  1. Exactly. Been a fan for 31 years and only within the last couple have I been able to discipline myself to not care quite as much. Like I'm over it already.
  2. Yeah and the irony is that the EXACT same people who are the most negative about Taylor are the EXACT same people who, after a pathetic Manuel performance (last year vs. Cincinnati is the best example), would sarcastically say stuff like "yeah that was awesome when EJ Manuel missed that tackle on AJ Green," etc. I will say the same thing now that I did then about Manuel: I can evaluate both units separately. Just because the defense sucked vs. Cincinnati doesn't mean Manuel didn't also suck. Just because the defense utterly collapsed in the third quarter yesterday doesn't mean that Taylor didn't also collapse. I will point out though, that in the Bills' last four losses, they have scored 25, 25, 25 and 24 points. And that includes exactly one garbage time score (against New England). As bad as Taylor LOOKS, he continues to be somewhat effective in the whole scoring points category. And again, I'm the one saying that picking up the option is now very much in question and would not be averse to moving on from him at this point. He's actually above .500 (14-12) but OK.
  3. I don't have the time or the inclination to read this whole thread but I can tell you this. There is no "Church of Tyrod." There are 95% of the people on here who know exactly what Tyrod is and would agree with all of the following: -he had an excellent first year as a starter -he has regressed this year -he holds onto the ball way too long -he has the most depleted WR corps I've ever seen -he is a below average starting QB at this point -he is more effective as an overall QB than he is simply from a passing standpoint -he is still a top 32 QB in this league -whether or not to pick up his option is now very much in question Then there are 5% of the people on here who think Taylor completely sucks, is worse than EJ Manuel, etc. I come on here often and literally don't know one poster who has any illusions about Taylor being better than he is. But according to those 5%, if you think Taylor doesn't completely suck/isn't the worst QB in the entire league/isn't worse than EJ Manuel, then evidently, you are in the "Church of Tyrod" or a "fanboy." It's really dumb.
  4. Easier schedule? Come on dude, that's really grasping at straws. He only has 14 starts because there was an open QB competition prior to the 2015 season, which Tyrod Taylor won, hands down, slam dunk, no doubt in anyone's mind whatsoever. And then this offseason, according to everyone in the universe, Taylor looked the part and EJ looked like EJ. Not to mention, EJ completely imploded prior to the 2014 season in training camp and the preseason- so much so that they had to sign Kyle Orton at the 11th hour cause they knew they couldn't trust going into the season with Manuel at the helm. Not to mention also, his last two starts he's ever had (not as a result of injury) were two performances worse than Tyrod Taylor had ever had in 25 games. I could literally write a book. This isn't a complicated subject at all.
  5. But you invoked Aaron Rodgers and Rodgers didn't hit his ceiling until his fourth year as a starter. And I agree that despite the lack of talent at WR he needs to get rid of the ball quicker and he has in fact missed a lot of open receivers this year. I think you and I are pretty close to on the same page here. As opposed to... Dude you are losin it.
  6. Ha you just compared Tyrod Taylor to a top ten all time NFL QB to try and make a point? Really?? And since you brought it up, Rodgers sat for three years, Taylor had a better season than Rodgers statistically in their respective first years as starters (and a better W-L too) and then Rodgers didn't peak until his fourth year as a starter (seventh in the league). Come on dude. I agree that he has regressed this year but I disagree with Ryan and Gugny's notion that what we see right now is necessarily as good as he'll ever be. Again, Rodgers peaked in his fourth season as a starter. Is it fair to give him a few weapons next year before passing judgment? No one could possibly argue that the Bills don't have the most depleted receiving corps in the entire NFL.
  7. Yes. It is a crusade to keep intimating that any football people in the United States outside of you, Ryan and Gugny would expect a second year starter to be as far as along in their development as an actual sixth year starter because they held a clipboard for four years. It's a preposterous notion that is insulting to everyone else's intelligence.
  8. He has definitely not improved since last year. He had an excellent season for a first year starter by any standard (except for Ryan and Gugny's) but I don't think there's any question he has not made progress this year and if anything has regressed.
  9. No Donald Trump just makes stuff up. It's ok to say you are right about something when you actually are. I wasn't going out on a limb when I said it more than likely was not happening for EJ Manuel. I'm not going out on a limb by saying Taylor, for all his shortcomings, is a top 32 QB in the league and thus a deserved starter.
  10. Well first of all, that's a false equivalency because Taylor is light years better than Manuel. And I don't even think Taylor is that good. And I'm always arguing with the same five guys. My take prior to the 2015 season was, hey guys, I don't think the EJ Manuel thing is happening. I was right. 99% of the people on here agreed with me. The Bills entire organization agreed with me. 100% of non-Bills fans agreed with me. And of course, the same five guys who mock Taylor now were insisting prior to the 2015 season (when I spent admittedly way too much time on here saying that it was over for EJ Manuel- which again, it was, I was right) that the Bills hadn't given Manuel a fair shot, he was still gonna be good, etc., etc. Ya know it's OK to say Ryan Leaf sucks. Or they should've taken Gronkowski over Troup. I was never saying anything radical- then or now.
  11. Bills fans have a tendency to do this too much. We see Tannehill play a couple bad games against us and it's a blanket "Tannehill sucks." You know, guys play other games. The fact of the matter is that Hoyer was very good last season (save for his miserable performance in that playoff game) and was even better this season. He's a no doubt top 32 QB in the world and will start somewhere next season. And no, I don't want him either.
  12. Yeah and the Steelers (you know, the football team) had nothing that day. Taylor hung 30 on a Texans team that had given up 2 TD's the previous 3 weeks last year and you would mock him by saying he "beat Hoyer." Who's actually not even bad. Once you realize football isn't a game of one-on-one hoop you'll have a better understand of the game.
  13. Look, I would take Wentz over Taylor right now if I'm starting a franchise but it's not a monster windmill 360 jam. Here's the deal: Wentz beat the BROWNS AND THE BEARS and everybody started jizzing their pants over him. Yet you are the lord of "well who did he beat?" The contradictions and hypocrisy in the s**t you talk every day is beyond glaring. You are very easy to make look foolish but then you just come back with more vitriol. Again, very much akin to one Donald J. Trump.
  14. Don't you get it? There are like five posters who lump Taylor in with those QB's since Bledsoe and, not coincidentally, all of them believe "Manuel got screwed" and is still a better QB than Taylor as we sit here in December of 2016. They'll never get over it. They harp on the poor performances and disappear after the good ones. They cite the YPG put never acknowledge the rushing prowess or the lack of turnovers or the WINNING or when they do, they mock the starting QB he won against. They are a rare breed who spend countless hours every day bashing the starting QB of a team they supposedly root for on a message board for said team. I don't get it.
  15. Dude I have no illusions as to what Tyrod Taylor is. As a first year starter last season, he was a middle of the road NFL starting QB. Which ain't too f***** bad. This season he has regressed slightly and is a below average- yet still top 32 and worthy of being a starting- NFL QB. I never said he hasn't had poor games or frustrated me this season. You clamored for EJ Manuel when it had become apparent he wasn't a top 50 NFL QB. You are very difficult to take seriously when it comes to your takes on Bills QB's.
  16. It just occurred to me who you remind me exactly of: Donald Trump. The way you talk about Taylor is the same exact way Trump talked (still talks) about anyone who disagrees with him. It's very unbecoming. And he isn't the "29th ranked QB." By that measure, Blake Bortles was one of the highest "ranked" QB's last year. Everyone knows that if Taylor threw for a ton of yards but had a poor passer rating and YPA (admittedly those numbers are down this year but they were elite last year and you failed to acknowledge them over and over and over and over and over) you would cite those numbers and ignore his passing yards. You aren't that hard to figure out.
  17. You may have said it but you are wrong. In no universe is Kirk Cousins "overrated."
  18. Amazing. I'm quite confident I would've never thought of nor heard that guy's name ever again if not for your post. That was definitely during the Leon Joe era as well.
  19. They need to add a function where you can 'like' posts. I would've liked this one.
  20. Tyrod Taylor sucks.
  21. Exactly. This is exactly the point I was trying to make. I didn't even mean that people necessarily skew numbers negatively per se- often times they do it in the other direction too. All I was saying is that for Christ's sake, the Bills have the 10th ranked defense in the NFL. I don't think they're going to make the playoffs, I'm not sold on Tryod Taylor, etc.- I'm just saying they have the 10th ranked defense and that's it. Dude what are you talking about? I never said the Bills are going to make the playoffs, I never even said they have the 10th "best" defense. I just said that their being ranked 10th is legitimate. When I see a post breaking down the 9th and 11th ranked defenses' schedules and different games to de-legitimize their ranking, wake me up. Some of your guys' reading comprehension is very poor.
  22. Dude I agree with you. What does that have to do with my post? How come you never hear anyone ever say, "well yeah this guy on another team has X number of yards but really..." It's always that the Bills statistics aren't legitimate because of their schedule or this or that. GOOD OR BAD. This is not a Bills apologist post.
  23. You're missing the point. For one, yards allowed is not a BS metric. It's not the end-all-be-all but it's not like random teams are ranked way higher or lower than you'd think they'd be. As a general rule, the best defenses are at the top and vice versa. The point is that people always assert that the Bills are the only team with special circumstances and no other team plays against the Browns or beats a team with an injured QB or gets a bunch of sacks at once or gives a bunch of yards in one game or gets a big chunk of yards in one play, etc., etc.
  24. What are you talking about? If the Bills defense was ranked 27th and someone tried saying they're really better than that I would've said the exact same thing. People try and twist numbers in a positive direction too. This is an accuracy thing.
  25. One has nothing to do with the other. The Bills' playoff drought has nothing to do with how legitimate their 10th overall defensive ranking is in 2016.
