and general treatment in the workplace. This could create a massive problem. NYS is a tough place for this as well. If they were PDA-ing at work (or a business trip), which seems to be what was happening in London, that's another issue. Both these people are replaceable. If this were handled early and properly, they would have separated them on the org chart (or maybe one resigns). If it were a Mail room employee and supervisor, they could go to management and one could be moved to a separate area.
  5. Extramarital Why do so many of these coo types need to be so sleazy? Is it like some sort of primal need to exert this artificial power? She wouldn't look at him twice if he was in the mail room or grounds crew
  6. I want to say Police Academy?
  7. The team was humming until halftime of the Packers game last season. If they can navigate these injuries on defense, and can avoid other major personnel losses, this team will be fine.
  8. That stinks. What an exciting start to his career.
  9. They should win the next 2 games... but then murderer's row as far as the MAC goes
  10. It's crap. Every single week kc gets bailed out by a huge call or 2 now
  11. Should have had to use their home game for the experiment.
  12. I heard the bills had a deal done, but overdorf and Littman nixed it
  13. It makes me wonder how much their elderly owner is calling shots
  14. I think it matters. We all love to soak up nostalgia about the 90s teams. That was fun. The drought years? While they had there moments and the thrill of the chase can be fun... and to their credit, they never really hit rock bottom too much... it was filled with lousy football. This has been a fantastic run. It has been fun, the stadium has been rocking, the Bills have been among the cornerstone teams in the league for awhile. Great plays and memories. If this is it, in 25 years (if I am still alive), I will be looking back and remembering a lot of good stuff, even without a superbowl victory Big picture though, they really do need to win a superbowl. It is a giant elephant in the room while reminiscing about those 90s teams and a real tragedy that team never won. It would be a shame (and a hit to everyone's pride), if they fail to do this.
  15. I was going to post this play. It is all I think of when I hear this guy's name. He also lined up Offside on that next play and should have been flagged
  16. I could see the Vikings winning this game for sure. Back is against the wall and at home. As far as the Swift stuff. Im not a fan of her music, honestly never heard anything.... but I do realize she is about the biggest act out there presently. I think this kind of thing is great for the league and sport. It further weaves the NFL into all facets of American culture. However, when the Bills are playing the Chiefs I am going to be annoyed by the Swift talk and the camera showing her reaction to events throughout the game... especially if the Bills are losing.
  17. The Bills under Pegula/Beane have not been hesitant about rewarding/extending their players. The only one (off a good season) who got away that i can think of is maybe Harrison Phillips. They also let Shaq and the walking hamstring pull Phillips walk after productive seasons as well. I think thats a pretty good barometer for Edmunds. Especially since they were also heavily invested in him, having traded up in the first round. I guess Gabe Davis is another canary in the coal mine. If they think he can be replaced, he will not be retained. Also if he wants Christian Kirk money, then what is the delta between Davis at $18 Million/year vs a 1st round receiver or someone they can land in a trade/find in FA?
  18. I was nervous about losing him. I just saw his physical traits, how much our coaches seemed to like him, and the contract he got. In hindsight, I figure if he were that important, they would have extended him like everyone else. Saw him last night for the first time. I thought he looks like he got fat and looked out of place and slow on so many plays
  19. Bad times in that sports market. He swatted a hornets nest of frustrated sports fans who probably want/need to attack somebody. While I guess he is just being a mouthpiece for John q sportsfan... lagreca comes across as a bit hot headed and too much screaming and calling him "garbage" too many times.
  20. Do we know who their flight staff is? What snacks they are getting? How much sugar is in the snacks? Can anyone answer? If not, there is definitely hijinks afoot
  21. I was thinking last year, they were on their way to become an historically-remembered team along the lines of the 85 Bears, 91 Redskins, 07 Patriots, etc... that got derailed due to injuries and logistical matters. It looks like they have a good crack at it again. With the way everything seems to be coming together at the moment on all facets of this team.... as well as their schedule, this could be the year. I saw the 'bold' predictor guy on ESPN changed his prediction for the Bills from Deonte Harty would be their 2nd most productive receiver to 'They will win 15 games'. If the Bills win 15 games, I would say they would be very difficult to beat out for the Super Bowl.
  22. Thats a shame for New England and Gonzalez. He looked pretty good in his first few games. At least it isnt his wheels and he should be just fine.
  23. Sign him and put him at shutdown cb
  24. Probably not exploitable unless he is standing a certain way pre-snap. As mentioned, by the time defenders react to what diggs is doing, they are probably behind the play already
