  1. What the hell are you doing up at this hour?
  2. All that I remember from that game is that Bruschi (We're not worthy!) threw four first-half touchdowns, but he had to fly back to Arizona at halftime for a kegger that night. Actually my memory of that game was my girlfriend trying to make me feel better by predicting a comeback. I told her I'd marry her if it happened. That's her in my avatar. I guess I'm a man of my word.
  3. Well, that's lovely.
  4. Corey Simon is doing just fine. He's still playing his way into game shape, but he's been effective. He's occupying guys and it's freeing up other defensive linemen, and those guys are making plays. Then there's Freeney, who is making plays left and right. Indy has a pretty good DL rotation. They are certainly playing better than our DL, which has been awful the past two weeks.
  5. Lindell continued to shine. Moorman continued to struggle, by his standards anyway. Our defensive line played like a crap, which in turn made our linebackers struggle. Troy Vincent had his worst game in a Bills uniform. Takeo was lost for the season, which made a bad day a simply awful one. Frankly, I don't know how our defense is going to bounce back without that guy's ability and leadership out on the field. J.P. and the receivers couldn't exploit the fact that the Falcon secondary were dropping like flies. The biggest plus was Willis McGahee. Not only did he pretty much keep his mouth shut last week while his own coach repeatedly called him out, but he showed his competitive side by coming out and having a very good game. He blocked well and ran extremely well. He could have sulked, but he didn't. But outside of Willis and Lindell, there wasn't much else to cheer for. People will blame Drew Bledsoe, Travis Henry, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, bad breaks, crooked refs, genital warts, and anything else on the loss. I don't know who or what is to blame. I just know that we were within striking distance the entire second half, yet I never thought for one second that we were going to win unless there was a defensive or special teams touchdown. It just didn't have a feel of a game we were going to win.
  6. I was just telling a co-worker about Duckett's first carry of the game, when he steamrolled Milloy. That had to hurt. I am a Vincent fan as well. Unfortunately, guys have days like he did yesterday. I think yesterday clearly showed though that Vincent is in the right position. On plays where he was forced to cover receivers (specifically Finneran), he got beat. Those cover skills have diminished. I think the injury to Dez White that forced him out of the Atlanta lineup actually helped the Falcons yesterday. Finneran's size and reliable hands helped Atlanta immensely yesterday.
  7. No, he was not trying to call a timeout. He was pounding his fists together, which was supposed to tell Vincent to move over and assume the responsibility of covering the receiver. Vincent was awful yesterday. That's the worst game he's had since he arrived.
  8. 24-14? Eight field goals by Lindell?
  9. It's hard to take that list seriously. It's completely misleading. Tomlinson is on the hot seat? Moss? Seymour? Those are three of the best players in the league, regardless of position. Ahman Green, Deuce McAlister, Kevin Mawae...hardly guys who should be considered on the hot seat. Then you throw in a rookie running back in Brown and a basically a rookie quarterback like J.P....can they play in more than two games before they get placed on the hot seat?
  10. No way we should have kept both. Travis wanted out, and I don't blame him. It just would not have worked. Choosing between Travis and Willis wasn't that hard a decision for MM and TD, I don't imagine. I loved Travis and want him to do well in Tennessee, but Willis, with all his talent and potential, is worth the risk. Now it could turn out that Willis has more games like Sunday, when he ran like a wuss. Or the combination of his ego with his agent could lead to an ugly holdout sometime down the road. (Who would be surprised by this?) If he does play soft or holds out, I'm guess that people will long for Travis' toughness and the fact that he always wanted to be a Buffalo Bill. No matter, taking Willis was worth the risk, whether it pans out or not. Here's hoping it does.
  11. So scary I wasn't sure if it was a joke or not.
  12. Now that I'd agree with.
  13. And that's why you would fail miserably as a coach or general manager. Yes, some have more talent than Brady or Jeter, but you have to look at more than just talent. Guys like Brady and Jeter have "it." "It" cannot be measured, nor replaced. That's why they shine when it's all on the line, and that's why they are both winners. The only thing wrong with Tom Brady is that he plays for the Patriots. If he was a Buffalo Bill with three rings, he would be held in a higher regard than any player that has ever worn the uniform. It wouldn't even be close. Brady and Jeter are both great players, they are champions and MVPs, and they both win and handle all of the attention with class. People who hate them are, simply put, just plain jealous.
  14. From Pro Football Weekly's "Whispers Around the NFL"... Though Josh Reed was one of the seven receivers on the Bills' opening-week roster, word is he will have to impress the coaching staff in the first few weeks of the season in order to keep his spot on the team. That's because once rookie Roscoe Parrish is healthy enough to return, he will be in the lineup, filling the No. 3 WR role. Working against Reed is the fact that he doesn't play special teams.
  15. Gandy won't be confused with Jonathan Ogdan... Jonathan Ogden got whipped over and over last night. That happens when you are going up against Freeney, so I don't have a problem with that. But getting whipped is one thing....getting rattled is another. And Ogden was clearly rattled and let that affect his play with false starts and blown assignments. But nevertheless, you are right...Ogden is a great tackle. Just had a bad game last night.
  16. Last year, OLB Keith Bullock led the NFL with 152 tackles, one more than LB Donnie Edwards, who plays in a 3-4. The next three guys are all middle LBs...Lewis (147), Zach Thomas (145) and London (144). But tackles don't tell the whole story, obviously. I love London, but he's not as more valuable than Takeo just because he was credited with more tackles.
  17. Oh please. Ray Lewis is the best defensive player in the NFL. Ed Reed and Julius Peppers are second and third. Dwight Freeney, Richard Seymour, Roy Williams, Takeo Spikes are next, in my opinion. I'm not saying the media doesn't yap about him....they do. But at least he's earned it. And besides, how is it Lewis' fault if broadcasters want to carry on about him? Is he better than Singletary or Butkus? We can argue until we are blue in the face....what does it matter? The bottom line is, he's the best defender in the league right now.
  18. Glad to read that you are OK, Cajun. Hopefully you can enjoy the LSU game on Saturday and the Bills on Sunday...I'm sure the break from reality will be welcomed.
  19. Can anyone remember an NFL or collegiate team winning an NFL or NCAA championship while playing two quarterbacks (more or less) equally? I can't think of one, but I'm turning to my friends at TSW to see if anyone is aware of any.
  20. 9. Indiana Must be all those fried noodles flavored with pickle juice they eat around here.
  21. I came to the Wall this morning to read just that. I knew you'd be there Cindy. Thanks so much for sharing.
  22. Thanks everyone. I have checked ebay for years and could never find the combination I was looking for....a blue XXL jersey. I checked after posting this message and sure enough, there it was. It should be here in a few days. Hopefully I will be wearing a year from today when Thurman is getting inducted into the Hall of Fame.
  23. Does anyone know where I can buy a Thurman Thomas replica jersey?
  24. My team is the Cobra Kai's. Get 'em a body bag....YEAH!!
