So if Bills win Steelers game?
metzelaars_lives replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha if the Jets somehow beat the Tannehill-less Dolphins on Saturday, the Bills could still make the playoffs at 9-7. Fairly easily. There I said it. -

What's funny. The chances of the Bills making the playoffs had they won today only increased today after the Broncos lost and Tannehill went down. Anyone who said, as I did, that if the Bills won out they'd most likely make the playoffs was right. -
I don't know what to tell ya. Taylor had better numbers and a better record. It's all right there for you to look up. He was a more efficient quarterback and had a better 2015. Please don't confuse this with me saying I wouldn't have preferred Winston as my quarterback going into 2016, of course I would have.
-
You're simply wrong. If he was considered a rookie last year, he literally would have won rookie of the year. There were deficiencies in his game but in no uninverse was that not a good season for a first time starting quarterback.
-
I think I've been realistic the whole time. He had an excellent first year. There was no reason to think he couldn't improve upon it. He has regressed. He has lost all confidence. It's over for Tyrod Taylor in Buffalo. I don't want to turn this into a contentious thread because I think everyone is now in the same camp. BUT many of those who were more vocally anti-Taylor than anyone were still pro-I don't know, EJ could still be good... when it was even more painfully obvious it wasn't happening for him either. But here's to everyone finally agreeing on something and let's move on together. Happy holidays everyone.

Tyrod Taylor sucks. The book is closed on yet another Bills QB. At least the decision to not pick up his option becomes an easy one.

CBS: Rex could be fired, TT benched Monday with loss
metzelaars_lives replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If anyone thinks the Bills are a joke right now that absolutely pales in comparison to how much of a joke they'd be if they fired a coach less than two years into a five year contract whose production is pretty much on par with the talent he's been given to work with. -

The lack of comprehension on these threads is beyond me. And if the Bills do beat the Steelers, which again, very few think they will, if you're betting against them in the Browns game because they lost to the Browns in December of 2007, I'd love to be your bookie. -

If the Bills go 10-6 they will PROBABLY make the playoffs. It was true a few weeks ago and now that things have come into focus more, it's even truer now. This isn't really up for debate. I feel like I'm arguing with someone on Twitter trying to tell me that pizzagate is still real. -

Let me try asking it this way- do you understand that these two concepts: a) I also think the Bills will lose on Sunday and finish 8-8 b) But if they somehow beat the Steelers, the idea of making the playoffs is not that far-fetched at all are not mutually exclusive? -

This is simply not true. For one, "our division" has nothing to do with anything. People, if we win out and the favorites win every other football game in the league, we make the playoffs. We basically would just need Denver to go 2-2 (look at their schedule) and Miami to lose one of their three games not against us. The Baltimore/Pittsburgh situation would likely play itself out. That's it, there's no more to it. -

Uggghh. Isn't there already a thread on this somewhere. People, if the Bills beat the Steelers, they will be right in the thick of it, especially with Cleveland coming up. Anyone who says "10-6 isn't gonna do it" clearly has not spent any time looking at other teams' schedules and tiebreakers. Believe me when I tell you, 10-6 would likely do it. -
Why do you change your font mid-post on all of your posts?

Tom Melton on Tyrod Taylor. Perfect analysis.

In all sincerity, have you ever seen a more elusive QB ever, with the exception of Michael Vick? -

This is uncanny. Although if he doesn't have elite mobility, I don't know who does. -
If Tyrod and EJ both hit FA market
metzelaars_lives replied to TSOL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't even think EJ Manuel thinks of himself as highly as some posters on this board. I think everyone else in the United States, including EJ Manuel and his agent, realizes that he has a nice career ahead of him as an NFL backup QB. Very much like a Todd Collins. No serious team will be looking at him as a potential starter. Tyrod Taylor, who has undoubtedly regressed this year and I would not be upset if the Bills cut ties with, WILL unquestionably be looked at as a potential starter if he hits the open market and could absolutely win a Super Bowl as a game manager on a team like Denver. That's reality folks. That's just the way it is. -

The Browns are not even an automatic win. But to say our schedule isn't easy kind of begs the question, if the Browns, Jets and Dolphins at home isn't easy, then what is? I suppose if the Dolphins game was against the 49ers instead, that would be the easiest the schedule could possibly be. Either way, I would venture to guess they have about as easy a last three games as any team in football. Again, Denver's (the primary team we'd be chasing if we win on Sunday) last three games are against New England, Kansas City and Oakland. -

"Isn't that easy?" How could it possibly be easier? The worst team in football at home, an 8-8 type team at home and then maybe the second worst team in football (with Petty) on the road. See, I love how we're an 8-8 type team and we suck and then teams that actually do suck are actually "not that bad." -

I don't think you're dumb. Hey everybody let's bring it in here. We're all Bills fans, alright? We cool? OK here goes: 1. I think the Bills are going to lose on Sunday. 2. IF, IF they somehow manage to win, their schedule is pretty damn easy the rest of the way. Would not be totally unfathomable that they win out. They already have one four game winning streak this season and they're about as healthy as they've been all season. 3. After doing some research, I can tell you that IF, IF they win out (I DON'T THINK THEY WILL), that they will much more likely than not make the playoffs. 4. A win on Sunday coupled with Cleveland coming up would put all of this into focus and this board would be fun next week. Not that I think it's going to happen. We good? -

But I've said at least five times in this thread that I don't think they're going to make the playoffs. You're the worst because you jumped on me without understanding my point, which is not hard to understand. At least I didn't think it was. Do you disagree that IF they beat Pittsburgh- which, again, I don't think they will- that their path to the playoffs is actually somewhat reasonable? Because it is. And I don't care if you've been a fan since 1872. Wow someone gets it. Sorry for being smart, I apologize. And I invite you to dispute one thing I've said. Not trying to be contentious little brotha. Actually the more I think about it, I think the Bills get smoked on Sunday. -

Geez what happened to my thread here? OK, fan since '85 here. Where do we disagree? Tell me one thing I've said that you don't agree with me on. I'll hang up and listen. -

OK we're not that far off then. Where we fundamentally disagree is that IF the Bills win on Sunday I will be incredibly optimistic and I can assure you that the rest of the board will be too. Mind you, the Broncos four remaining games are against Tennessee, New England, Kansas City and Oakland. And as far as percentages go, it's this simple: they have to win out. If they win out, I can ASSURE you that they would most likely make the playoffs.
