I wouldn't pick the bills.. but beating the eagles after this win would give them all the confidence heading into the much needed bye. Playing the chiefs of the bye and they aren't the same. Then a home game with swagger and a frenzied crowd. At that point its a snowball rolling down a hill, like the bengals last season. Nobody in the afc really frightens me like the eagles and 49ers.

If the bills beat Philly, they are going to run the table. Period.

That run was crazy. I remember looking at the schedule and the worst 4 or 5 teams in the league were ahead. In one game, they held the Browns to -3 pass yards and 26 yards of offense

It helps, but the fact is the Bills need to win games against good teams. In the past 2 months they have struggled and lost against bad teams. If the Bills win games, they get in.

Is there any precedent with an NFL QB tearing a ligament in his hand? Sounds like it could be tough to come back from and be the same.

This was absolutely 'their year' the same as ours was last season. Now they have to pay a lot of Bills. Burrow's money goes way up, Higgins is a FA, and Chase is coming up for a raise quick

The AFC seems ripe for the pickings this season. Its a shame the Bills have stumbled so much. Maybe the Ravens are the team to beat?

For me it would take a win here and a win in Philly. Heading into the bye I would be pretty bullish Honestly don't expect it to happen though

The biggest of the big was 13 seconds. Just a huge stage and forever put us on the losing end of one of the greatest games ever. The craziest I can remember was the Dallas MNF game. A specific sequence of things needed to happen in order for them to lose that game. Minnesota last year was similar. Like a series of 10 things that all had to go a certain way in order to ensure defeat Some that may have been glossed over/not mentioned: The "Kevin Everett game", the opener when the Bills should have won and Denver had a fire drill to get the kicker out, barely got the kick off and hit the game winning FG. What a kick in the gut. An OT game against a good Baltimore team. All I remember is driving in Overtime and Shawn Nelson was held up in mid air, forward progress stopped for about 5 seconds, then Ray Lewis ripped the ball out of his hands, Baltimore recovered and it counted. Stevie Johnson's OT drop that started "Bills Mafia" "Just give it to them" was surreal The Houston playoff game was also a bizarre and very cruel loss. Ronnie Harmon The "Aaron Rodgers" game was also kind of a gut punch way to lose with the turnovers, Zach Wilson, and having the game in-hand pretty late, only to lose on a PR touchdown. And don't forget... getting steamrolled by Pittsburgh's second and third stringers at home in the final game to be eliminated from the playoffs (which was analytically the best team ever to miss the playoffs)

Its a shame. A classic franchise way over 100 years old has no place in Las Vegas.

I dont know. It isnt my job to vet them. I want to hesitate to just blurt out known names. What I do want: An offensive oriented coach - that way you get a team offensive-oriented and you dont need to lose OCs every few years when your offense achieves what it should Innovative - someone out of the lines of what we see out of the "Shanahan tree". They can look at a unicorn like Josh Allen and essentially make him unstappable. Attention to detail - We cannot have these crazy shortcomings happen that we have beaten to death on the forum (we all know the list). Maybe have a special department that covers contingencies and every situation that may occur (and can tell them to not do things like challenge a 75/25 8 yard catch when timeouts are crucial) Process and Player-oriented - dont want a loudmouth bully. I like how our players feel valued here and it is something that has set the Bills ahead of a lot of peers. McDermott does seem to fit a good balance of being liked and respected by his players. Open to adaptation and change - the team and league will change over the years, may have to change styles or re-think strategies. NFL Experience - to some degree. Coaches right out of college often have difficulty adapting from being a king to dealing with mega-millionaire adult men Pegula (and Id assume Beane) should interview many candidates and score them in these categories.

This part is pretty irritating. He spends a lot of energy putting down 'callers' as if he isn't just a 'caller' himself. All he does is yell into the microphone. Last week it was putting people down 'fire the OC? OK, who are you going to bring in now? I thought so, good bye". Sal and Tasker are both unbearable during rough times. My favorite take of Tasker's last week was "this team is going to win a ton more games this season". Listen to Chris Brown as someone who can levy criticism at the team in a measured way and feel secure about himself. This is super irritating too. Its a straw man crutch he uses to put down any criticism of the team

I do not believe this is accurate, although it was my first reaction. It would make sense for McDermott to save that bullet for the end if he is in self preservation. I also don't think it was the players because 2 key non-offensive coaching functions were directly responsible for them losing the game (12 men and Cover 0). It was likely Pegula demanding something be done.

Absolutely not. Too many preventable meltdowns in close games... many of them in bizarre fashion. I have zero faith in McDermott or anyone he puts in his staff to keep things buttoned up. There are also legitimate questions that he butted heads with dabol's aggressive offense and is hell bent on trying to return to 1978 football

No gut punch. It's a shame this franchise seems to have squandered a 3 year super bowl window, but it has been clear for some time (maybe the last 19 games?) This team doesn't have it. I was not upset after the bengals playoff game. The better team won. Last night was the same bills as we have seen for months. No surprise. They had no business winning that game. Even if they won, it just keeps hope alive for another week and they could lose to wilson again. They are not beating the eagles, kc, chargers, cowboys, or miami. I am not disappointed because I have known for awhile the Bills are paper tigers That blitz? 12 men? Bad ST play? 4 turnovers? The bills deserve that loss. It's justice

We will see. This could be Pegula demanding something happen while watching his $258 Million quarterback withering on a vine in his prime. If thats the case, I could actually see a coaching change on black monday if this 'streak' continues.
