Unless Arizona comes up I see only Darnold and Rosen going in the top 11 picks. Browns and Jets going QB. Giants and Browns at 2 & 4 are taking a different direction, Broncos and Colts may use their position to trade out with a team like Arizona who may decline based on Mayfield, Allen, Jackson and to a lesser degree Rudolph being available and only Buffalo positioned to take a QB ahead of them. So I honestly see the Bills having their pick of Mayfield, Allen, Jackson or Rudolph at 12 and not seeing another highly probable QB team need other then Arizona at 15. The question is, if this scenario plays out, who do the Bills select?

Jackson is the QB in this draft that in my opinion is gonna be the one best remembered for success. Darnold will be a solid starter with a Matt Ryan ceiling Kirk Cousins/Andy Dalton floor. He can take a well built team to a super bowl and I believe he will do very well in Cleveland. Allen will be a boom or bust type, special arm talent much like Jeff George but may not have the intangibles to go as far as his arm could take him. His ceiling is Dan Marino and floor is Jeff George. I believe Arizona trades up to the 4th pick and grabs him and hopefully develops. Mayfield is an intriguing prospect, magnetic personality, very accurate and highly motivated to win. Can move and is a playmaker. Believe he'll make play outside the pocket and at times be spectacular. Ceiling is Drew Brees and floor is Tim Tebow. Think he will be a solid starter with the Miami Dolphins. Josh Rosen is the clsssic boom or bust guy. Great arm talent and if he avoids injury and becomes a great team leader he is a potential franchise guy with a ceiling of Ben Rothlisberger. His floor is an injury prone short career like Jake Locker. Believe he will QB the Jets and fail due to lack of talent around him. I believe that the Bills sprint to the podium with Jacksons name on the card when they pick at 12. In 2018 he gets a series or two each game in special packages created by Daboll. If McCaren crashes and burns as the starter Jackson will be the starter by mid-season. I expect some struggles at the beginning and may need a full year to develop into a top tier exciting starter. Ceiling is Michael Vick/Fran Tarkington with everything needed to lead the team to a Super Bowl title. The floor is a Kordel Stewart type who could fail at QB and be turned into a WR.

Rosen is injury prone and has had two concussions last year. His upper body needs work and for as pretty a pass he throws he locker room intangibles are questionable. With his opionins he may be a locker room problem and may rub teammates the wrong way. I'm concerned that with his families financial stability he may simply retire after another concussion. Mayfield is short and as we have seen over the past three seasons leads to issues seeing over larger players and he has nowhere the movement of Tyrod. Yes he is very accurate and is an inspirational leader, but short dosent get any better over time and I'm not sure he has the arm to succeed in Buffalo. My Mock had Washington because I believe DJ Moore is more of a slot guy, Ridley, Sutton and Kirk are going higher and my preferred receiver would be DJ Chark but I don't think he will be available. The rest of my picks fill needs and are based on the type of players the Bills covet. Give me your trade up offer for what you give up. Then mock the rest of our draft on the choices we have left.

What if their is little to no seperation between a QB. So we trade a bunch of valuable picks for a guy who may not be as good as the guy we draft staying where we are. Plus, why don't all you "trade the future at all costs" people discuss of putting a young QB on an incomplete team and expect immediate results. I read lots of trade up, but never read about the implications of how trading up impacts the roster for 2018. Please answer that question with facts and what the roster would look like, I doubt you can but at least the board would have a chance to see things from your perspective.

So, you move up, draft a QB with a very thin roster, and less then a stellar receiving group and a 29 yr old RB and an offensive line that's needs some fortification. Then watch him fail to produce at the level of last years team, injuries occur and because we traded our draft capital we have diminished depth, finish 6-10 and in your scenario don't have our first pick in 2019. Now, read my assessment and tell me the how yours will lead to improvement in 2018.

Browns at 1 and Jets at 3 are the only QB's I see going to the teams in the top third of the draft. Giants and Broncos I see trying to build for now. Noboby is gonna wanna pay the exhorbitant price the Giants will demand to go up to the 2nd pick. So I believe they will draft DE Bradley Chubb. The trade sweet spot is with the 4th pick. So let's look at the QB landscape. Browns take Darnold at 1, Jets take Rosen at 3. Leaving all the rest of the QB's available at 4. The team with the most draft capitol is the Bills and the team with the greatest long term need is Arizona. Do the Browns stay at 4 and draft Barkley? Do they field offers for the pick? For Arizona to go up it will cost them their 1st and 3rd in 2018 and their 1st in 2019. Browns could use at DT, CB and OT and also have three 2nd round picks to address those needs. The Bills to go from 12 to 4 could offer pick 12 and next years 1st to lock in their choice of QB. It really depends on how the Bills have them rated. I'd prefer to let Arizona come up to 4, save the picks and draft who falls to us. Nobody between picks 7-10 needs a QB, Dolphins at 11 just modified monies paid to Tannehill and moving on from him is no feasible for two years and have huge holes at DT and LB. Then, what time between 13-21 has a QB need at the top of their board, well let's see: 13. Redskins Alex Smith - No 14. Packers Aaron Rogers - No 15. Cardinals Yes (May trade up) 16. Ravens Joe Flacco No 17. Chargers Phillip Rivers No 18. Seahawks Russell Wilson No 19. Cowboys Zak Prescott No 20. Lions Matt Stafford No 21. Bengals Andy Dalton No If Mayfield, Rosen, Jackson and Rudolph slip past 11 which I think is going to happen, don't see a reason for Bills or Cardinals to give away future draft picks when a QB is gonna fall to them anyways unless they are locked in on "their guy" These are my thoughts, looking forward to yours.

I guess I don't see what Rosen brings that is so much better then Jackson. Have you ever watched the game tape on both these guys. When under duress in the pocket, Rosen takes the hits while Jackson has that ability to move his feet, reset and throw. He dosent take big hits and has escapability that Rosen dosent have. Jackson has a better arm and is behind Rosen only in accuracy. That's important, in fact critical but in a Daboll offense the RPO will be a very big aspect of what we do and I think an athletic QB with escapability is essential to our future success. If I was to rate the QB's in relation to what I've seen through their college careers, combine and pro days is: 1. Darnold 2. Jackson - Pro Day to come 3. Mayfield 4. Rosen 5. Rudolph 6. Allen

I would hope they wouldn't even try to go up from 12 to 4. We can get a better QB in Jackson at 22, and a stud LB at 12, plus a WR and other LB just by staying where they are. Bills have more ammo, no desire to waste the picks they have.

My god your take is idiotic. What is it about Rosen that you find so amazing? His arm is not that great, he takes a ton of hits, is injury and concussion prone and has the wrong mentality in my opinion for a QB. Plus is a California kid and come from a family that's very well to do. BTW - Josh Allen played at Wyoming you buffoon.

If the pick was Edmunds or Mayfield, I'd take Edmunds knowing I could get Jackson or Rudolph at 22

Teller is an ex DT and is mean and nasty road grader type to replace RI. McFadden is tall and rangy and fits into a zone scheme, Hill is big and powerful inside DT who can spell Star each game and Walker may end being a quality ST guy if he dosent develop at S. Very depressed to be honest with you. Darnold's pro day locked him as the top QB. Don't want anything to do with Rosen (concussion history and pocket awareness that will lead to more hits and concussions), Allen (Accuracy issues, two year minimum development time before he can even play), or Mayfield (Can't fix short and he's a stats guy playing in a system to give him lots of easy completions and played in an awful defensive conference, and is too high strung emotionally for my tastes) So, if we trade up to the 2nd pick I would be very unhappy.

With the unfortunate Zay Jones incident the Bills are now less inclined to give away draft capital. The list of needs has now expanded to both deep threat and slot receiver along with QB, CB, LB and DT. Salary cap money is limited and what would be required to move up is too costly to give any of the picks we currently have. I felt before this sorry excuse of public conduct that Zay would be much improved this year at the Slot receiver position. Now we are looking at probably a 4 game suspension for conduct and possibly even worse if drugs are involved. Its not all gloom and doom, outside of Darnold, the other three of the "big four" are flawed in ways that may not be correctable. Give me Lamar Jackson at 12, the LB Vander Eshe or Evans at 22. WR DJ Chark at 53, DT Harrison Phillips at 56, C Frank Ragnow at 65, CB Holton Hill at 96 and hopefully in the 4th WR Deshean Hamilton of Penn State

In watching lots of film and both of their games last year I prefer Jackson over Rudolph. Mason Rudolph - Big, good but not great arm, has excellent QB instincts, not much of a running threat but Delivery is relatively compact, excellent accuracy. Seems as though he has above average leadership skills. Concern that he played primarily in a simplified spread in a weak defensive conference and two NFL caliber receivers gave him a lot of easy uncontested completions. Will be serviceable in the NFL, but I don't think can rise above an average roster and make it a playoff team. I see a lot of Kirk Cousins in him as his ceiling. Worth taking at pick 22 Lamar Jackson - Good height at 6'3", needs to add weight and strength in a pro environment. Excellent arm, decent touch, not sure about him making all the NFL throws as he did not run an offense that used the deep outs at Louisville. Mobility is huge plus. Well schooled in playing under center, film shows he also has the unique movement inside the pocket, can shift his feet, stay in good throwing position and readjust to a new target and release. Ceiling is a Randall Cunningham with more in-pocket discipline. Needs one year in NFL weight room to add weight and strength. Worth taking at pick 12.

I'm totally in, we would have an awesome defense. Sadly I believe Edmunds is going to the Bears at 8. Vander Eshe is worthy of the 12th pick IMO. Maybe Rasean Evans at 22

Up into your last paragraph I thought your post was 100% spot on. If we make a deal to move up to 2 (our pick other then Darnold who's going to Cleveland) my offer is this. 12, 22 in 2018 and first round in 2019. Here is the reason why. Trade value assuming Buffalo's improved roster leads to a 2018 playoff team is between 20 & 32. The points from 12 & 22 equate to 1980, assuming 20 next year that's another 800. We would be overpaying by 180 points which is a late 3rd as the QB premium. I want 53, 56, 65, 96 and our 4th, 5th and 6th in 2018 to fill the following holes: ILB, WR, Slot Corner, 3 technique DT, OLB, RB, and S. As we have 100 million in cap space next year why do we need a 1st round pick which is probably 20 or worse when we have an extra 4th and 7th. Any areas of weakness in 2018 can be bought as the Bills should be a player on Day 1 of the 2019 off-season. Your Thoughts

What the Jets stupidly paid in current and future draft choices does not set the market. The difference between 12 Point value and 6 point value is 400 points. I would give 12, 53 and our 5th to move to 6. Not one thing more. Worst case is Darnold, Rosen and Allen go 1,2,3. Cleveland may trade out to Arizona at 4. If they take Jackson, I stay at 12 and draft best player available and keep all of my picks. i don't want Baker Mayfield as I see him with a much higher bust potential as a fit in Buffalo. id rather take my LB at 12 and WR at 22, then if necessary trade one 2nd and one 3rd to move up and get Mason Rudolph.

Rosen has taken a lot of hits, had two concussions last year. His personality is not considered a strength and to me seems a bit aloof. Comes from a very well-to-do family and his desire may wane if he gets hurt in the NFL, which is probable based on his collegiate history. Those issues preclude him as the best available QB of this group.

Goff and Wentz went to teams that had many of the pieces already in place. First year was tough for each. Then added resources to help build the teams for their current level of success. Also if Goff & Wentz were in this draft they would be head and shoulders above the QB's in this draft. Wentz would be much higher then Josh Allen, Goff would be higher ranked then Darnold. So each year, situations each team is in developmentally help define success.

A 30 yr old RB merits no better then a 4th round pick. What are u thinking or let me ask, what are you drinking

OK, taking your scenario. The Jets get their targeted QB. Of course they have just given away picks 38 & 49 which could have provided oh maybe an offensive lineman, high end receiving or running threat and let's not forget the I'm now sure very high 2nd round pick in 2019. Name a QB taken in the first round in the past 15 years who has a worse group of offensive talent surrounding him. Isaiah Crowell, Bilal Powell, Robbie Anderson, Jerome Kearney. In fact they just lost their TE. Their offensive line can be best stated as truly offensive and the front 7 on defense is so awful that their really good secondary is gonna get torched anyways. History has shown teams that draft a QB high with limited talent around them end up with QB busts. The sad thing is that the label is caused most probably by what surrounds him more then his own shortcomings. The thought is open to discussion
