Amazing. I can hear the tone in the post you responded to and the tone in your response and it was priceless. -
Fuel for the fire, Bills lease, property tax hike
metzelaars_lives replied to weehawk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Precisely. In fact, if Romney wins, he'll magically get the $200 million while decreasing your taxes. And he'll create jobs in the process. Obama, on the other hand, is the one who got the Bills into this mess in the first place. He's also the reason we haven't made the playoffs since the Clinton Administration. -
Terrell Owens: Loving him some "me"?

So the dude was strummin chords, big deal. He's right, it's extortion and it's illegal. -
The key is how we stand after 9 games. If they are 5-4 that means they have won some big games and should cruise to 10-6. Even at 4-5 I think they would be in decent shape to make a run at 10-6. Their last 7 games are so incredibly easy (granted a lot can change, but as of now) that I look at it as 2 separate seasons. In order to get to 5-4, the opener at the Jets is freaking HUGE.

Buffalo Bills Regionalization
metzelaars_lives replied to Trader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting question. You may have a point. I live in Denver and Colorado Springs is an hour away and it's a bigger city than Buffalo (granted it doesn't have the suburbs). But the Canada thing is certainly unique. EDIT: Upon further review: Rochester is the 51st biggest metro area in the US (Buffalo is 49th). To have a city that big an hour away, I can't think of too many other teams that have that type of luxury. Not to mention Syracuse is 80th, just ahead of Colorado Springs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_of_United_States_Metropolitan_Statistical_Areas -
Buffalo Bills Regionalization
metzelaars_lives replied to Trader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the laugh. In all seriousness, to the people saying. "this team HAS to regionalize if..." THEY ARE ALREADY EXTREMELY REGIONALIZED. Rochester is a city with a skyline and its own suburbs and is all Bills fans and many of them make the drive. The parking lot is 15-20% Canadian plates on any given Sunday. If they weren't already thoroughly regionalized, they would've left a long time ago. As is stands they already draw from a very decent sized market. -
He's this guy on the Bills who all the intellectual types seem to pile upon and say that he is completely useless.

If the Bills are competitive it will be a moot point because every game will sell out anyway. -
Wait a second- RJD was a Bills fan?

I love the pro-Chris Berman momentum this thread gained since yesterday. Anyone who came up with following nicknames: Ben "Winter" Coates Eric "Sleeping With" Bienemy Carl "Slim" Pickens "Thermal" Thomas "Commander" Cody Carlson Andre "Bad Moon" Rison Vincent "Ultimate" Brisby Natrone "Refried" Means Rickey "Running" Watters is alright with me. Not to mention- and not to pull out the "Uncle Metz" card to the youngsters on the board (I'm 33)- but when I was a kid and Primetime debuted as a show back in the day, it was the best hour of the whole week. You didn't have the access to highlights like you do now. If the Bucs played the Cardinals earlier in the day, you still haven't even seen what that game looks like until 7 PM EST. Not to mention (and here's my biggest claim to fame), I was doing fantasy football as early as 1991 and back then you had to scrap for whatever stats you could get before the next morning when you got to look at the USA Today in school, so Primetime was a great source to see what at least some of your guys did. Chris Berman is the man and the dude is way old school, put your TV on mute during the HR derby. Peace, Metz

OK, let's be honest here. I've been saying that Berman yelling, "back back back gone" during the HR derby sucks since the Clinton Administration. But there's no one I'd rather hear at about 11 AM EST on a Sunday morning in the fall leading a roundtable about the upcoming games. And that video does not show Berman getting "schooled," give me a break, you're smarter than that. So Berman didn't know which direction the stadium opened up toward? Come on. The whole sequence was clearly good natured.

Oh great. There are reports that Chan Gailey and Buddy Nix were caught womanizing chicks at McMonkeez on Chippewa last weekend. -
Truthfully I'd be shocked if Scott McKillop ever fully recovers. To understand Scott McKillop, you have to understand who Scott McKillop is, where he came from. In short, Scott McKillop was a man with a horrible disease. He could not find no cure, won't you help him if you please? Then one day Scott McKillop came to my door, asking me for change. His eyes were clear and pure, but his mind was so deranged. Again, I don't see him ever coming back and being the force he once was- not from a disease like that.

It's so easy to just throw out the OL excuse, but if you happen to recall, our OL in 2007 and possibly 2008 as well- I'd have to check the #'s- was one of the better lines in all of football. '08 was the year Peters held out throughout the pre-season because he had become a breakout star the year before and the pass protection was up there with any team in the league. Just saying. -

Question for OP: Go to the Bills home opener this year. Find a kid who looks to be about 22 years old with an old McGahee jersey where he has taken a large piece of masking tape and written "McDrunk" on it and placed it over the old name. Make sure he has a chinstrap beard, is funneling beers and still lives in the suburb in which he grew up. Quiz him about his football knowledge. Is he representative of all Bills fans? -

Booooo Steve Young- guy was taken in the freakin supplemental draft and didn't see the field for years in SF after sucking in Tampa Bay Rod Smith- Dude wasn't even drafted! Fred Jackson- guy wasn't even drafted Tom Brady- dude was out of shape at the combine, was a backup in college and was drafted in the 6th round! What a loser! Wait- why did I bother responding to this post? -

Fitzpatrick Under the Gun

well done. -
We don't have one. We could say Miami but they would tell you their most hated team/rival is the Jets. It's not the SEC, it's the NFL, it is what it is. Look at the NFC East. Which is the biggest rivalry? There isn't one, all four teams hate eachother equally.
-
Disagree completely. If Peyton Manning stays healthy (which I'm not sure he will, but if he does...) and he is 75% of his former self, the Broncos will skip and whistle their way to the AFC West title. Reasoning: look at those Colts teams- bad defenses, a couple playmakers and that's it. This Broncos team already has a decent defense and a pretty good OL. All he has to do is turn D. Thomas and Decker into legit 1 and 2 receivers and like I said, they will have no problem winning that division.

Wait- according to this website our offensive line sucked last year. This can't be right?
