  1. Why do people speculate on where the Bills are going to move? The Bills are not going to move while Ralph is alive and after he dies, they're going to go wherever the hell the highest bidder wants to move them to. Thusly, the Bills proximity to Toronto doesn't make them any better a candidate to move there over LA. If the new owner thinks LA is a more viable market than Toronto- which it is- he's gonna move them there. Regardless, the Bills aren't going anywhere so long as LA already has a team by the time that Ralph Wilson dies. No one is going to roll the dice on Toronto or San Antonio or Oklahoma City being a more profitable long-term football market than Buffalo. You could buy the Bills tomorrow and know that you're going to profit X amount of dollars every year anyway.
  2. I agree that you have to just trust them at this point. Call me gullible, but I, for one, do. The only thing I don't like about taking a WR is that we have a lot of young talent at that position I'd love to see develop and if you look around the league, very few of the elite receivers are high first round picks. I think David Nelson can be a very good WR in this league, I do not want to see him buried on the depth chart. Stevie Johnson, despite his drops, has an uncanny ability of getting open and looks to be a terrific route runner. And please spare with me with the "it's because of Lee Evans" garbage. I've never heard a receiver get praised so much for putting up such incredibly modest numbers. And I own his goddamn jersey. If you do draft Green, which I'm fine with, cut Lee Evans if no one will give up a 5th rounder for him. Green-Johnson-Roscoe-Nelson would be a sick WR group for years to come. Bottom line, if you think AJ Green is a freak, you take him. That being said, if Fairley and Bowers go 1-2, which I still don't think they will as so much will change in the next three months, I take Robert Quinn.
  3. Could you imagine where Detroit would be if they didn't have Calvin Johnson? No one is saying drafting an elite WR immediately makes you a playoff team. If you took Jerry Rice circa 1987 and put him on the Bucs they probably would have won 4 games instead of 2. That's not the point. Patrick Willis is insane. The Niners suck. You gotta just try and get as good as you can at each position.
  4. I think I'd rather see Nickelback than watch a Pro Bowl. At least you can laugh at Nickelback. The Pro Bowl is not the least bit amusing.
  5. Honestly, they need to just scrap the game altogether. The more I think about it, it really is a joke.
  6. There was nothing on TV last night, so I flip on the Pro Bowl and I see the Goo Goo Dolls playing to the fake people they put on the field who pretend they like the music and do like a synchronized dance to it. It was probably the cheesiest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. As much as I love the NFL, sometimes they need to just let the game do the talking. The extra-curricular stuff can be over the top fruity. Like I remember last year when The Who played at halftime of the Super Bowl, they got young hot girls and dudes with frosted tips on the field dancing like they've ever heard a Who song in their lives. It really tainted my image of The Who forever- it's become such a sell-out move to play a song on a football field. The Goo Goo Dolls sucked to begin with- obviously. I'm just glad they weren't billed from Buffalo.
  7. Really puts things in perspective, doesn't it?
  8. Thanks for supporting the team. I hate when people say, "I'm done with this team" and stuff like that. I live out of town and I always go to one road game and the home game closest to Christmas, it's the best I can do. So just wanted to say thanks.
  9. It sounded as if you had insinuated that I was a fan of Keith Olbermann. While I agree with his political views, I never really got on board w/ his shtick and did not watch him. I am a religious Bill Maher viewer and have recently been watching Maddow as well. If you agree with me that Glenn Beck is ridiculous then we can call a truce for today and Go Bills!
  10. I will continue to watch Rachel Maddow, who was/is much better anyway. Let's look at Maddow's credentials: Rhodes scholar, doctorate in Philosophy in Politics from Oxford. Now let's look at your boy Glenn Beck's credentials: High School Diploma, extensive drug abuse, 1 suicide attempt, found Jesus. Fairly representative of the intellectual level of the two parties if you ask me.
  11. Dwight, do you remember when you blamed the fact that NBC aired figure skating over the USA-Canada round robin game during the Olympics on Obama? That was amazing. As far as this post, I don't think that this one fan is indicative of Raiders fans as a whole. Sounds more like a Niners fan to be honest.
  12. He's so big that I have to imagine they'll find a gap for him to fill.
  13. Absolutely yes. Wood and Levitre combined make what percentage of Peters' current salary?
  14. Look at the two teams in the Super Bowl. I know that in 2009 they allowed the 1st and 2nd most sacks and averaged the 31st and 32nd most YPC (this was well-documented at the beginning of this season). Not sure where they stand after 2010, but Jonathan Scott starting at LT is an indication the Steelers still don't have one of the best OL's in the game, though I know Pouncey probably helped out quite a bit. The point is that the Bills line is anything but in disarray as some of you believe. Management believes, as do I, they have three REAL GOOD NFL starters in Bell, Wood and Levitre and some solid depth in Hangartner and Urbik et al. Don't forget Nix and Gailey believe very strongly in their '10 draft and Wang will get a crack at the RT spot this year if he's healthy. After Fitzpatrick found his rhythm, they allowed a low number of sacks relative to the league average and their YPC was just fine, though holes were hard to come by and Jackson is good at improvising. The point is that the OL is FAR from our biggest problem. A RT in Round 2 or 3? Maybe, but don't expect much more than that. I think and I really believe they think, they can make it work with what they have. Expect them to go heavy front 7 in the first 3 rounds (2 of the 3 picks). You're welcome, Metz P.S. We can thank Dick Jauron and co. for Wood and Levitre. Not every team has two budding young high draft pick interior linemen that are poised to anchor their line for the next decade.
  15. Yeah, he's not a very good player.
  16. Exactly. Could you imagine someone wearing a Dolphins tie at Niagara Nissan the day after they had beaten the Bills in the playoffs? I know, Bills? Playoffs? It's almost like a fantasy at this point. But still, that would not be cool.
  17. I was wondering the same thing myself. Evidently this is a pretty big organization Bill's got going as there appears to be an entire website devoted to it.
  18. Looks like Jimmy Spags was nabbed today. http://www.buffalonews.com/city/communities/tonawanda/article317909.ece
  19. Fair enough. I used to think that Kathy Ireland was the hottest chick ever and in Necessary Roughness she is amazing, but I just google imaged two old SI covers she was on and I was a little disappointed. You know who was an underrated SI chick was Stacey Williams.
  20. Hey youngsters, you may want to consult with your older brother or a cousin or something before making a bold statement like that... http://www.krakov.net/si/images/1991/0902_large.jpg
  21. In the 2+ years I've been on this site at work every day, I would say that the 4 greatest posters for totally different reasons are (in no particular order): Nevergiveup, Crayonz, Spagnola and the the long-since vanished Skooby.
  22. Best thread of the year so far, thanks Spags. Unbelievable. Yous guys better be careful or else you may become one of his future "customers."
  23. Evidently Michael Vick had a pretty good season, but he also mamed and tortured dogs. Thoughts?
  24. As a virtual Tecmo God, I can tell you off the top of my head that in the classic game, which is of course the 1991 version based on the 1990 season for NES, New England's QB's are Steve Grogan and Hugh Millen. Thank you.
  25. Why is everyone obsessed with amassing 3rd round picks. Look at our 3rd round pick from last year. Awesome. We have a chance at a real honest-to-God blue chipper for once, let's friggin take one!
