Being a Black QB; It Must be Tough
metzelaars_lives replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"You know when it comes to racism, people say, 'I don't care if they're black, white, purple, or green.' Uh, hold on now- purple people? You gotta draw the line somewhere. To hell with purple people!" -Mitch Hedberg, the greatest stand up comedian of all-time -
I know people love Roosevelt cause he went to St. Joe's- who Williamsville North has owned in hockey for the better part of two decades- but there's a reason Donald Jones made the team over him. We saw it on Sunday. With Easley coming back next year, there's simply no room for the guy.

Who is the #1 WR in the Bills?
metzelaars_lives replied to The Wang From Sang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you really recommending the Bills take a WR in the first round? -
Dude you can't have it all. I don't care if McGee retires, you go with Florence, McKelvin, Corner and Youboty, you'll be fine. They need friggin hulking African-American linebackers from the SEC who weigh 260 lbs and have fraternity symbols branded onto their biceps. Two of them. I don't care if it's your first two picks. I don't care if they're inside or outside. I am done with castoffs playing linebacker on this team.

Look at hockey. You went from the 1980's where everyone had a nice, simple classic jersey, to this crap: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.atjerseys.com/pic/20109911535942813.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.atjerseys.com/views/%3FAtlanta-Thrashers-17-Ilya-Kovalchuk-Stitched-Blue-Home-Jersey-17049.html&usg=__rgAblMTQguOI1--fInJcmaS7qfw=&h=299&w=400&sz=39&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=KiPm5-kPQVRlnM:&tbnh=143&tbnw=161&prev=/images%3Fq%3Datlanta%2Bthrashers%2Bhome%2Bjersey%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1680%26bih%3D863%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=416&ei=H5zlTI3rD5SanAeq1I2PDQ&oei=H5zlTI3rD5SanAeq1I2PDQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=36&ved=1t:429,r:26,s:0&tx=87&ty=41 Why does this new generation love things that suck? Is anything sacred anymore? Hey lets make the jerseys hang lower in the front and in the back and make the arms skinny! Awesome. You know kids, newer isn't always better. There's something to be said for tradition. Or else there used to be.

I'm talking about all of these jerseys- the whole style. This is what you want in the NFL? http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://blog.seattlepi.com/undraftedfreeagent/library/ducks-new-unis.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.vcuathletics.com/features/Around_the_Horns/ATH_DailyBlog&usg=__1zzeNidqh6kkl5uSLaiPbHa7lZ0=&h=600&w=800&sz=70&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=54A1uKJtE5FixM:&tbnh=131&tbnw=158&prev=/images%3Fq%3Doregon%2Bducks%2B1980%2527s%2Bjerseys%2Bfootball%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1680%26bih%3D863%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=905&vpy=216&dur=1889&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=73&ty=215&ei=sIHlTJeOD8uynAfhq7GCDQ&oei=sIHlTJeOD8uynAfhq7GCDQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=37&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:0

Does anybody care about tradition anymore? These look like the jerseys you would have thought NFL players would be wearing in the future world in Terminator I.

The official the O-Line does not suck anymore thread

Call me old-fashioned, but as far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as offensive line "stats." -

I also work w/ a guy who played for Harbaugh at San Diego and said that although he is definitely a hardass and he in fact hates the man, that he will and I quote, "go down as the greatest coach in the history of pro football."

Could Mike Vick be the NFLs MVP
metzelaars_lives replied to sleaky72's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know dude. You're arguing the wrong point. Of course they are. And one more thing, I am not a Christian man, but I certainly hope those of you who are unwilling to forgive Michael Vick don't profess to be... -

metzelaars_lives replied to sleaky72's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haha! This is a classic example of why Vick simply cannot win with some people no matter what he does. He's won me over. After Braylon Edwards got that DUI, he did some sort of ridiculous dance the next day after scoring in Miami. Vick has handed the ball to the ref all season. Last night when he spiked that ball after scoring another insane TD, you could tell he was letting out a lot of personal frustration. He's on his own out there man. It's him, probably most of his teammates and probably half the city of Philadelphia and that's it. Meanwhile Snoop Doggy Dogg and Ray Lewis get commercials and endorsement deals. Man this country has some sort of weird fascination with dogs, let me tell ya. -

metzelaars_lives replied to sleaky72's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WRONG. I'm specifically talking about the people who said he didn't have football left in him and more so, the people who insisted he was never that good in the first place. Many people on here claimed they'd rather have Edwards as their QB completely from a football standpoint. -

I cannot wait to start a big huge fat Michael Vick I told you so thread in the morning. Do you realize that the general consensus on this board was that they would rather have Trent Edwards as the Bills' QB than Michael Vick before the season started? Yes this is better than he ever was on Atlanta, BUT he was the MVP runner-up w/ Atlanta one year and he NEVER had close to this type of talent around him. People on here were insisting he was never very good. Look up my posts, I've called this all along (perhaps not to this extent). Right now, he is the FRONT-RUNNER for MVP and is easily a top 5 QB in the game. Behind Manning and Brady, right there with Brees and Rivers and definitely ahead or Rodgers, etc. And for any complete and utter clown who tries to invoke the dog thing, screw you, this is America, the dude did two hard years. We're supposed to be all about the rehabilitation process, aren't we? He obviously didn't have the same upbringing as you or me. I got the guy's back 100% Good for Vick, I'm pulling for the guy! -

Twitter is kinda weak, but that's pretty cool to see old players and new players interacting. Stevie did have a pretty deplorable drop on that one over the middle.

Peter King - LA Frontrunners
metzelaars_lives replied to TheLynchTrain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is always encouraging. I don't think the next owner can profit anywhere more than Buffalo, with the exception of LA. If there's already a team there, that would limit the next owner's options to what? Toronto? OKC? San Antonio? I guess. Is it worth building a stadium for a billion or whatever dollars not knowing if that city is a football town that wants to support a team long-term? We almost already know that Toronto is NOT that city. The Bills are Buffalo's to lose and if another team moves to LA first, I think that makes it almost impossible for them to leave. -
Torrell Troupp? (I have no idea if that's the right spelling or not) Either way, they have to go back to a 4-3 next year. Can Dwan Edwards play DE in a 4-3 though? Who the hell is gonna get sacks then? I could see them lining up Kelsay-Troupp-Williams-Edwards next year, keeping Johnson as a good depth guy and all of a sudden, you got a decent 4 man front. Who in the name of Christ almighty is gonna fill the OLB spots though? Maybe Moats is one of them, (they harp on building through the draft, I think they want to use their guys), but they better get a monster to fill the other spot. And they need to re-sign Posluszny immediately. No he's not a stud, but he's good enough if he's your second best linebacker. He would be right up there for the league lead in tackles if he didn't miss a couple games.
-
Kyle Williams may be one of the Top 5 interior lineman in the NFL right now. He was good as a DT and appears to be somehow, despite his size, even better as a NT (although they play in a 4 man front half the time anyway). He was a manimal yesterday.

What has happened to Ed Wang?
metzelaars_lives replied to pimp on da' net's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Troup is now playing on almost every down. I saw him getting good penetration a couple times vs. Chicago. It's hard to guage how well he's playing considering he doesn't really put up the numbers as a gap plugger, but at least he's playing. Yeah Nelson is a legitimate #3 receiver today as an undrafted free agent rookie. Pretty impressive. Pick him up as a bench receiever in your fantasy league, he's gonna get all Roscoe's snaps and I think Fitzpatrick has a rapport with him. -
