  1. Two QB's drafted the same year. One has 29 TD's, 15 INT's in 18 games and a QB rating of 84 but unfortunately it's simply not happening for him. The other one has 16 TD's, 12 INT's in 14 games, a QB rating of 79, way fewer yards, a way lower QBR, wasn't even that good in college and we're still optimistic. Only in Bills land. Oh it hath begun.
  2. No, of course not. The play clock starts running shortly after the TD.
  3. We're on the same page. Yeah it's utterly ridiculous. It sounds like a children's song from the 1950's.
  4. Yeah if you like it, that's fine. I never said it should be illegal, I just think it's kinda dorky that's all. My way bigger issue is when you're waiting in line to get in the game or out in Miami the night before a Bills game down there or wherever and really drunk young Bills fans go "ey-ey-ey-ey." It makes me cringe every time. Agreed 100%. I am now going with in the game and at funerals are the only acceptable times and places for the Shout song. Hey when I first moved to Denver from Buffalo in 2002 and discovered the Bills bar here and they played the Shout song, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I guess over the years, I've kinda soured on it and it's become played out for me, that's all. And also it looks like a lot of people on here aren't even aware that it's played after the extra point, not the touchdown. Which is the way it should be. There wouldn't even be time for the whole song to play before they kicked the extra point after scoring.
  5. There is nothing worse than being at the Bills backers bar in Denver and the Bills are losing to like the Jets and they get a field goal in the second half to get within ten and they play it and then all the dorky Bills fans sing along. It's more of like a "hey we're all from Buffalo" thing than a Bills thing. And I have to put my hand over my head so no one can see me cringing. But when I go to the Colts game in September, you're damn right I'm singing along if they score a big touchdown.
  6. The answer is: The Shout Song is only cool if you are in the stadium after they score. The Shout Song is NOT cool if in the parking lot or outside a bar in Buffalo or anywhere else in the United States, a drunk guy in his early 20's goes "ey-ey-ey-ey" and then someone else within earshot gives him the "ey-ey-ey-ey" back. Nor is it that cool at Bills backers bars in other cities after they score. Nor is it cool when people come out to it at their wedding. It is literally lame in every other instance imaginable EXCEPT for when you are actually in the stadium and they score. Then it's cool.
  7. One thing that sucks about college football is that often times, one team simply cannot stop another team. So like the whole stadium might know the one team is gonna run the ball up the gut and they get 7 yards a pop regardless. And then sometimes both teams are able to do that to each other in the same game and then you get those silly 56-49 games that you see so often. There is nothing better than a well played 20-17 football game and there are way more of those in the NFL. Totally random but I remember a Titans-Ravens playoff game in Tennessee the year Kerry Collins was their qb and they had the 1 seed and Baltimore won, I wanna say, 17-14? Every inch was contested the whole game. It was muddy, bloody and a 3 yard run was a successful play all day. Anyway I remember watching that game and thinking, THIS is why I love football. College is generally too finesse for me and yards/gaudy numbers too easy to come by.
  8. Of course, that's one of the most definitive plays of his career. Was at the game too. Bills got out to huge lead in first quarter and then it actually ended up being a close game.
  9. Steve Largent by far. He's probably my favorite player ever, Bills included. I was all about Favre too. The retiring/unretiring thing didn't even bother me so much but after he sent dick pics, I lost most of my respect for him. I definitely got way behind him in 2009 when he had that incredible season with Minnesota.
  10. Has one human being on planet earth called Sammy Watkins a bust ever? The guy looked like a complete beast when he was in there last year. My interpretation of a bust is a player who can't hack it, not someone who falls victim to unfortunate injuries. Give the guy a minute, would ya?
  11. We still don't know anything about Aaron Maybin. I mean, he only started one game for us. Plus he was misused by Dick Jauron, who made him play subdued and wouldn't let him go full "Mayhem Maybin." More importantly, Jauron isn't even coaching in the NFL anymore. Also, Lawrence Taylor had a bad game once too. Trust me, the kid's got upside, we just need to give him a few more years. I mean after all, he was a first round pick.
  12. I just saw where this was going as soon as I opened the link.
  13. No I think that throwing bad footballs in 7-on-7 drills with no pads has nothing to do with anything in the world other than the fact that he simply might not be a very good QB. But again, that's just my very humble opinion.
  14. Well if he's a solid QB, wins and gets us to the playoffs then that is pretty much the definition of a franchise QB. If he does that, he WILL be our starter opening day 2017. You do not have to be Andrew Luck to be a franchise QB. Ryan Tannehill is on track to be a franchise QB if he isn't already. Yes agreed. The fact that he wasn't very good in college to begin with should very much factor into peoples' outlook on the guy. That along with his 2014 offseason/preseason are too often overlooked around these parts and instead you get the "So he throws one bad pass that JJ Watt intercepts and now you want to give up on the guy?" crowd. Couple questions and please let's keep it civil: So you wanted to let Manuel play another game after the San Diego and Houston games, right? What if he played every bit as poorly against Detroit as he did in the previous two games and they lost that one too. Then would you have considered playing Orton the following week against New England or were you dead set on riding him out all season, chance at the playoffs be damned? And what about after Orton was 3-1, had the team at 5-3 and was looking pretty damn good? Still would've went back to Manuel then?
  15. OK cool, we got 3. Anyone else think that it's MORE than likely that EJ develops into a franchise QB? Just want to know who gets to say "I told you so" if he does.
  16. My God in heaven. Dude for the millionth time, I never said EJ is bust. I don't think EJ is a bust. Does anyone actually read what I write? Not that I think that what I write is that important but we are in a forum here and people keep telling me what I think when they could very easily take the time to read what I think. It's all there for ya folks. For the record, all I have maintained over and over and over again is that I think it's less than likely that Manuel develops into a reliable franchise QB, we re-sign him and he is our clear cut starter opening day 2017. In fact, only two people have said that they disagree with me on this and that they think he will be- LB get ball and Bills fan 4 life. So basically, until I hear otherwise, everyone agrees with me. Do you think he will be? And that article is extremely short-sighted. "EJ was 2-2..." Yeah he was. But I don't recall anyone on here having an issue with him being benched after the Houston game! I don't think anyone including myself thought or thinks that was the end of his career but Bills fans (myself included) kinda wanted to win football games last year, as they always do. They were not winning in Detroit with EJ Manuel, everyone knew it, Kyle Orton played pretty well, they won, everyone was happy. It was the right move then, it was the right move now. Did anyone want them to re-insert Manuel after the Detroit game!?! And I have even gone on record saying that I was advocating to put Manuel back in later in the season after Orton began to suck too. Please, PLEASE do not put words in my mouth.
  17. So you got one guy (Gugny) saying that the Bills run game was "dominant" in the Houston game and another one here saying it was "s**t." At one point can we all just agree that EJ Manuel played startlingly bad against the Houston Texans last fall. Forget about everything else for a second, take a deep breath and just admit it. But Marro- stop. Just come to terms with it. Does the Houston game alone prove that he is inept. NO! But let's stop trying to defend the poor guy's performance in the Houston game.
  18. Really dude. You're questioning me on a stat that you could easily look up in five seconds. I'm not even going to take the time to link the box score from that game because I've already done it in this very thread. Look, I harp on the Houston game and people say "oh well he played bad against Houston? Well so did Joe Flacco one time." And then I say, well no, he played just as bad against San Diego and his entire 2014 offseason and preseason were more concerning to me than those two games combined. And then I get, "we get it, you hate EJ Manuel..." Why can't I just f***ing say, "look, I'm rooting for the guy but if you put a gun to my head and said, 'do you think EJ Manuel will develop into a reliable starting QB for the Bills and they will roll him out as their starter in two years no problem?' my guess would be that that is less than likely to happen." But then OC in Buffalo chimes in and says that you are not allowed to even opine at this stage as to whether or not he could become good. And then Bills fan 4 life will accuse me of saying something I didn't say and then I will lay out a perfectly articulate rebuttal to his post that makes him look ridiculous and then he won't respond and around and around we go... Guys I do not have an outlandish opinion on this subject. We get it that EJ Manuel is your first and only son but my God, when more than one of you have sunken to denying the validity of the box score from the Houston game, that might be time to say, "hey guys can we all just agree to see what happens here?" You're not going to prove to me that EJ Manuel is going to be good because Doug Marrone or 14 games or Kyle Orton sucked too or (gasp) you don't believe the box score from the Houston game, nor am I going to convince you that most sane human beings have seen enough to believe that it is less than likely (not impossible!) that he develops into a franchise QB. I can't freaking wait for September. Go Bills!
  19. Dude come on man. Our running game wasn't that good, our defense played well and Fitzpatrick wasn't that good. Our o-line did suck, I'll give you that. And there were a few passes that should've been caught. But I don't only remember the Watt play. I also remember that Woods was targeted 12 times and had 3 catches for 17 yards. I'm trying to let this die but EJ Manuel was freaking miserable throughout that entire game. The Williams TD was a hell of a play by EJ but you take that out of the equation and you're looking at 43 attempts and 145 yards. Here's to hoping he improves, wins the job outright and becomes our guy. I'm officially pulling for him to win the job. But let's not try and sugarcoat the Houston game.
  20. Look, gun to my head, I'm still taking the Pats to win the division but they lost a TON in their secondary.
  21. I wish they played that commercial. It's like 4-5 national commercials over and over and over.
  22. Dude thanks! That helps me out a ton. I will do that from now on.
  23. I listen to Kevin Sylvester and Andrew Peters most mornings when I'm getting ready in the morning (I'm on MT) and then I'll listen to Schopp and the Bulldog once or twice a week in the afternoon. I even leave on Rome sometimes over the lunch hour as I don't have a radio in my house. Oh yeah, and I listen to John Murphy from time to time as well. Please don't turn this into a thread about how much you hate Schopp and the Bulldog, this was not my intention. It's an excellent sports radio station top to bottom. Especially considering it's only a two sports town and it's like the 60th biggest market in the US. And more importantly, I'm a Buffalo ex-pat and it's a great way to keep up to speed on Buffalo sports. And the Geico guy who puts hashtags at the end of the stuff he says, I also want to kill him.
