  1. who are these players that have increased the talent level from 2008 by such a huge margin to challenge for #1 in the AFC?

The Bills basically added a 35 yr old WR who drops a lot of passes and may have already hit the wall. With his addition, you are convinced that the offense has become an unstoppable juggernaut even though the same clown coaches are running the show.

T.O. was the most productive WR (TD's) over the past 3 years against all the top defenses in the NFL. All the NFC east teams are 8th or better on total defense, just a FYI. Who was T.O. paired with in Dallas?? Losers that combined nearly equaled his stats. If you have 2 real threats going out on nearly every passing down (Evans / Owens), one of them will get single coverage or just be open. There is no way to really cover them all the time & if by some odd reason the defense does, plan on Trent running for 20 yards or someone else being open. T.O. single-handedly held Romo's head up, they just will not figure it out until this year.

The no-huddle type approach will allow for changes at the line scrimmage to adjust for different defenses / blitz packages as well, unlike what we have had before. Add in another year of the offensive experience for Turk / crew, Steve Johnson's solid hands, a new 6'5" TE target, the gift of Rhodes being out there if FJ or ML is not (so we actually have depth at RB / WR, which affords us the ability to play those positions hard and often) and we have a game changing deal.

  2. How could you forget this?

    http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=2934...&week=REG11

7 touchdowns in 7 possessions is not just getting killed. It's is being embarrassed, pillaged, humiliated, folded, spindled and mutilated.

2007 ?? They killed everybody in the regular season that year, how could you forget that? I was referring to 2008 and the fact that we didn't exactly get drilled into dozens of pieces, mind you they also didn't have a healthy Tom Brady is a known variant & understood.

  3. You'd be wrong. For lots of reasons, not limited to the simple fact that dominance doesn't start with a HOF QB.

And even if you were right...wouldn't say a hell of a lot about Jauron's coaching that he plays to not lose when he doesn't have good players. Could you even imagine Bill Parcells doing that? Did Belichick fold up like a cheap lawn chair when Brady went down injured?

We have not had raw talent like this on the field for ~20 years, seriously. We finally have multiple pieces of the puzzle coming together and I expect better results in general. The Steelers had the hardest regular season schedule in the NFL last season and did very well for themselves. We have to be ready to play any team at anytime and be competitive. Do you really think that the Pats even thought twice about playing us for the past several years?? They manhandled us because we brought nothing to the table to scare them. They didn't need to score alot nor did we get killed but what threat did we offer anyone to say, oh man not the Bills again.

Our lines got meaner, our offense is loaded for bear and our secondary looks as strong as could be and we have the best Special teams available in the NFL bar none. Our average starting position will probably be in the top 5 of all NFL teams and it gives us an advantage we have not been able to capitalize on until just this year.

Call me a homer if you will but I am calling it as it lies with a healthy squad (god willing), we'll be in EVERY game we play this year. There will be no blow outs against us and we will have our chances to win EVERY game. I think that our team has a chance to be a top seed, maybe even 1st depending on a few other teams play. We have too many ways to score and I plan on us seeing good leads that force our opponents to pass, which plays into our ball hawks hands. We are going to blow some teams out early and later but the foot will be on the gas for 60:00 minutes, count on it.

  4. Note the trend of that graph. Downwards.

Some fans are sick of their team being insignificant, and know it's got nothing to do with other fans opinions on various topics.

Unfortunately, that's reversing the cause and effect. Switching coaches every 2 or 3 or 4 seasons is the effect of hiring the wrong coaches in the first place. It's also not entirely accurate. The only head coach that has been fired in the last decade was Wade Phillips when he refused to fire assistants as Ralph demanded. Gregg Williams played out his contract, turned down an extension, and left. Mularkey agreed to stay on, saw changes he didn't like, and quit. And, Jauron is still here after 3 almost mediocre years.

Odd that you bring up Losman, who was the QB of the team in the 1st year, the year you started out saying was a "good season".

    Play it again, Sam.

    Classic stuff.

  5. When teams are evolving as fast as they are an easy schedule means squat in my opinion, this just in folks, Buffalo plays in a tough, competitive division and to borrow a phrase from DJ, its hard to win in this League.

There are allot of different variables that go into a winning season including weather and luck, I think is the point SKOOBY is trying to make, and yes, if you take players not use to snow and wind and you throw them into a game with 30+ winds and snow, chances are they may struggle.

It goes without saying that certain things like FG's in Blizzards are not going to work, so you have to rely on the best options you have on the team at that time to succeed. The more options you have, like great WR's & RB's, you use them. Without the talent on the squad, you're limited as per your options.

I'm glad that the Bills have taken a hard look at their roster and decided who is going to get dirty and play hard every game, that's all based on the FO's and coaches decision as to who ends up making the team.

  6. all i have to say is.... remember the "magical Teddy Bruschi comeback performance" (who would remember there was actually a game going on at that point...)

but the return of tom brady will make the return of bruschi look like nothing.

the entire broadcast will be all about brady. :vomit:

but yes... in my honest opinion we have a good a chance as ever to beat them on the home opener, brady will be rusty, and bellicheat has not had the chance to steal signals yet

+ commercials about wide right. That's par for the course on any prime-time broadcast.

  7. 7-9

It takes talent to make all the X' and O's of football to work in your favor. Draw it up all you want, inferior talent gets you nowhere in this league

Below .500 is where it got us. Both JP's (Peters / Losman) had us chasing our tails going no where and who has been our # 2 WR?? We had injuries on defense and idiots at the last minute opting for surgeries, just horrible timing.

A winning season is a combination of a talented team, playing teams at opportune times during favorable weather for what your players can handle. Jimbo was a prime example of a I don't care what the conditions are QB, Trent's strong enough to come around to that mindset with the right supporting cast (which I think he has).
