Bills now Vegas betting favorites to land Derrick Henry
May Day 10 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Henry could change this offense. Wont have to lean on him heavily. Him and cook could be a pretty dynamic combo and take pressure off of Allen/Diggs and force the defense to respect the run a lot more. At first I scoffed at the idea but it might be worth a shot -
Kind of a change from the usual topics There is a new batch of these, they had them for 4 years, but not sure they have them for 2023. The Seahawks commission artists to create posters for each of their games like you would see for concerts. They look great, and I wish the Bills could do the same, especially since Buffalo is a supposed artistic hub. A lot sort of remind me of those old AFL programs. Its probably a good thing the Bills/artists dont do this because I would probably need to buy them all. https://www.seahawks.com/game-day/posters/ https://amesbros.com/seattle-seahawks

OT…the 2013 draft first round maybe the worst ever
May Day 10 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
2nd round you had Zach Ertz, Darius Slay, Geno Smith, Leveon Bell, Jamie Collins, Kawann Short, and Eddie Lacy (lol) 3rd round Travis Kelce-Swift Keenan Allen, Terron Armstead, and Tyrann Mathieu weird draft in hindsight -

This season is a wash…time to focus on rebuild m

They need to do some self evaluation if this slide continues. They have a lot of old, slow, injury prone on the roster and salary cap bloat is rearing its head -
If the Bills Don’t Make it to the AFCCG, Should McDermott Be Fired?
May Day 10 replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
I also think if they had a #2/1A WR, everything would be different and the Bills would be 6-0 and cruising. This has been a CLEAR need since mid-season last year when Davis didn't take a step forward. -
If the Bills Don’t Make it to the AFCCG, Should McDermott Be Fired?
May Day 10 replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think McDermott stands a chance to be fired, barring some sort of tire fire lockerroom issues that result in the team missing the playoffs, or maybe even limping in as the 7th seed and getting beat handily in the WC round. Do I think he 'should' be fired if they dont make the AFCG? I think it depends on how that looks and the circumstances around it, and what happens in the AFC Divisional Round. What deficiencies of the team prevented them from moving forward, etc. I think they need to be very careful in removing and replacing McDermott. I do think his culture thing is real and the players have respect and like playing for him, which in a lot of ways offsets the things that make Buffalo unappealing to NFL players (Allen has a hand in that too). Just look at the contrast of that fat man Brian Daboll reaming out his players and throwing them in front of the bus vs how McDermott handles things. -

Schopp & the Bulldog (and kind of a catch-all WGR thread)
May Day 10 replied to Jim's topic in Off the Wall
I agree 100%. I loathe when people talk about their fantasy teams. My brain shuts off. Same thing when people talk about their golf games. Stop! I like to place the occasional wagers... but constant betting talk is so dull. It is people on the radio pretending they know what a good buy is, whether it is a team at 3.5 and jumping on it if it gets to 3. Really? This isnt investing. How many people are actually making money betting on football games? I also notice gambling talk is very sly in that they never disagree with one another or debate, lest people question the 'investment' and get uneasy. The sponsors wouldnt like that. -
IF Allen Tried to Force His Way Out of Buffalo...
May Day 10 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ill bite. I think in these cases (Rodgers, Wilson), there are plenty of public knowledge/rumors of the QB being unhappy and frustrated before a move goes down. If/when Allen is ever unhappy, and feels he needs to go above the coach, I think he would/could go to ownership to request change, in which case it would be on Pegula to indulge the star QB or get the backs of the coaching staff/management. It wouldn't be a thing Allen decides overnight and suddenly starts to demand a trade. IMO Buffalo ownership would probably work with him. -
The more I think about it, the more I think daboll looked like he is out of his depth with being a hc. The way he showed up tyrod was pretty crummy and players take notice. McDermott wouldn't have scolded him on national TV and would have buffered/absorbed blame for the end of the half. "There was communication issues" or "they need to evaluate and improve in all aspects" Yada Yada. Maybe even take blame himself. Players take notice
-
I thought tyrod played admirably and was a warrior out there. Threw some nice balls and evaded trouble at times. For a 34 year old qb who has seen very little action in recent years taking the helm of a sliding, injured team in a hostile environment he did great.

I dont think it was that egregious. In ultra slo mo it looks worse than it really was. They could have thrown a flag for sure, but it shouldnt be an outrage that they didnt. Giants fans should be furious about the Giants' clock management fiasco in the final minutes of the 1st half. Daboll bungled that thing up long before the goal line.

I couldnt believe that either. I thought I mis-heard it.

Schopp & the Bulldog (and kind of a catch-all WGR thread)
May Day 10 replied to Jim's topic in Off the Wall
Yeah. I think Schopp is a really good broadcaster. Good voice and he can carry a show by himself if need be, which IMO takes talent. Listen to Bulldog when Schopp is on vacation and I feel bad for him. Often they will try to get Sal or Hamilton to sit in with him for hours at a time. Schopp's schtick is also 'show me some tangible proof' to back up your point/statement. That frustrates a lot of people and people who want to call in with their own fake trade proposals for Connor McDavid. The gambling and fantasy talk bores me though. That show in general is very paint by the numbers and repetitive. I actually kind of like when they go on a tangent away from sports because it is something different (I only typically listen on my commute home). Bulldog, while he seems like a nice guy and all, really doesnt seem to particularly enjoy his job and he doesnt seem to put any effort in. I think Jeremy White is terrific. Duff and Biron do a fantastic job covering an irrelevant franchise every day. I think Brown is very good, but Tasker annoys me and seems to come in and just fly by the seat of his pants... it pains me to say because I loved him as a player. The young guys all sound the same to me. I cant tell them apart. I almost always like their young staff to be honest because they are young, hungry, and put effort into their content. They might even stray into subject matter that isnt 100% Bills, Sabres, or NFL. Contrast that with Bulldog who hasnt left his attic to go to work in 3.5 years And my last point... I wish the radio station strayed more from the Bills, NFL, and Sabres a bit. I would like hearing more about MLB, NBA, NCAA Football, Bandits, UB Bulls, you name it. Part of the great experience of the Empire Sports Network was that you have to wait through other stuff knowing that the Bills talk would be at the top of the hour and you had to watch some other content. -

That happens though. Breakups get ugly, especially if the people are stuck in the same work spaces for most of their waking lives. It would be similar if the genders were reversed here. If the male was the lower rank, he could throw crap at the female supervisor. The person can throw all sorts of allegations, and it becomes a he said/she said thing. They also can perceive unfair treatment due to the breakup in any number of manifestations which may or may not exist I would say the company is also at risk for the superior to exact some sort of retaliation toward their ex. Possibly even going psycho and assigning themselves to projects together and making work uncomfortable/uninhabitable.

1OA Qbs since 1990. How many are tank-worthy? Carson Palmer Eli Manning Alex Smith Jamarcus Russell Tim Couch David Carr Sam Bradford Jeff George Alex Smith Mike Vick Matt Stafford Andrew Luck Cam Newton Drew Bledsoe Bryce Young Trevor Lawrence Baker Mayfield Payton Manning Joe Burrow Kyler Murray Jared Goff Jameis Winston I would argue that maybe only Peyton Manning turned around his team. Andrew Luck grabbed the keys to an already decent car (however suffered injuries and left the league). Joe Burrow is great, but he has Chase and Higgins. He has also changed the fortunes of the Bengals though. Carson Palmer also gave the Bengals some decent seasons after a desert of ineptitude.

I think you have a forward thinking leadership, start building a good org, then find a high trait, superlative qb in the draft who has it between the ears. A poorly run team can't fall on their face, grab Caleb Williams, and everything else will follow suit with the same management making the same mistakes.
