Who will be the top 3 receivers this week?
metzelaars_lives replied to NoName's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know what year you're talking about but Evans and Goodwin did not overlap. Not even close. -
They already drafted the guy who's gonna play alongside Darby when Gilmore walks.

McCoy out for Sunday. -
I better use some Listerine. You know I'm automatically attracted to female Bills fans. I just start kissing them, I don't even wait. And when you're the quarterback of the Bills, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the Zubaz pants.

Agreed. There is certainly a path to 10 wins. But they HAVE to keep winning the games they're supposed to. Like next week for example. -

Ehh. Ya win some, ya lose some. Shut er down. -
The Bills lead the NFL in point differential (+59). I wonder what the odds were after week 2 of the Bills leading the NFL in point differential after week 6. Surely the guy who started the thread saying that the Bills were "by far the worst and least talented team in the NFL" wouldn't have taken that bet.

Take the Bills in survivor pool?
metzelaars_lives replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't go anywhere near Tennessee with McCown coming back for Cleveland. They aren't going 0-16 and they're hungry to get Hue Jackson his first win. That game is a coin flip. -
Passing stats, wins and fishsticks...

My assumption is that you assumed here that only the Bills have scored points on defense. -
Forget about Easley as a special teamer, he'd be our #2 WR RIGHT NOW. And I'm not kidding at all. Everyone forgets how much of a beast he looked like in the preseason like 3-4 years ago.

WR Corps Needs A Boost
metzelaars_lives replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What? Please explain this one. -
Tyrod Taylor is NOT the worst passer in the NFL. As every Taylor cynic acknowledges, at least last year, he had as nice a deep ball as anyone in the league. If he attempted as many passes as, say, Ryan Tannehill, he would put up much better numbers. Not to mention, if he actually had a 6'2" 1st/2nd round beast to throw to like most QB's have at their disposal. He is semi-efficient given what he has to work with and can improve. But he is far from the worst PASSER in the league, that's absurd.

Buffalo Bills - rank 32 in passing yards per game
metzelaars_lives replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our QB play has been below average for an NFL starting QB, no question about it. Our WR corps of Woods/Goodwin/Powell is the worst that any NFL team has trotted out in as long as I can remember. As a Whaley supporter, I think not addressing the WR position this offseason has been his biggest mistake yet. -
2017 Alexander, Woods, Brown>Gilmore
metzelaars_lives replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree that Gilmore is not worth what he will likely command and that Whaley, who has been right on virtually every buy/sell situation he's come across, will let him go (maybe franchise him in 2017?) Also agree that Darby is our best corner right now and it would not be wise to allocate that much money to the same position. I would be fine with Darby and Seymour or whomever. Disagree with paying Robert Woods $6 million/per. What is this based on? He's not making that on the open market, let alone in Buffalo. While he does have some admirable qualities- normally has great hands (except for that horrendous drop yesterday), terrific blocker- have you ever seen a less explosive wide receiver in a Bills uniform? At least one who is expected to be a #1 or #2 type guy? While I would say that Taylor has regressed slightly this season, I think there may be quite a bit of chicken/egg involved in terms of his numbers. Meaning, Woods/Goodwin/Powell may very well be the worst 1/2/3 a QB has had to work with in as long as I can remember. Look up Taylor's YPA from 2015 and where ranked in the league when you get a second. -
The place to repent for McCoy Doubters

Yeah yeah yeah, enjoy your day in the sun. The jury is still out on the Jerry Hughes/Kelvin Sheppard trade- let's see how that one plays out before crowning Whaley. -
No Dareus or Sammy? No problem
metzelaars_lives replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No Dareus? No problem. No Watkins? Huge f'ing problem. Losing Salas was actually a bigger problem than people realize. Trotting out Woods, Goodwin and Powell as your 1/2/3 is going to catch up with them very soon. Only hope is that Justin Hunter catches on as your 1 or 2 pronto or they make a trade, which as we know, is very rare midseason. But I can't tell you how much more I'd be buying into this team if they had a healthy Sammy Watkins right now. -
Let's talk about...John Miller
metzelaars_lives replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never really paid much attention to this stuff in years past but evidently everyone said we were much more effective running behind the left side of the line last year and this year I've noticed that we seem to run just as much- and just as effectively- running to the right. Am I wrong? -
Should the Bills move on from Dareus?
metzelaars_lives replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good post but in fairness, that elite talent lost his starting job fair and square to Fred Jackson- off the field stuff totally aside. -

No one is "good" or "bad" at drafting quarterbacks. Are the Colts less good at drafting quarterbacks because Luck has regressed? Are the Falcons better at drafting quarterbacks now that Matt Ryan has upped his game a level? Teams are good at grooming quarterbacks. Case and point, if Dak Prescott was on the Bills, he wouldn't look this good and if Trent Edwards got to sit behind Tom Brady for a few years and play for Belichick, he probably would have looked just fine. And more than anything, when it comes to quarterbacks especially, it's a total freaking crapshoot. And I know it's become cliche but it's so true- drafting Brady was not some stroke of genius, it was plain, dumb luck. If the Patriots knew he was going to be the best qb of all time, they wouldn't have waited til the 6th round to draft him. -

Hey I thought they'd lose each of the last two weeks too so I'm sticking with that approach until further notice. -

Exactly. Levitre, Byrd and Spiller were all good football players at the time they hit FA. When is the last time a GM has let a good football player walk without at least seeing if he can re-sign them at what they consider to be a reasonable price? The point is that he did not think they were worth what they were being offered elsewhere and he gambled and won in all three instances. Even if the Bills lose on Sunday- which I think they will- it won't change any of the aforementioned headlines. Unless Karlos Williams signs somewhere else and runs for 100 yards. -
Trump, Rex and the NFL
metzelaars_lives replied to Billsrhody's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It's kind of easy to just throw the "racist" tag on Trump. I mean, I'm sure he is but I do think it gets thrown around a little loosely and tends to come from people who aren't paying as close attention. As far as being a misogynist however? He may be the biggest misogynist I have ever seen in my entire life. I always thought feminism was kind of contrived and silly until this election. Just imagine if HRC had five kids with three husbands and was palling around at the Playgirl mansion, joking about how she had dated Playgirl models. Like really think about that for a second. -
I just came on here for the first time today and literally five of the threads on the main wall were as follows: 1. Lorenzo Alexander is actually good 2. Zach Brown is like our best player 3. Jairus Byrd benched 4. Nigel Bradham arrested on weapons charge 5. Karlos Williams' suspension is up and no one has yet to claim him But yeah, Whaley is an abomination.
