They're going to have to extend him again and again every 2 years at this pace. He does deserve a pay raise and $8.5-$9.0 a year is not out of line with pro-bowl incentives worked in for extra $. Acheivable extra's based on performance is better than base pay, for the team.
That's why I went with ~ $11.5 M, it might be $13 M. Knowing Peters, he wants $50 M guaranteed as well. He can F-his fat self, let's get us some extra first rounders and people who are happy to be here.
The draft picks will most likely not be asking for $15 M in 2011 and $20 M in 2013, history being our guide and Peters mindset. This is never going to stop and he didn't play probowl ball last season, he made it on name.
We can probably fill 2-3 needs with the salary he wants, which means we can focus our resources on other folks that will not distract the team.
Peters is cancer.
If you think Peters is ever going to stop holding out / asking for more $ your crazy. This is going to be a " par for the course " event every 2 years or so. Cut bait and take all the early draft picks so we can get.
Too early to call it before we see who we get in the draft. T.O. Became available and the FO pounced quick, much to all suprise so there might be a new talent on the horizon. We are probably a few players away from .500, a blank that has to be filled.
How about his grandkids, he can field both sides of the ball. I don't just mean the game field, I mean the entire field with his G-kids. Travis will be the GM, of course.
I am proposing it.
Peters is a idiot and cannot be trusted for a long term commitment, therefore what do we have but another problem around the corner?? A early first round pick could fill another need & we can get a FA to fill his spot.
