  1. If I am Adams, I am resisting the Jets (if he has any say). I know he had a good experience in Green Bay in the past, but Rodgers is clearly struggling physically. There also seems to be quite a bit of uncertainty there among management and among the players that needs to play out. Also factor in he is playing for a new contract and will have to play on that horrible turf for several games. Almost any other team mentioned looks more appealing to me.
  2. The Sabres drought is so much worse than the Bills drought. The Bills only had 2 terrible seasons in that and remained relatively middle-of-the pack. It is also harder to make the playoffs in the NFL than it is the NHL. There was one year there were 31 teams, 24 made it and the Sabres failed! I ran the statistical probability of missing the NHL playoffs the past 13 years based on the NHL's # of teams and playoff format. There is a .003% chance of missing for the past 13 years. 3 Thousandths of a percent. The Bills' drought was at .03%, which is pretty long, but the Sabres' drought is much more unlikely from a probability standpoint, thus a much bigger fail. It halves every year too, so if they miss this season, it would be at a .0016% chance. If they miss next season too (why not look ahead, Kevyn Adams is the GM), it would be .000825%
  3. Usually when a coach gets fired mid-season, the team is out of it, players are going through the motions, and the firing is not unexpected This is different. The Jets are a couple plays from 4-1 and they have been playing hard, especially on defense. As far as I know, salei was popular with the players, at least on defense. I'm sure the players know what has happened more than the public. If this was Rodgers' doing, this thing could blow up very badly. There is a lot riding on this game. If it's a slug fest and Rodgers turns the ball over 3 times and they lose, it will get juicy.
  4. 90% of Stephen King adaptations are trash and/or not true to the book(s). Carrie the original is a 'classic', but the newer one in 2013 was more true to the book (with a few modern technological details). The Shining deviates pretty far from the source material and misses several of the most-important themes. Misery is decent, but leaves out some of the most gruesome details. The Mist was great, but they inserted a shock-value end that overshadows the rest of the movie. I had heard Stephen King does not approve of Christine (and he approves of ANYTHING that brings him more cash). The Under the Dome series was a pile of poop, as was the new The Stand series. The Dark Tower was also some kind of alternate gobbledy *****. I havent seen the new Salem's Lot yet. The book is great, and shouldn't be all that hard to follow. Some of the images I have seen make it look like it may be a true adaptation.
  5. Rodgers blew up Salei. No doubt about it
  6. Thats not good at all
  7. Poltergeist - just horrifying for me as a kid in the 80s. Really tense atmosphere and edgy effects for the time. Insidious - pretty much the perfect horror movie. Tense throughout. Lighting, sound, etc turn everything up to an 11 for the entire movie. Terrifier - slasher flick, I'm usually not a fan of those... but terrifier perfected the genre. Art the clown is scarier, more brutal, and more mysterious than Freddy, Jason, Michael, etc. Low budget for the 1st one is a strength with edgier effects and cinematography. House of 1000 Corpses - the best of the trapped in a house with a crazy sadistic family genre. Rob Zombies best film, a tribute to the horror genre. Takes a turn toward the supernatural in the last act. Honorable mention: the day after, hereditary, grave encounters, get out, devils rejects, cabin in the woods, drag me to hell, saw, scream.
  8. Kincaid wasnt close. The odds of an overturn were zero, and it is pretty black and white. It would be egregious and incorrect to overturn the call on the field. It was clear the ball was shifting in Kincaid's hands, he didn't have possession when he was in the air, after his feet were in contact in bounds. Coaches deserve criticism yesterday for sure. This is not a topic that criticism is warranted. I'd rather not burn a challenge in the first half hoping the referee makes some sort of wild error I didn't pay enough attention to the replays of the cook play. My first instinct was it wasn't really close enough to watch the replays closely (I was in a restaurant with friends)
  9. The Kincaid one would have been a foolish challenge and we would be killing McDermott for it. Incomplete/out of bounds, clear as day
  10. I dont think they will do much in the short-term. Big-picture, this was expected to be a leaner year in which we hope to snake a wild card spot or Division title... and have a punchers chance in the playoffs. Next offseason will be the time to re-imagine some of these weak areas with cap room and assets.
  11. WR was a need when diggs was still here and producing. The wr room is a joke. Hollins is not a serious WR. MVS too
  12. Rodgers is shot. He looks physically incapable
  13. Maybe some day pegula will wake up and employ serious management
  14. Pretty much. New Jersey was up 3-0 early in the 2nd. They played a conservative collapsing shell after that and made some of the Sabres numbers look better. They were never really competitive Was very similar to so many games last year
  15. They're selling all this at an absolute high point right now. Imagine if we were in the days of EJ Manuel and they were asking for $9K for the right to buy your seat? Through the drought, lawless keg parties and cheap tickets sustained our attendance. Its a good thing for the Bills though. I would rather they make decent money to stay competitive and have a nice facility than move. As far as my tickets, still waiting to see what the 'ask' is. We currently have the cheapest tickets in the stadium right now.
  16. Completely predictable start of the season. Sabres-generated hype aside, this team pulled a 00's Bills again. A bunch of half-measures, internal promoting, and bringing in a comfortable head coach who has no other options and will put up with inept management because he is just happy to have a job. There is no standard of winning set by this organization. It is all a stall tactic because Pegula and Adams think that success is inevitable at some point in the future.
  17. I think you can argue just the same, that Hill and Waddle did as much or more to resurrect Tua, and also Achane and Mostert at the beginning of last year. To me, it looks like McDaniel had them humming, the league caught up, and the Dolphins had no other answer. I dont get why Tua goes down, and they get a free pass, while in the past year, we have seen Joe Flacco, Dalton, Browning, Darnold, etc all look serviceable. Tyrod's Giants werent even this pathetic. They still have Tyreek, Waddle, and Achane. Tyreek Hill was by far the best and most important player on the team, and I argued that he should have been runaway MVP last season before the slide. I am someone who a year ago felt jealous that Miami had this guy and a head start at the new-NFL. Now, that seems like folly, and watching him on the sideline, he looks lost. The reports out of Miami on how it is a country club would be concerning as well. I wouldnt want this guy anywhere near head coach of the Bills.
  18. He is way too rigid. Like he feels like he needs to stick every single point, and pronounce every word perfectly. He needs to relax, loosen his collar, and just have fun and let it rip. He isn't a QB any more, and trying to be perfect as a commentator is silly. Sometimes he will make a joke and fall on his face, or make a mistake. Its fine. Im kind of rooting for him to do well. I dont know, he looked really nervous the first week and I found it really human of him.
  19. Haha yeah. OMG Lindy Ruff shook Josh Allen's hand! He really does get Buffalo! Lets get cup crazy 2000.
  20. A great offensive coach gets more out of their offense than a touchdown in 10 quarters or whatever. Yes, backup qb... but they still have a lot of weapons. Tennessee had a backup qb and still managed to score 31 and win. This power outage goes back to the 2nd half of last season. There also seems to be a lot of smoke out of Miami that the team does not practice hard at all and it's a country club. I also think trying to treat players as friends and "teammates" is a weak way to manage. I know it's not 1970, but there needs to be a layer of authority
  21. My son is watching that receiver documentary right now. Adams seems 100% wanting to win a championship before he is done. I don't think he really cares as much about touches as he does winning
  22. It's silly to purposely avoid a great receiver due to some "everybody eats" mantra. Better receivers = better than. Everyone eats works better with a star level player added. If it's a cap or compensation issue, fine. If the jets, chiefs, or Ravens add him, I'm going to be sick
  23. Thats the most striking thing. I know he isn't the most animated or demonstratively emotional guy out there, but since the first half of the Bills game he has turned into a statue. He stands there, either with a blank look, looking down at his charts, or slightly shaking his head. There seems to be zero engagement with players or anyone else. Add in the hip clothing, haircut, etc and its a terrible look. This was a spot to maybe fire up the troops and inspire them. A prime time home game against a bottom-3 team (with possibly the league's worst team coming up next week). Its almost like he is purposefully looking pathetic to make people feel sorry for him or see him as above this, etc. The team's play follows suit. Id be freaking out crawling out of my skin if I were a Dolphins fan right now. And if I were the owner, Grier and McDaniel would be in my office through the night getting torn apart and told that this thing turns around this minute, no matter who the QB is. Tua being out is no excuse for the performances they are putting in.
  24. I watched the entire game last night as it was entertaining watching the dolphins implode. I'm not sure I've ever seen an nfl team so fundamentally broken. The closest thing I can think of is the last few Rex Ryan games in Buffalo when he knew he was a goner and the team mailed it in. It goes way beyond Tua. They commit stupid penalties, make stupid mistakes, show tangible signs of no effort. Even not knowing the rules and situational awareness. You also now see signs of hill checking in and out as he pleases and tantrums are coming out. Waiting for the other shoe to drop with him, Ramsey, and others. And it goes way beyond qb. They have had a few weeks to recover, and the titans aren't a great opponent. Tennessee lost their qb in the first quarter, their backup threw for 85 yards, and you can make a case Huntley outplayed him. They still have all these top end playmakers and no ball movement at all. They show McDaniel on the sidelines and he has a goofy look of purposeful stoicism. I think if you painted an x on the field, he does not move from that spot at all. To me it looks like awful body language, almost like he is above this and gives up. He is showing zero energy, and i would be furious if I were associated with the dolphins from owner to fan. There seems to be zero communication with players, and he doesnt seem to look anywhere but straight forward or at his play charts. Meanwhile, you have Callahan on the other side up 2 touchdowns, running around ranting and raving, spiking head sets. The team seems to have taken on McDaniel's personality in some way and its not good. This experiment has failed.
  25. I'd say, through the first 4 games, I couldn't imagine it going much better. I thought this was a year the bills would be relegated to a second class in the afc, and try to hang on for a playoff spot. The dolphins are fundamentally broken. The jets look like the bark was way worse than the bite. Both are in extreme win now modes. The patriots, if it works, still need a year or 2. The other beasts of the afc look pretty ordinary for the most part. It's possible/probable someone gets it together and goes on a roll. So the bills can be serious contenders this season. I think for a rookie, Coleman has looked good. Moving forward with all the young players, picks, and cap room, that gives beane and McDermott a great opportunity to build a 3 year powerhouse. In a division that may have 2-3 rebuilding teams in it.
