  1. Skooby's disappearance is a lot like when a wrestler used to get injured and then they'd disappear for like 9 months and then out of the blue they would run down and interfere in a match. I'm kind of looking forward to his return and I hope it is a triumphant one.
  2. The offensive line is playing like a bunch of bears through the first two games. The LB's are still a playing like twinks from time to time, however.
  3. Precisely. Declaring anybody anything after even one year is preposterous- let alone two preseason games. I think the most cliched but relevant example is Mario Williams vs. Reggie Bush. Aaron Maybin looked great in the preseason and hasn't done much in two regular season games. Guess what? My opinion of him has not wavered since April- the jury is still out. Now on the other hand, I think you are gonna be pretty safe with the two guards and I think it might be time to start raising some questions with regard to Hardy.
  4. Props to Harami for eating his words, but can't we take this as a perfect lesson that a) you can't evaluate draft picks after 2 preseason games and more importantly, THE PRESEASON DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING. Not worried, I'm sure we'll get the same douchey posts next August.
  5. Hey man I smell ya. I can see how you might think I came off that way and I don't want to sound like a jerk. I just couldn't believe that the attitude went from extreme optimism after the TO signing to utter despair and dread just based on a few preseason games, mind you, against some of the league's best defenses. I guess I always kept the same opinion that this is an 8-8 type of football team the whole time. Meanwhhile Bob DiCesare went so far as to say they might go winless and the general consensus on here was probably around 4-12, 5-11 at very best. Just remember next preseason if they light it up that that also doesn't mean anything. And I won't be disappearing anytime soon so you won't have to worry about that.
  6. Listen, I am not saying they're the late 70's/early 80's San Diego Chargers and I'd still like to see a higher % of Trent's completions go to WR's, I'm just saying from an overall proficiency standpoint, literally 95% of you guys were talking as if the Bills offense was going to be so incredibly inept- I'd just like to hear one person say, wow they've really outperformed my expectations, I was wrong about them. Meanwhile, myself and a few others were insisting all along, hey guys, preseason doesn't really mean all that much, I expect them to run much smoother than they did in the preseason. What can I say, I enjoy saying I told you so. If you would've listened to the talk shows and read on here, you would've thought those were regular season games that they performed poorly in. But I digress. Can't wait for Sunday!
  7. Trent Edwards has now played two really solid football games back-to-back. Can I hear at least one person say, "hey I was wrong, you were right, I kind of forgot that preseason really doesn't mean all that much?" Just one?
  8. a) If they cut him, who goes up the depth chart? Jon Corto? Read my post, I didn't say he was good, I said cutting him would be presposterous and if you disagree with that, then yes, you are not a knowledgable football fan. b) As a MLB, he wouldn't have to cover nearly as much and could focus on tackling which, again, he seems to do an adequate job of. Plus, that gets Nic Harris on the field, which we're all looking forward to seeing.
  9. Agreed with this and agreed with original post. Ellison would be a much better MLB than a strong side OLB. DiGiorgio looked good as a MLB in the Bills scheme, you just need to make tackles, which Ellison certainly did Monday night. People are too hard on him- he's not a starter in this league on a good team but I come on here Tuesday morning and one of the posts read, "Cut Ellison." That was obviously postd by someone who is not a very knowldegable football fan. As far as Posluszny, it might just not be happening. People used to dog London Fletcher? Durability has to factor into your assessment of a football player.
  10. Dude, you're reading into it too much. Am I tired of losing? Of course. That dude on your avatar went through plenty of losing seasons himself. Yet, why would you (I know you said you wouldn't anyway) wear a shirt that basically says, "my team sucks?" Conversely, if the Patriots suck again for ten years straight, I would maybe want to wear a shirt alluding to the extent of their futility- not my own team! Gotta put things in perspective- the Bills have made the playoffs ten of the last 21 seasons going into this season. We are not the Lions, we are not the Clippers, we are not the Cubs, and yes people, Ralph Wilson does care about winning. Can't wait for Sunday, Go Bills!
  11. If my Dad had a drinking problem, I would not accept it and say, "he's my Dad, I love him no matter what, keep drinking Dad." However, I also would not wear a shirt around town that says, "look at my Dad, what a loser."
  12. What the hell is with this "fail" thing I keep seeing? I don't get it, nor do I find it funny. No self-respecting Bills fan would wear that shirt. Do you know who the two worst teams in the league were between about 1987 and about 1994? The Colts and the Patriots. Get over yourselves and back your team.
  13. Wish I was going to the game, but I'm stuck out here in Denver. To those of you going, make sure you guys give McKelvin the biggest pop when he's announced if they announce the defensive starters on Sunday! Actually who am I kidding, you think the PR people will pass up a chance to introduce TO in the home opener? Either way, show him some love for sure.
  14. What does "pwned" mean? And where does this thing "FAIL" come from? This lingo goes way over my head, I must be getting old. It sounds dumb though.
  15. They'll move Ellison to the middle- hey, the guy can't cover but he did have 15 tackles last night, and then they'll start Nic Harris on the outside
  16. Never called a win, but here's what I said. Listen, there's a reason the spread held at 10.5; Vegas was daring you to bet on the Pats. I was off by a few yards, but hopefully the 95% of Bills fans out there that predicted a 35-point blowout will remember next year that the PRESEASON DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING. Go Bills, can't wait for Sunday! Sep 1 2009, 09:20 AM I want to be the first to say I told you so, after the season opener. I am so sick of the g*ddamn negativity on this board, in the media, etc. because of a few pre-season games. Have they looked bad? Of course. But I've been watching football long enough to know that the pre-season is not always a perfect indicator as to how a team is going to show up and play in Week 1. If they march down the field and score a TD in their first drive, then all of this time you people have spent whining and complaining will have been for naught. I live in Denver- do you have any idea how bad the Broncos are going to suck this year? Everyone says on here, "we'll lucky to win five games this year." Then how many are the Broncos going to win? Our talent level is so ridiculously superior to theirs. But I digress. I'm not predicting a victory in Week 1, but I am predicting that the offense will look a lot better than it has in the stupid pre-season and we will put up a hell of a fight on national TV. Now all I wanna know is, who's comin with me... Sep 3 2009, 09:23 AM Post #58 I want to make clear for the record what it is I'm calling, so when we wake up on September 15th, the top thread on the page will read, "I told you so." I am saying that the Bills offense will look exponentially more in sync than it has in the pre-season (at least 21 pts., at least 300-350 yards and not garbage time points and yards) and it will be a competitive football game. That's all. If the Bills look as miserable as 95% of you think they will because the pre-season is, of course, a nearly flawless indicator as to how a team is going to perform in the regular season, then I will concede that the collective you (the royal you) was in fact correct and I was wrong.
  17. Guess What? I told you so. Screw Jerry Sullivan, Screw Bob DiCesare and screw all of you who listen to GR all week and whine about Ralph Wilson not caring about winning and Edwards being incompetent (he played one hell of a football game and if you don't think so, then you don't know anything about football) because they didn't play well in the preseason and because that's what your sweatpants-wearing, artery-clogging-food-eating, parent's-basement-dwelling breathren were saying on the radio for the last two months. Ya know what? Usually it's Bills vs. Pats- Bills Nation vs. Pats Nation and this time around it felt like the Bills vs. the Pats, their fans and 95% of Bills fans. Hats off to the Bills for a valiant effort, hopefully Posluszny isn't out too long and I can't wait for Sunday! Peace I'm outta here.
  18. By keeping the spread so (seemingly) low, Vegas is daring you to bet on the Patriots. Guarantee most oddsmakers think the Bills will cover.
  19. The Pats defenese might suck. Personally, I cannot wait for Monday night. I feel like the Bills are going up against the Pats and their own fans. I can't wait to say I told you so to all you pissants out there.
  20. Phil Simms? Maybe the blandest in the business.
  21. Agreed, he is the best in the business. The chemistry will take a while. I'm sure they'll be fine. Madden is a legend, no question, but he's football 101. Collinsworth is for real football fans. He's one of the very few announcers who can point things out that even the astute viewer, like myself, wouldn't have picked up on otherwise.
  22. Better be careful there partner, what if the Bills lose by 7?
  23. Put your money where your mouth is, stop whining and crying about the Bills' preseason ineptitude, go to sportsbetting.com, it's perfectly legal. They will give you 10% on top of what you open your account with (eg. you put in $250, your account value is immediately $275). It's only Pats -11, which isn't even really a blow out, take the Pats, make lots of money and thank me on Tuesday. They will send you a check in the mail whenever you want to withdraw funds, I've done it plenty of times they are very efficient. But for Christ sake, keep your negativity out of here until the game is played! You're welcome, Metz
  24. Yeah I'll do that because I study game film from all 32 NFL teams and, like most people on here, am qualified to judge the talent level of right tackles across the league. Listen, the quarterback drops back, you watch the ball and then wait to see what the experts say about who is and is not performing on the OL (unless you DVR the game and go back and watch it again). I'm sick and tired of people professing to be experts on line play. All I know is that a) tackle is Brad Butler's natural position and b) the ruinning game vastly improved after he returned from injury last season. Peace I'm outta here.
