Don't look now, but the Rams are 3-1
metzelaars_lives replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They by no means have a "nice offense." They do have a nasty defense. Should be low scoring. Would be shocked if this game doesn't have the lowest over/under of the week. Also it can't be a "trap game" for you when you're the underdog. Will be a tough game. Would be a huge win. -
Whaley will figure out a way to screw it up, as per usual.

Bills shutout Brady and the Pats in Foxboro
metzelaars_lives replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In fairness, if Ragland had played the way Zack Brown has thus far he'd be the lead candidate for rookie of the year. So not sure we're really "missing" much there. -
According to ESPN, Clay ruled out Sunday as well.

I just saw Clay out on ESPN scroller too. -
Whaley has been a complete failure as a GM
metzelaars_lives replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Handing out the wrong contracts to the wrong people? This is like the opposite of reality. Pray tell, who are guys we shouldn't have re-signed that we did and who are guys we should've kept that we let go? I'll hang up and listen. Thad Lewis played admirably for a backup that year. I wanna know who was out there that he should have gotten instead. People act like securing a franchise QB is a talent that certain gm's have and certain gm's don't. Yes, what a brilliant stroke of genius it was when the Patriots took Brady. And what terrible scouting it was when the Raiders took Jamarcus Russell. Even though every other team in the league would've also taken Russell there. IT'S A FREAKING CRAPSHOOT. Should they have rolled the dice by drafting more qb's prior to Whaley? Yes. But he has done his best to try and find one. -

Bills Awarded WR Justin Hunter from Waivers

Sammy Watkins... You are NOT the franchise receiver we'd hoped you'd be. What's with the 'breh' thing? -
Whaley has been a complete failure as a GM

So wrong. Troup was a projected third rounder by everyone under the sun and Gronk was a projected TOP TEN OVERALL PICK before the year he missed due to back issues. The irony? TROUP ALSO HAD BACK ISSUES. The Bills needed a TE, Gronk was freaking from Buffalo, he had fallen farther than he should have, it was the biggest no-brainer pick of all time. Troup was a "cute" pick any way you dice it. The "he has done nothing to address the OL" narrative eliminates him as a person who should be taken seriously. THE BUFFALO BILLS HAVE A GOOD OFFENSIVE LINE. Nice to know there are other smart people out there. Excellent post. -
Bills WR draft picks in the top 5 rounds since 2006

Renember that preseason when Easley was a complete beast? Whatever happened to that? -
Whaley has been a complete failure as a GM
metzelaars_lives replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed 100%. All you can really do is judge the guy for how much sense the pick made at the time. Mike Williams was the right pick at #4. Ryan Leaf was the right pick at #2. Whitner? Not the right pick. Troup > Gronkowski, TJ Graham > Russell Wilson? Not the right picks. The Bills were taking a QB at 16 there and I had no problem with them liking Manuel vs. who was out there. And I think Manuel sucks now, obviously. But who would the Bills have taken instead? -
Whaley has been a complete failure as a GM
metzelaars_lives replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whaley has been more good than bad. He's re-signed the right guys and let the right guys walk. Byrd, Levitre and Spiller = all good calls. Sheppard for Hughes? I'd say that was pretty good. Sorry but Watkins was a sure thing at the time and I loved it. Can't blame Whaley for a foot injuriy three years later. You know who starts for the Steelers? Moats and Cockrell. Coaching is like kind of important too ya know. See: Jim Schwartz. Whaley has been personally responsible for giving our coaching staff more blue chippers to work with than any GM in a long time. Also doesn't hurt that he can actually spend some money. Also, OP, our offensive line depth is fine. What, do you think other teams have all pro backup guards? Kujo stepped in and played fine in Glenn's absence and soon they'll have Henderson as well. The only thing you're right about in your entire rambling, biased drivel is yes, he did neglect the WR position this offseason and the Bills are paying for it. And dude, what are you talking about? Darby has only had one good season? How many good seasons would he have had so far under a good gm? And McCoy is slowing down fast? I can't even tell if you are trolling or not at this point. -
Carolina Panthers 1st preseason game 2015
metzelaars_lives replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are correct. The front seven was fine that game; they played well enough against the run and got a fair amount of pressure on him. THE difference in that game was that every pass Fitzpatrick threw was absolutely perfect. To be perfectly honest, it was just about as well as I've seen ANY QB play in as long as I can remember. And of course the next week dude throws six INT's. -
Beating the Patriots has been a problem for us for the last 15 years or so. I'm blaming it on Hillary since she's been responsible for fixing all of the world's problems for the last 30 years and has failed at everything, single-handedly rendering us a third world country and a very broken football organization. I think Trump should be able to fix our beating the Patriots problem with relative ease. How? Well he hasn't told us but why would he- he has plans for everything but won't share lest they fall into enemies' hands. Hell, General MacArthur wouldn't tell us either. But we haven't been able to beat the Patriots under Obama so clearly, we have nothing to lose. Bills 23, Pats 17 (missed Carpenter XP- that one is on Hillary). Let's bring it back to the great days when we used to win. Against the Patriots that is.

Jerry Hughes reportedly #2 in NFL in pressures

Bout as well as Byrd, Levitre and Spiller are doing. But yeah, Whaley is the worst. -
Yes, it was the correct call.

Brady vs. Manning after Pats 3-0 start
metzelaars_lives replied to prophrox2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah and Matt Cassel had an even better season on the Chiefs. Some of those Pats Super Bowl winning teams had zero running game and David Givens and Troy Brown as their #'s 1 and 2 WR's. Peyton Manning had Faulk, James, Harrison and Wayne, all of whom may end up in the Hall of Fame. Give it up dude. I know that as Bills fans, we have to hate the Patriots but just try and be objective. Just try. -
Time to reallign divisions
metzelaars_lives replied to Dave in Avon Lake now's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not all about geography. The Ravens-Steelers is currently the best rivalry in football and the Ravens and Browns will always be natural rivals. The divisions are perfect as they are. If I were starting from scratch, I'd draw them up exactly as they currently are. -
Time to reallign divisions
metzelaars_lives replied to Dave in Avon Lake now's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Time to stop starting threads about realigning divisions. The divisions are FINE. The NFL needs to start doing more leaving well enough alone. Someone should start a thread about top ten most reoccurring threads. Number one would definitely be "I'm gonna be in Buffalo next weekend, where should I go?" -
Brady vs. Manning after Pats 3-0 start

Great post. I'm sure he was referring to Montana and the 49ers even though he claims to have been a football fan since 1964 and didn't realize that two qb's were 4-0 in Super Bowls.
