Most girls you hang out with are probably guys...I was in Ocean City a couple weeks ago and everyone was drinking Pina Coladas and frozen drinks and nobody said a word...most girls actually find it childish if a guy pounds his chest about what he drinks I didn't know we had cast members of Jersey Shore on twobillsdrive! Welcome! Where do you get your eyebrows done? All this being said, I'm still way cool with Wood and Levitre and I'm mostly just having fun. But there's definitely a grey area somewhere between drinking incredibly effeminate drinks with miniature umbrellas in them and "pounding your chest" about what you drink. That is where I choose to reside.

No, they'd pull more. Most girls I know would seriously question a dude drinking a pina colada (sp?) What??? Of course I'm in favor of the smoking ban! I just like good beers as do most normal people I know. It's actually the complete opposite of neanderthal-like thinking. I feel that being a beer and whiskey snob is kind of a more sophisticated stance, while drinking Bud Light Lime and pina coladas would tend to be something associated with a more of a meathead type of individual. In fact, of course this is the case.

It does to a certain extent. And I'll take good beer, good whiskey and hot chicks. I too am disappointed in their choice of beverages. I mean where do you draw the line? Wine spritzers? Champagne coolies? Appletinis?

Great post except for one thing. How in God's name do you quantify that fans in San Diego are ten times more concerned about the Chargers moving to LA than Bills fans? That's insane! For one, I've been to a Bills game in San Diego when the Chargers were very good (2005) and I can assure you, judging by the fervor of the fans in attendance, that they are about one-tenth as passionate football fans as are Bills fans. More importantly, in my job I speak with financial advisors all over the country and just within the last day, I've asked two guys from San Diego how concerned they were about the Chargers potentially moving to LA and they both said the same thing- eh, it's only an hour and a half away, they'd still represent SoCal, they'd still be the Chargers, not the end of the world, etc. Not to mention, that is where they were originally based! Not to insinuate that that is representative of every Chargers fan, but still- you wouldn't find one Bills fan that would EVER say such a thing about the possibility of the Bills leaving WNY. Again, I respect your post, but it is difficult for me to take it seriously after that comment. No hard feelings, just telling it like it is. peace, Metz

Bills add scout Theo Young
metzelaars_lives replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh sure I remember this guy. Not the brightest guy in the world, in fact pretty poor high school student. Always used to get into trouble with his friend Cockroach. One of the more notable things he did was when his girlfriend Justine dumped him, he sang her an impassioned version of a song he wrote for her, appropriately titled, "Justine." Sounds like he's made a good career for himself. -
Buffalo's image shrinks further

Is that the frank or the beans? -
Dude the Sabres are cool and everything and they're my second favorite team in all of sports, but come on, we're talkin about the Buffalo f'n Bills. To answer the original poster: it's VERY close, but those saying they'd take a Cup over a Super Bowl are nuts. Although I suppose it's all just personal preference. But one thing people who have only lived in Buffalo have to understand is that if the Sabres won the cup, outside of WNY and Canada, NO ONE WOULD CARE. Your friends would still make fun of you for being from Buffalo. In fact, the Sabres probably will win a Cup at some point sooner than later. If the Bills won the friggin Super Bowl? Are you absolutely kidding me? I can't even put it into words... Put it this way: I wouldn't be able to go into work until at least Wednesday. A better question is: where would you rather be if the Bills won the Super Bowl- the game or Buffalo, NY?

Six teams turn down Hard Knocks. Who's next?
metzelaars_lives replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's weak that they offered it to the Jets again before a team that hasn't already been on there. That's my favorite show ever and I would be pissed if I had to watch the Jets again. -

No NFL? What are your options?
metzelaars_lives replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
None of the above. Hiking and camping throughout the greatest two months of the year- September and October. Something I have never been able to do my entire life because of the Bills. -

Expect an Increase in Crime if Season is Lost
metzelaars_lives replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So Ray Lewis basically thinks that non-football players' lives are so incredibly empty and mundane that without NFL football to follow in the fall they will become so enraged that they will resort to committing crimes. I think that's fair. -
The Bills have so many intriguing prospects whether they be rookies, 2nd or 3rd year players. If 1/2 to 2/3 of them pan out, we'll be in good shape 2-3 years from now. It's impossible to predict which ones will and which ones won't. That being said, I think the Bills offensive line is in really good shape over that time period. I think we have our line for the next five years on our roster right now. If you play the odds, you gotta figure between Urbik, Hairston and Wang, one of them will in fact pan out. If that happens and Bell, Levitre and Wood continue to develop, we'll be in great shape.

Agreed. Aaron Maybin will have a good season when the waterfront is bustling with cool little shops and restaurants, they scrap the Skyway and re-model the Peace Bridge.

Great post. I really think David Nelson will be a good #2 receiver in the NFL for a long time barring injury. On the entire list, I'm inclined to say I have more confidence in him than anyone. I also think Sheppard finds himself in the best position of anyone. He will be the favorite to start at ILB as a rookie. That is a position where you can rack up tackles and take your time to develop even if you haven't caught up to the speed of the game. As opposed to a pass rushing specialist where if you're not getting sacks, people are wondering what your problem is. I look at the glory years of the Bills- watch a Bills classic from 1990 on youtube- virtually everybody making plays was drafted by the Bills. Nix and Gailey have a plan and they're sticking to it. If 1/2 to 2/3 of these guys develop nicely, we're on to something here. It's definitely an exciting time to be a Bills fan. Also, I think Wang will be able to open up big, juicy gaps for the running backs to enter come this September.

Is there any way I can be alerted to twitter translation threads? These are the best. We need to start identifying them with a double asterisk or something. Jive ass dude aint got no brains anyhow...

I am always optimistic about the Bills as well, but 9-3 would be tremendous...

Bills' Fitzpatrick Ranks Poorly Under Pressure
metzelaars_lives replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Simple high school level logic- fact: Fitzpatrick had an average to above average year statistically and fact (according to this study): Fitzpatrick was among the worst in the league with pressure in his face, then: Fitzpatrick must have not had that much pressure last year. Something doesn't add up here... -
Top 10 reasons - What it mean to be a true Bills fan?!
metzelaars_lives replied to Brock's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look- I love the Buffalo Bills like an immediate family member, but this is simply not true. Top 3 or 4? Probably. You really should try and get to Green Bay or Kansas City though. You get all the drinking and the grilling, but it's done in a more adult/family manner as opposed to such a juvenile manner, which you see at Rich Stadium by far too many young punks, particularly in the main lot. Believe me, I would've thought the same thing before I started going to road games. In fairness to Bills fans, they have sucked for so long that it would be interesting to see what the crowd would look like if they were actually good for a few seasons in a row. Agree wholeheartedly w/ number 10. I never go out and always try and get a good night sleep the night before opening day so we can be up drinking, crankin the Hip and throwing the football around by 7-7:30 here in the Rocky Mountain time zone.
