Power outage? Against the CHARGERS. Perfect!

Happy birthday, Mike!

I like the center from Arkansas. I also like the tight end from Wisconsin. Not a corner.

Good post, Helmet. I'm still 6 weeks or so from finishing the three-month plan, but obviously want to stick to the routine I've fallen in with regards to when I eat, what I eat and, as you suggested, how much I eat. Weighed in yesterday and now I'm down an even 30 lbs.

Many thanks Cincy.

Yeah, it was a WHOLE year ago.

Uh huh. And Boston fans are so different. Mark Wahlberg on Mike and Mike this morning was the typical Red Sox fan, saying that he was fine if the Red Sox lost to Tampa because he gets to celebrate the fact that the Yankees missed the playoffs. And therein lies the difference between Yankee fans and Red Sox fans; we don't think about the Red Sox when we're playing a playoff series against another team.

I started NutriSystem on August 25 and have lost 26 pounds. The food is decent...not great but not awful. The portions are not that big, but they're not that small either. (FYI, I'm a big eater.) For $340, I got 35 breakfasts, 35 lunches, 35 dinners and 70 desserts. You go online and choose all of it, or they can send you their choies if you don't want to take the time to do it. I selected my own food...doesn't take too long to do so. Essentially, this is what I have every day: Breakfast: A NutriSystem entree (granola bar or cereal are my regular choices, although they also have oatmeal and a few different pastries or muffins), a piece of fruit, a dairy serving (I have a glass of fat-free milk or fat-free yogurt), and a carb serving (I usually eat a piece of wheat bread, dry). Mid-morning: Another fruit serving and another dairy serving. Lunch: A NutriSystem entree (they have various soups, some Ramen-type stuff, various pastas), and a salad with fat-free dressing. Mid-Afternoon: A NutriSystem dessert. They have chips, chocolate bars, pretzels...all kinds of stuff. Dinner: A NutriSystem entree (they have pizza, pastas, tacos, meatloaf, roast...lots of choices), a vegetable serving, a fruit serving, a fat serving (I usually just eat a handful of peanuts or almonds) and a carb serving (I will have another slice of wheat bread or a serving of canned corn). Evening (9 p.m. or so): Another NutriSystem dessert. I travel a lot with my job and I've taken some road trips for fun (once to Buffalo for the season opener, once to St. Louis for Bills-Rams, Wisconsin-Penn State last weekend, etc.). While I can't follow the above schedule 100 percent, I have been pretty disciplined. It's not easy. It was brutal turning down the great-smelling/looking food at the TBD tailgate, and the burgers udonkey was grilling in St. Louis. But I can tell you that the weight is coming off and I'm feeling good. Like I said, I've always been a big eater. I try to remind myself that nothing tastes as good as I feel with the weight off. There's still a ways to go. I'm sticking to this, knowing that there are going to be times such as the holidays and the constant travel during hoops season where I'm going to have to really be disciplined. But what this is doing is teaching me how to eat, what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat...which isn't a big secret, but of course is easier said than done. Oh...and finally, drink a lot of water. Minimum 64 ounces a day. You can have diet soda. I try to stick to just water. No alcohol...although I'm sure the occasional beer won't hurt too bad. Hope that helps anyone who is thinking about doing it. Glad to try and answer any questions if anyone has any. EDIT: I rarely have exercised during this time because of back problems. I'm going to slowly start working that in my routine once I drop a little more weight.

A few more... George (talking to Susan's stone at her burial site): And then, right after the All-Star break, we swept the Orioles. Four games. In Baltimore. So um...yeah. Newman (holding court with his fellow post office employees at the non-fat yogurt shop): Well I wouldn't hear of it. I said, "Nice try granny!" And I sent her to the back of the line. (Everyone erupts in laughter.) Hey, how about another round of strawberry for me and my friends! Kramer: Oh you're just as pretty as those other women. You just need a nose job. Jerry: I don't think you do. I think you know how to take a reservation. You just don't know how to hold the reservation. And that really is the important part of the whole reservation process. The holding. Anyone can just take them. Elaine: You might want to think about maybe moving your arms a little when you walk. You know, sort of swing them so you're not lurching around like a caveman.
-
Jerry to Newman, while standing in line at Kenny Roger's Chicken... Newman, you wouldn't eat broccoli if it was deep-fried in chocolate sauce. Then Newman responds, "I happen to love broccoli," and then takes a bite, spits it out of his mouth and yells "Vile weed!"

One of my favorite lines comes from the episode where Steinbrenner thinks there is a bomb in George's desk. The bomb squad sends in a robot, mounted with a camera, to examine it. Watching from Steinbrenner's office, the squad has the robot open up the top drawer in George's desk, revealing a Snickers bar and a copy of Playboy. And Steinbrenner utters: "Empty calories and male curiosity, eh Georgie?"

Is Trent alive? Haven't heard any updates.
Indy Dave replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FWIW, this is from ESPN.com (Eric Karabell, fantasy writer): The Bills' Trent Edwards completed his first three passes, but on the third got crunched and left with a concussion. The Bills have a bye ahead, and Edwards shouldn't miss any time. -

I'm honored, Boone. -
The guess here (and mind you, this is just a guess) if there is an announcement about Trent's status for our next game, or for our next practice for that matter, there will probably be a thread about it. That's just a guess though.

Does anyone remember who lost a game 41-17 last season?
Indy Dave replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Point taken, LB. But the fact is, two of those interception returns came late in the game, when the Vikes already had control. And remember, that was a Vikings team playing on the road with no Adrian Peterson, and relying on the magical QB/WR combo of Tarvaris Jackson and Sidney Rice. The point of the original post, I think, was that there are going to be days like yesterday. It happens in this league. It doesn't mean the first four games don't count for anything, or that we suck. Granted, it doesn't mean we are going to win the Super Bowl either, so your point is taken as well. -
Agree with all of that, Rich. The injuries to Trent, McGee and Ko were certainly felt yesterday. But I also thought the injury to Crowell really hurt us for the first time yesterday. Bottom line is, we got outplayed and outcoached. We weren't going 16-0...I'm fine with 4-1. It's the injury bug that has me worried. We have to get a better player than Ellison to go with Poz and Mitchell...not that they were great yesterday either. But Ellison is a backup/special teams player. And we need to improve on both lines. There are a lot of pieces in place...we just need a few more to make this team more complete. But as for this year, I think we're still OK. I like our schedule. I like our team, assuming we can get healthy and stay healthy. If that happens, we're fine. We'll be right there 'til the end for a playoff spot.

Just watched it. And it hurts... it still hurts.

Great program. Lousy ending, but a great program. I changed my signature right after I watched it last night. -
I'm fortunate to know Dwight. He is a great guy. Because I moved from Arkansas, it's been several years since I've seen him, unfortunately. But one of my greatest thrills was when he invited me to join some of our coaches at the school I worked for (which is my alma mater, and Dwight's as well) to come to training camp in '97. We stayed in the same dorm as the players, ate in the cafeteria with them, got to attend team meetings and had full access to just about anything.

Count me as one of the happy ones. Great, great news. Aside from him being our best receiver, my impression is that he is a good, unselfish teammate. His reactions when other receivers catch touchdown passes (i.e. Roscoe's score in the fourth quarter against Oakland) are genuinely enthusiastic. Kind of refreshing for a #1 receiver.

If THIS team wins it all, where does it rank?
Indy Dave replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't disagree with anything you said, but would like to point out that if anyone said back in the middle of May (a quarter of the way through the season, just where we are now with the Bills) that the Rays would basically go wire-to-wire and win the best division in baseball, and go on to win the World Series, people would have tried to have that person committed. Like I said, in a realistic sense, you're points on dead on. But isn't the you-never-know aspect of sports what makes it all great? -
Couple of pics of Aaron Schoebel in this gallery. I think one would qualify as illegal hands to the face, the other as holding.

AMEN to that.

Why are we underdogs against the cards??
Indy Dave replied to kbuckley9091's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Arizona has a solid D? Is your definition of solid "not being within six yards of a receiver, allowing a quarterback to throw six easy touchdown passes?" I'm not much into predictions...I don't know if the Cardinals are going to score 3 or 33, or if we're going to score 0 or 50. But I would not call their D solid either way. -
Just reported he was busted outside of Denver in a cocaine-related arrest.
