  1. I agree that Wood is a question mark, but even if he doesn't come back, you got Levitre, Hangartner, Incognito and Bell/Meredith. Not abysmal as long as, again, you get a stud LT. As far as Bell, I think his penalties overshadowed his play last year. When a guy is flagged multiple times a game and then they pan in on him looking like an idiot, it's easy to say he sucks. But that has nothing to do with how well he actually played. I'll tell you this much- the Bills certainly haven't given up on him yet and he'll be on the roster this season.
  2. One way or another, we need a LT, but other than that, I see two possible scenarios playing out- LT LG- Levitre C- Wood RG- Incognito RT- Meredith/Bell or what I would do... LT LG- Incognito C- Hangartner RG- Wood RT- Levitre Either way, assuming they re-sign Incognito and Wood is ready to go, they only need one tackle and they actually have pretty decent depth. I just saw a post where a guy is talking about drafting a tackle in each of the first two rounds!?! I really believe our OL is not as far away as say, our QB situation or even our WR's at this point.
  3. Difference: Todd McShay, for instance, has him as the 3rd overall player available, but doesn't necessarily have him going 3rd because of team's needs and his off field issues. And to agree with that other guy- in the last 3 or 4 years, there have been two guys- Calvin Johnson and to a lesser extent, Michael Crabtree, who have been can't miss, holy s*** these guys are gonna be sick, type players. Guess what, they're both sick or on the verge of being sick (in Crabtree's case). I would put Bryant right there with Johnson and above Crabtree coming out. Hey, what happened the last time we took a can't miss behemoth tackle in the top ten?
  4. Not many. How come everybody has suddenly abandoned the "best player available" theory? What if the Ravens were like, "yeah this Ray Lewis guy looks pretty good, but linebacker isn't our greatest need?" If Dez Bryant looks like a complete beast, a franchise-changing guy, you gotta take him.
  5. Hey Darth Ice, how ridiculous does drafting Dez Bryant look right now? Dude, everyone's got him 3rd or 4th on their overall draft board, he looks like a combination of Andre Johnson and TO in his prime, he's got Randy Moss written all over him in the sense that he's gonna fall ia little bit due to off-field issues. This past week, Darth, you said that LB was a greater need than WR? Not that there's any future hall-of-famers amongst them, but we now have Poz, Mitchell, Schobel, Maybin, Ellis, Kelsay, Harris and Ellison. Best player available. It's more than likely gonna be Bryant. I'm now officially all about it.
  6. Hey partner, this isn't the 80's where if you sucked, you'd go from 2-14 to 4-12 to 7-8 to 12-4. You can turn around a team in one season as evidenced by the MIAMI DOLPHINS. Hell, they were 1-15 before winning the division, at least we won 6 games last year. I'm not saying I'd bet the farm that they're going to be good next year, but you don't have to go through the elaborate re-building process that you used to. I would bet you that at least 1, probably 2 teams make the playoffs next year that totally sucked this past year.
  7. I like most of what you said, but with respect to drafting a RB in the later rounds who will eventually start? Didn't we draft Wright and Omon both in rounds 4 and 5? Has Omon proven he's not a future starter? Can you bank on getting a future starter there?
  8. I hope I didn't come off like a jerk (I know I did actually), but dude, it's just kind of weird that you're a obviously a very casual football fan yet you have dedicated a good chunk of your life to posting on a football talk board. I know a ridiculous amount about football and you literally have over 40 times more posts than me. For instance, I kind of like the show Frasier. It's OK, I know a little about it; if it's on, I might watch a re-run here and there, but I don't make 20,000 posts on a Frasier website.
  9. A frickin mod thinks that the NFL was incepted in 1965 when they played the first Super Bowl? Giants-Colts? Yankee Stadium? Greatest game ever played? Either you are in high school or know zilch about football which puzzles me being that you have posted over 2,000 times. Don't quit your day job...
  10. yeah Schobel loves playing football so much that he's about leave $6 million on the table to not play a game for a few months.
  11. You sound like a real jerk, first and foremost. Second of all, isn't there a certain amount of luck involved? For instance, I loved the J.P. Losman pick until three years later when it became evident it wasn't going to work. But I remember seeing him in the 2004 preseason and saying, "man this kid is big, tough, has a great attitude, can whiz the football and gets at least ten yards every time he runs." He was projected to go pretty close to where he went. Unless Marv had psychic powers, how was he to know that it wouldn't work out? Now, with respect to the Whitner pick, that was definitely a poor pick from a value standpoint because if they really coveted him that much, they could've traded down and got him in the 20's and probably even the second round. Marv did not have a successful tenure as Bills' GM, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit here and let you be that harsh about the greatest figure in the history of the franchise.
  12. Even swap would be a no-brainer. Losing Whitner doesn't negatively affect us at all, while Campbell would immediately become the best QB on our roster. Not that I think Donte totally sucks, but he's certainly no better or worse than Wilson or Scott at this point.
  13. Not really, Losman was decent in 2006.
  14. That someone is bound to be me. Josh Reed has played with a prolific Bledsoe and a competent Losman (at least in 2006). Last year, TO played with absolute junk and had 7 TD's. Does Reed have 7 TD's in whole career? Maybe? If you people think that Andre Johnson doesn't make Houston better or Randy Moss didn't make the Vikings or the Patriots better, you're crazy! In fact I think that WR is one position where talent supercedes being plugged into the right system. Any competent young top 3 rounds-drafted RB is going to be fine in a good offense with a good OL. Brian Cushing benefited from playing with a good group of LB's. But look at Calvin Johnson! He is sick even if Dan Orlovsky is throwing to him. A freak WR, which Bryant might be, has to be considered. I really question the knowledge of the people on this board sometimes, particularly Darth Ice. You're telling me that, relatively speaking, you're more comfortable with Evans/Johnson/Hardy/Parrish than Poz/Mitchell/Schobel/Maybin? I'm certainly not. Every year, it's the same story- our defense is adequate but then burns out eventually because our offense friggin blows. Wake up people.
  15. Sorry, you're right. Our wide receivers are sick. So to answer my original question, you are saying that yes, you are comfortable going into the season with Evans/Johnson/Hardy/Parrish?
  16. All I know is that the Rockies a few years ago really needed a pitcher so they took Greg Reynolds 7th or 8th overall and the next pick was Evan Longoria. If a guy's a beast, he's a beast. I wouldn't take a CB, S, RB, G or C, but other than that, I'm comfortable taking the best player available.
  17. He might be there, but I haven't heard his name on here once. Would it be crazy to take him at 9 or are people really content with Evans/Johnson/Hardy/Parrish as our wideouts? I know we have other needs but we can assume we'll fill some of them via free agency, trade and maybe the 2nd round. Just throwing it out there. I think he's in the mold of Calvin Johnson and Michael Crabtree.
  18. He is?!? They should?!?
  19. I'd love to take Roosevelt in the 6th.
  20. Dickey, who accompanied the Oakland Raiders to Buffalo when the AFL champions beat a particularly lame edition of the beloved home-town Bills 48-6, added, "Women are still wearing skirts below the knees, and men are wearing wide-lapel jackets. It's like watching a 1948 movie." Wrong.
  21. Why wasn't Roosevelt invited to the combine? I thought he was slated to be like a third round pick or something?
  22. I think it's funny that in 1969, they said that Buffalo was trapped in 1948. When I was there in the 90's, people were stuck in the 80's. In the 2000's, people were still rockin late 90's Backstreet style (frosted tips, fake tans, black leather jackets). I don't live there anymore, but I'd be willing to bet now there's a heavy Jersey Shore influence on Chippewa. Then again, you'll always have the guys from the suburbs rockin an Apex Bills jacket from 1992 with tight stone-washed jeans, white sneakers and a mustache. Man I love that city.
  23. Just gonna say, the Hitler videos have officially jumped the shark
