  1. It's not that often that you'll hear me say this, but I stand corrected. Well done. I could've sworn it was a regular season game against the Raiders, but you are definitely right. But to my point, how many time have you heard someone say, "I was at a game back in '89 and it was 20 below zero?" EDIT: OR the Raiders game I was talking about was #3! Oh well, I guess for whatever reason I don't remember those two games at the end of '93 for their coldness. But for some strange reason, I was 9 years old and I still remember being like, Dad it's freaking 8 degrees, this is insane. It's days like those that make you a lot tougher growing up in a place like Buffalo. We all know exactly how to prepare and dress for those conditions. And FWIW, I was at the Bills-Broncos game out here in 2008. And anyone who lives in a dry climate at altitude will tell you that 17 degrees out here doesn't feel anywhere near as cold as it does by the shores of Lake Erie.
  2. 33. First game was the 1985 season opener against the Chargers in the drizzling rain with Vince Ferragamo at the helm. I was 6 and sat in my Dad's Channel 4 box. I still remember it. They lost, of course. Had season tickets from 87-94 so I saw it all. Of course those seats were outside. OK random sidebar- from someone who's actually been to all these games that are now legendary, people love to throw around fake temperatures at games they went to. The coldest game I ever went to was a December regular season game against the Raiders when it was 8 degrees. I hear people throw around "below 0" all the time. Never happened* Does anyone else remember that Raiders game? Edit: *1985-present
  3. Is this anywhere near the 7-11 lot? That's where I'll be. Would be cool to come say hi.
  4. Agreed 100% I was watching the RNC a few weeks ago and Romney says Obama's economic plan will raise taxes on the middle class and do nothing to reduce the defecit. Meanwhile, his plan will actually create jobs and lower the defecit. I never realized it was that cut and dry, but apparently it is. Talk about a no-brainer! Anyway, everytime I have someone going to Buffalo for a night or two and they want to know where to go, I tell them the same thing and I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet on this thread. You want the Buffaloest Buffalo experience with the best wings: COLE'S
  5. Trade Jackson back to Seattle for a 5th rounder and sign Vince Young. No-brainer.
  6. I've been to 8 dfferent NFL stadiums and Bills fans are easily the most classless I've encountered. Walk through the main lot with an opposing jersey at about 12:15 when all the people funneling Blue Light who wouldn't be able to afford a ticket in any other NFL stadium are really hitting their stride. This guy could've been sitting behind you in any stadium, but don't impugn and entire fanbase espeicially when yours (ours) is one of the raunchiest.
  7. Agreed. I've been a Bills fan long enough to know that Nelson will be on the IR tomorrow and Roosevelt will be signed by Tuesday. And so it goes...
  8. Agreed. I say we trade him for a 4th round pick.
  9. Just to be clear, you're from Buffalo and are citing women in New England as being overweight?
  10. Obviously I didn't take the time to read any more of the responses but I suspect many of them were in line with this one. Either this guy is trying to be the new crayonz or this is in fact the dumbest thread I have ever seen.
  11. I'm with you. I don't care that the "Jets own us" as of late. This is a brand new season and none of that matters. THE 2012 JETS ARE GOING TO SUCK. And yes, everything you're saying is exactly why I've been telling everyone who will listen that they have to be at 5-4 going into the home stretch. If they're at 5-4, they'll be in great shape. If they're 4-5, it would still be possible. If they're 6-3, we're talking about a team that could be in a position to actually WIN a playoff game, not just get there. But make no mistake about it, games 4-9 are no joke whatsoever. We're gonna have to sneak out a game we're not supposed to win. But that's what makes the opener so freaking important.
  12. You'll be just as excited come September 9th...
  13. And my theory is upheld once again! Football players' individual highlight tapes are always accompanied by my favorite music.
  14. Wow. I read all the comments too. The people who knock the Bills fans at the stadium are 100% right. But I would agree, I wish it was still cold in Buffalo like it was when I was a kid 20 years ago, but those days are seemingly long gone. When's the last time it really was "2 degrees for a game in December" as people ALWAYS allude to in articles like this? More like 45 degrees with drizzling rain. Which is actually more depressing. The Buffalo accent is pretty much identical to the Chicago accent. I think it's really a Polish-American accent more than anything.
  15. I figured out a way we could get Bonds and Griffey and we don't even have to give up that much.
  16. Agreed. Speculative trade threads with no basis whatsoever are my least favorite threads. Even if it was a hockey rumor started by Eklund, at least there's SOMETHING to go on. But a post about the Colts trading the 1st pick of the 2nd round who is best friends with their new franchise QB and probably going to catch a ton of balls this season for our 2nd round pick from last year who has been, according to many, a pretty big disappointment so far? Honestly, posts like this should get shut down. And the OP has been making quite a few of these lately. Wait til you have something of substance before starting a thread. I guess we are just in the dog days of summer and the regular season cannot come soon enough.
  17. I thought this was post was gonna be about Chelsea Handler and I was disappointed to see it was about Scott Chandler.
  18. Schopp used to be amazing when he was on 107.7 sports talk for smart people and he used to slam WGR when the Coach was there. The competition did that station well. Then when 107.7 went under or whatever and Schopp went to GR, he swore that he wouldn't change, but he changed the day he got there and has never been the same. The Steve Tasker "sure" soundbyte was unbelievable. The situation is kind of like when the WWF used to be awesome because they had to compete against Nitro every week, but once Vince bought WCW, the WWF product went down the proverbial tubes. Competition does people well.
  19. Dude the agreement was 3 preseason games over 5 years. They would play a preseason game in Toronto in years 1, 3 and 5. This is year 4. Am I wrong? Edit: Actually, this is year 5. So, not sarcastically, am I wrong?
  20. Obviously. I've always felt that Rick Jeanerette gets a little too much hype in this town (love the guy, but find him a lot over the top a lot of the time- the Pominville's population going up call used to really get under my skin), when we had what I consider to be the best NFL home announcer (obviously Al Michaels doesn't count) I have ever heard. His voice is synonymous with my childhood. "OK folks, fasten your safety belts," amongst others. I love that man. Now you see, John Murphy was his right hand man. And an amazing color guy at that. He is now a below average announcer, but I give him the benefit of the doubt because he was part of Van's team and therefore he's part of the Bills' tradition. And Mark Kelso is a very good color man IMO. Can't wait to get berated for my Jeanerette comments, but I think the guy is a little hammy not just sometimes, but often. I'm alright with Murph. He's an old school Buffalo voice. And yes, Van Miller was the freaking man. Feel sorry for the youngsters on the board who never got to hear him. Also, Ted Darling > Rick Jeanerette.
  21. Of course the Packers wouldn't. Who as a Bills fan wouldn't is what I meant there.
