It wasn't "lucky" at all. They had to overcome a lot of bad fortune, calls were not in their favor, and a few major mistakes. All week I knew they were in danger of losing this game. With the chargers' embarrassment and coaching change, also a mini bye for them. Bills a short week with the cross country trip. Had the makings of an ambush.

Collinsworth made it sound more dangerous than it was. A few frames later, more Bills were in over there, and as you mentioned, benford was pretty much free and clear and has the sideline

To answer that, put yourself in the shoes of a fan of any of the other playoff teams. Rank the teams you would want to face. Even after that, the bills are a scary opponent

They gutted it out. I'll take any wins this time of year. Survive and advance. To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the commercial free quarter. They just filled the time with collinsworth and tirico babbling or throw it to the studio to show the playoff picture for the 45th time. Needed to plan those in-stadium breaks better for on-air content.

It's hard as hell to win games. There were a lot of tough circumstances going in to this one. Also fell on the wrong end of some officiating "luck". 3 Really bad turnovers though, no excuse for that. The mini meltdown on the punt at the 5 was annoying too

I figured the Sabres would come out with some fire after all the embarrassment. And Samsonov... woof

I think the majority thought Ullmark was good. Maybe even a/the franchise goalie. The thing with him and his free agency was that he was going to demand long term and some dollars, the Sabres would likely need to slightly overpay, and he had a dubious injury history to that point.

I would bet it will be from within. Maybe Appert from Rochester or Ellis as the interim. They will pound their chests at a 14-14-5 finish and remove the interim tag 4th of July week without any real signs of a coaching search

The GM with zero nhl executive experience, predictably, has failed. The coach with no nhl head coaching experience has failed. The team again finds themselves at the depths of the drought.

Lots of cowboys fans there. Nothing for them to cheer for at all. Just misery and shout songs

Just an amazing game. The evolution from 7-3 at halftime to 38-37 was insane. By the 4th, North Central couldn't be stopped and could score at will. Boyes always had an answer to keep Cortland ahead. Then it came down to a gutsy call to go for 2 and Cortland finally stuffed NC. The jubilation, with some disbelief mixed in by the Cortland players and coaches was fun to watch, contrasted with the crying from the gut of the NC players. It was really sports at its finest. Both teams were terrific and fun to watch.

What a great football game! Cortland! Unbelievable
