One of the best exchanges in Seinfeld history, in my opinion. I saw him in concert Jan. 7 in Indianapolis. It was outstanding.

Official Tom Brady thread
Indy Dave replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember that we are talking about football, not fantasy football. Remember that Brady does what he does with guys like David Givens, David Patten, Troy Brown, and Deion Branch. All of those guys are decent players, and maybe some of them are vastly underrated. But you could probably name 30 receivers in the NFL better than anyone on that list. Remember that the Pats won two Super Bowls, with Brady winning the MVP both times. Remember that Corey Dillon wasn't part of either of those two championship teams. In fact, they took a running back in Antoine Smith who really isn't good enough to start on most teams in the NFL, and won with him as their running back. Remember that Brady doesn't have the physical tools of a Peyton Manning, and doesn't have the athleticism of McNabb or Vick. He just wins games and the bigger the game, the better he plays. You act like Brady could go down and they could stick Rohan Davey in as their quarterback and not miss a beat. He practices every day so he has to know the system like the back of his hand. And if it's the system, then it must be true that the Pats would not miss a beat if the backup quarterback played. You are so wrong. Get over your jealousy and give the guy some credit. -
Yes, the Colts receivers dropped 7 balls, but
Indy Dave replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right on the money man. The guy can really, really coach. They have several players, even starters, who could sign with another team and disappear in terms of productivity. He takes guys like Mike Vrabel and dozens of guys just like him and turns them into solid contributors. -
Hard to argue with what you said re: Indy's game plan. But I think there were several factors involved....poor field position, poor field conditions, poor weather conditions, the time of possession dominance by New England, and most importantly, New England's scheme. They took away the area outside the numbers and funneled everything inside. That allowed the Pats' linebackers to be a major factor.
-
Obviously Ty Law and Richard Seymour would be starters if they were in Buffalo. But of the 11 players who started today for New England, how many would be hands-down starters over the 11 we start? I don't think there are too many of them. Another example of what a great team and coaching staff they have.

Cant wait for Vick, Roth, or McNabb to show
Indy Dave replied to JP-era's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares if he lays an egg? He can play average football. What he won't do is make poor decisions that lead to turnovers. He won't try to do too much other than to just give his team a chance to win. When the defense plays like they did today, Brady doesn't have to do much at all. Manning is the most gifted quarterback in the game. He is a class guy and prepares for every game as if it's the biggest of his career. He has two good tight ends, a great back, a superb receiving corps, a very good offensive line.....and the Colts scored three points. My point is, Brady doesn't have to play great football for the Pats to win. It's a team game. He doesn't win by himself, but he also doesn't do things to get his team beat. -

You're insane with jealousy. Either that, or you're f***ing crazy. If Brady played for the Bills, you would worship the guy along with me and every other Bills fan. The guy is a winner. He may not be the most gifted quarterback in the NFL, but he has "it." Tom Brady is the Derek Jeter of the NFL. Everyone who doesn't root for the teams they play for hates them, spouts off crap about them being overrated, points out every flaw, thinks this player and that player is better than them, etc. But in the end, they just win. Not to mention, they do everything with tremendous class, are team players, hate to lose, know how to handle the media. Oh, and they get all the girls too. Keep hating Tom Brady. You know you'd rather have him as our quarterback than Drew or J.P. -
And people don't think this is a Dynasty?
Indy Dave replied to buffalo mike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brady is 7-0 in the playoffs. The Patriots are the best-coached team in the history of football. I will be surprised if they lose to Pittsburgh. Stranger things have happened, but I'm going with New England. -
That's the easy way of looking at it. The Jets had the ball at the Pittsburgh 26 with about 1:20 left and they had all three timeouts. They settled for a 43-yard field goal. Not many kickers have made a kick from that distance in that stadium, especially a visiting kicker in that pressure situation. I thought the coaching got way too conservative and my guess is that Jets' fans will agree.
-
I thought Ben looked OK (just as he did most of the season, when he wasn't as spectacular as many made him out to be) until the interception that put the Jets ahead. From there, he looked like a rookie. No touch, throwing off the wrong foot, etc.
-
He's in the witness protection program, right along with the guy from LSU we drafted to be his replacement.
-
Curtis is a good No. 3 receiver, averaging about two catches a game, but coming on as of late. He's very fast. Their other white wideouts, their fifth and sixth receivers, have caught 14 passes (combined) this year.
-
I suppose I agree with that. For one thing, Pittsburgh winning at New England would be surprising. I think the Steelers are done next week, regardless of who wins the Colts-Pats game tomorrow.
-
Sorry Simon, but if I'm a Pittsburgh fan, my first response to your post is..."We're 4-0 against NE, the Jets and Buffalo, including beating your asses on your home field when you had everything to play for, we had nothing to play for, and we played our backups for a large portion of the game." I was for the Jets, but let's give credit to the Steelers. They gutted the game out and got a win, which is all that matters. Right? Take out two plays (interception and punt return for Jets' TDs), and Big Ben doesn't have to throw the ball down field. Then his stats are a typical 12-20, 120 yards and a touchdown. But because the Jets put him in a situation where he had to throw, he made some mistakes. Still, his team won. Just playing devil's advocate here.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new Bills fan!

Would you trade McGahee and Spikes...
Indy Dave replied to sfladave's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not really this simple, but would you trade two $100 bills for one $100 bill? I love Peyton Manning. Just got back from the game, as a matter of fact. (I bought a ticket hoping I'd be at the Dome rooting for the Bills. Oh well.) For those of you who think all that "barking" Manning does is all for show, you're wrong. There is a rhyme and reason to much of it, even if some of it means nothing. The dilemma for the defense is that they have no idea what is worthless chatter, and what is a change of play at the line of the scrimmage. Having said that, Takeo is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Willis just topped 1,100 yards in what was basically his rookie season. I hate the word upside, but Willis McGahee has a lot of upside. If we traded Willis and Takeo for Manning, I don't think that guarantees much, even a playoff spot, let alone a Super Bowl. I believe that defense and a running game is more important than a superstar quarterback. Therefore you don't make that trade. -
Liked Ocean's 11 a lot (the one with Clooney, Pitt, etc.-- never saw the original). I thought Ocean's 12 was a disappointment. It's not terrible, but I didn't think it was very good. Liked Meet the Parents, want to see Meet the Focker's but have not yet.

Travis Henry vs. Shaud Williams
Indy Dave replied to KurtGodel77's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have GOT to be kidding me. Shaud Williams compared to Travis Henry? Now I've heard it all. Using your logic, we should try and see if Tim Tindale has any gas in the tank. After all, he shredded the Dolphins after they laid down and quit, much like Shaud did against the 49ers. I've got no problems with Shaud, but to compare him to Travis Henry is crazy. Travis had more yards last season (and the season before) than Shaud will have in his entire career.
