  1. Andy Reid has a career playoff coaching record of 11-11 in 17 seasons, during pretty much all of which he has had a bonafide franchise quarterback. Rex Ryan has a career 4-2 playoff record in 7 seasons with Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith and now Tyrod Taylor.
  2. And that's where we fundamentally disagree. Main reason? No. Rex Ryan took two Jets teams with garbage on offense and solid defenses to the AFC Championship game, neither of which they had any business being in. Was he a great coach then? Has he lost a step since? Coaches are judged by their team's performance relative to their perceived talent. But there is more to it than that. Luck is a lot of it. One of those 36 wins is a direct result of the worst pass ever thrown in an NFL game by one Jeff Tuel. Correct. And turnover differential cannot be coached. Sorry if you think it can. Marcus Peters is a ball hawk. That has more to do with anything than Andy Reid coaching his running backs to not fumble. All coaches teach you that.
  3. Good post. I said that yes, he is a good coach but I don't think they'd be 19-36 since 2013 if Rex Ryan had been their coach. I don't think he would've turned, say, the Browns into a contender this year- who were better than 2-14 last year. A lot of things have fallen their way. And Alex Smith is better than people think. As evidenced by his performance against the Bills last year. He was excellent. That was not a fluke. That's what he looks like.
  4. And for the record I picked the Chiefs to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl on here before the season and got somewhat lambasted for it. I'd obviously take New England now but I do believe them to be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the AFC and maybe in all of football. And I don't feel this way because they have Andy Reid. They're a really good football team, period.
  5. You guys place way too much importance on the head coach. Andy Reid is a GOOD coach. He's not good enough to magically take a team with average talent and make them 36-19. They have a ton of talent on defense and are a very well-rounded team. It's not like if Andy Reid were coach of the Bills since 2013 that he'd be 36-19 too. There are two coaches in the sport that can turn any team into a contender. Bill Belichick and Jim Harbaugh. That's it.
  6. Of course. But to suggest that one team is genius for taking a guy in the fourth round and another team is stupid for taking a guy in the first round that doesn't pan out is where I take issue. I think we're on the same page. I spent most of the summer of 2015 trying to insist to a handful of whackos on here (who evidently still exist) that the EJ Manuel ship had sailed. Yet I liked the pick at the time. Big kid, tons of natural ability. Never held it against the Bills. Because, again, I understand that it's a crapshoot.
  7. The Dallas Cowboys passed on Dak Prescott three times. It's a f***ing crapshoot. Always has been, always will be. Yet Biff from Tonawanda will always insist that there's a magic formula to knowing who's gonna be a good pro. There isn't.
  8. Good call on Derrick Thomas. Like I said, "Derek" is definitely the conventional spelling for white guys. And Derek Carr is very much a white guy. Like more white than most white guys.
  9. I hate to be that guy, but Derrick Carr? 1. I've never heard of a guy named Derek going with that spelling in my entire life- why assume such a radical outlier of a spelling? 2. And why not like a quick google search? You obviously put some thought into your post, why not just double check to make sure he doesn't, in fact, spell his name like every other white guy ever named Derek? And the irony is that you spelled every other QB's name right.
  10. See also: Broncos, Chiefs, Vikings, Texans.
  11. Let me put it this way: Tyrod Taylor has had a disappointing 2016 season. Tyrod Taylor is still a better QB than EJ Manuel. These two statements are not mutually exclusive.
  12. You guys are crazy. This is dumb. I still think Gugny is delighting in a master trolling campaign.
  13. I can't find his original post to respond to but clearly neither of you have watched the Jaws sequels. Jaws 2 is a very decent film. Obviously not in the conversation with the original, which is, obviously, a top 5 film ever made. But not a bad film at all. Still filmed on MV, you still have Chief Brody, the Mayor, and Hendricks. Jaws 3 is maybe the worst film ever made. Jaws 4 is also deplorable but not quite as bad as 3. But there is no debate whatsoever- Jaws 2 is far and away the best of the Jaws sequels. Just as there is no debate that Taylor is a way better QB than Manuel.
  14. Taylor is 12-10 as a starter; Manuel 6-10. Taylor is decidedly better than Manuel with respect to every conceivable passing statistic there is used to measure a QB's performance. Taylor is also the most elusive and dynamic running QB in the NFL. Taylor's receiving corps yesterday consisted of a hobbled Robert Woods, Walt Powell, Brandon Tate and Justin Hunter. He was good enough in his first season as a starter that he has earned and deserves a look with a real receiving corps next season (Watkins + 1st round pick + Alshon Jeffrey). If he still struggles with real weapons, it would be time to move on. But not to EJ Manuel, who is a career backup and will be on another team anyway.
  15. But he's not though, that's the thing.
  16. I was told that when Gugny tried saying that Manuel was still a better QB than Taylor prior to this season that he was just trolling and looking for a response. Is this still the case or is he serious?
  17. Indy? He had a great college comeback with Maryland. But if you're referring to the 97 game against Indy, which is, in fact, one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history, that was Todd Collins.
  18. Taylor is 12-9 as a starter. Manuel is 6-10. Taylor has been better with respect to every conceivable statistic there is to measure a QB's performance. I'm sorry if he wins too comfortably for your liking. And aside from the Panthers game, which was aided by a very fortunate PI call, I cannot recall EJ leading any valiant 4th quarter comebacks.
  19. Done what?
  20. Is it? Walter Powell, Justin Hunter and Ed Eagan? Find me a worse one. I'll hang up and listen.
  21. The 2016 Bills don't have a wide receiver problem? They just signed Ed Eagan. They might literally have the worst wide receiving corps of any team in the NFL in the last 25 years.
  22. For the millionth time, Gisele Bundchen IS NOT HOT. She is kind of pretty and like 6 feet tall and super skinny. I have seen way better looking girls today and I am in South Dakota right now. She is the classic case of the emperor with no clothes if there ever was one.
  23. While I agree with you and have said repeatedly that it's been Whaley's biggest mistake as GM thus far, in fairness, they were down their 1, 2 and 3 receiver yesterday- and again, this is a group that was thin to start the year as it was.
