  1. all this does is maximize the Bills disadvantage... in April
  2. it looks like I can make most or all of the games. however, Im thinking of ditching my season tickets once and for all. Seeing the Bills allow themselves to start out at a disadvantage (Playing the Jets in Toronto), makes me really dislike the organization
  3. this is ludicrous. Another "home" Divisional game down the stretch in Toronto. sell the team or just die.
  4. they lost me about 6 years ago. it just got too repetitive, predictable, and stupid.
  5. planet hollywood. A+. Ive stayed there. Im going again. Great rates, and a nice, happening place. I love it when they parade all the hot chicks to deal the tables and dance after 10PM Bellagio sports book might be the best. PH was also good. one of my favorite things to do late night if things were slow... you go to a bar in the casino, play/milk 25 cent hands of video black jack, and get 12$ drinks for free. You just people watch, and people come in and you have some wild conversations with people from all over the world. You will also likely speak to the occasional hooker which is interesting. Just be VERY careful for your drink tabs. Drinks in the casino are like $10 retail. Also, be VERY mindful where you eat. It could make a huge difference. You can walk in a restaurant and spend $80 a plate for mediocre crap, but 10 feet away, spend $5 for some really good grub. my first time, I really hosed myself in those 2 categories.
  6. yes, but the merch department, at least when I worked for the Bills, was totally reactionary to personnel movement news. In the FO, very few people know anything juicy, and the merchandise department is a few degrees away from that.
  7. yeah, they cant even keep a NY Penn League baseball team in Niagara Falls. No thanks. People took some off the cuff remarks by blabbermouth Jim Kelly too seriously. Outside of traffic and parking, does it really matter where the stadium is when we are taliking of a 20 mile or so radius? And traffic would be a serious detractor for any location in NF. I drive from Philadelphia for games, and on Monday I see people's vehicles decked out in Bills stuff returning from the game all the way past Syracuse. If its the NHL or MLB, you would need the stadium/arena near a place that is more convenient to get to. You have a lot more games, and games on weeknights. In the NFL, convenience of location isnt nearly as important. 8 games a year, driving an extra 10 minutes isnt going to make a difference. I also fail to see how the Rainbow Bridge is closer to Canada than the Peace Bridge. If we are fortunate enough to get to that point, I would bet the stadium would be built in downtown Buffalo or Orchard Park.
  8. im not a huge Edwards fan... but no way do I want the Bills giving that up for Cutler
  9. the merchandise department is usually the last to find out about personnel moves.
  10. wow. i wonder if you made your account to get a rise out of people and try to get attention.
  11. Im not sure if any of these QB's would interest me. If things go south this season, I could see the Bills possibly making a play for Bradford or mccoy, but this year it wouldnt make sense to jump at a qb in round 1
  12. Anybody mention the possibility of Bob Rich Jr. He is actually the wealthiest person with strong ties to Buffalo. A great sports fan. I always suspected that his silence during the Sabres bankrupcy period may have been a sign he was holding out to move on the Bills. Anyone know of any ties between Jimbo and Bob Rich Jr.? Also, I would have more doubts of Jimbo if he just mentioned this once or a couple times. But the fact that he repeatedly says this gives me comfort that he has something legit up his sleeve. I dont think he would risk coming off like a botard when the time comes and his big investors are Thurman Thomas and Steve Tasker.
  13. I currently run a FF league, going onto its 6th year. We have a really light keeper policy. Basically it amounts to teams having anywhere from 0-3 keepers, none of which are very impressive. Someone has Michael Turner, I have Rivers, someone has got Braylon Edwards, those may be the 3 best. I have been approached by a few owners to make the league a full-on keeper league. We would be allowed to roll over our current keepers to the new policy. But I would like some ideas for what to do. Maybe keep 6-10 players. Im looking for a good, balanced system. Plus Im always interested in hearing about different leagues
  14. the Buffalo News ran an article maybe a year ago which said as much about 2010.
  15. I used to work for him.
  16. I am in the school of thought that in order for the Bills to turn the organization around on the field (which would translate to better $), they need to enlist the services of a Parcells or a Cowher. Someone who could take the reins and commit to a true direction. Too bad Donahoe was an idiot
  17. I had some software issues early on. The thing would go funny and I would have to hit a reset button and it would reload. It happened maybe 4 times. Not too bad, but it happened during the Bills/Rams game. There was a software update that came through and that hasnt happened since. We have had some hellacious rainfalls/electrical storms, and a few ice storms and I have never had a weather-related stoppage. Yeah, I turn on that HDNET sometimes because something catches my interest, only to find out I dont get it. It looks pretty good.
  18. Im paying about $130 a month. I have a HD DVR Box, and a regular connection in another room. I have all the movie channels and everything I need. Pretty much every station I watch has an HD version (networks, animal planet, nfln, nhln, center ice package, discovery, etc...) There is an extra HD package add-on which I dont know what possibly could come with it. There is also an add-on sports package (which I also have no clue... might be the regional sports networks). I have their highest tier (without those 2 add-ons) Usually if you order, you get something along the lines of free equipment, and free Sunday Ticket for the 1st year. I love it. The only thing that cable has that DTV lacks is the On Demand, and no Howard TV. DTV has pay per view movies and events though. Its nice because you can just order from your CPU. You can also control your DVR online.
  19. for me, I have a huge open South sky. I asked my apartment office if it is permitted. They said yes, but they cant drill or bolt. So Directv clamped the dish/pole securely to my wooden porch/railing thing. They ran all the cords underneath/in the corner of the door way and anchored them down so the door opening/closing isnt affected, and all is good.
  20. having Russ Brandon making personnel decisions/provided input is a joke
  21. I am seeing this everywhere with Cable companies. These disputes with channels, them blaming the entire problem with the channels, then not providing their customers with the channels. Always the channels fault. On top of that, every cable company I have dealt with has been a task. Comcast's weekly calls "offering" me the Triple Play Package no matter how many times I said no, and sending me junk mail offering the package that I am forced to open because they are disguised as bills. Charter Communications hitting me with a Collections Company for $12.00 (4) years after I had moved... (never knew I owed it, I wasnt hard to find). I see what Time Warner has pulled in Buffalo. I cancelled the Comcast TV service because my price doubled and there was all sorts of hidden charges. I asked if I could get on a deal and they said no. I went to Directv and told Comcast I would like to keep the internet, but they said because I no longer had cable, my internet bill would go from $40 to $65 a month (but I could sign up and not use the most basic cable package for $13 to get the discount), so I cancelled that too. Im sure Directv has its horror stories, but they have been nothing but helpful every time I have called. They came out for installation very quickly and the guy was very pleasant even though I made his life difficult (cant bolt anything in at my appt). The Bills come in and I am getting charged exactly what I expect. There is at least 3X as many HD channels.
  22. I dropped Comcast for Directv about 7 months ago and it was a great decision.
  23. well, who wants a team? Toronto and LA. Is there anywhere else that is a slam dunk over Buffalo due to revenue. The NFL still isnt a sure thing for fans. It has to build fan bases too. If you put a gun to my head, and I had to choose the correct scenario, I would say the Bills move to Toronto by 2014.
  24. I like to think either Jacobs or Rich will swoop in and save the day. Or possibly the Jim Kelly plan whatever that may be has truth to it. I think it there is a willing buyer, the NFL will allow the Bills to stay.
