OK I'll take the bait. I will admit- I am in Denver and after that game, I stared blankly for ten minutes and then said, f*@&t it, I'm not gonna wallow in this one all day, I'm going for a hike. So, five beers deep mind you, I headed up to beautiful Evergreen, CO for a two-hour hike and by the time it was done, I had flushed the misery out of my system. I would agree that if you are actually in Buffalo, you are forced to deal with it a little harder. In fact, after miserable Bills losses like that one, one of my buddies out here always says, "these are the days you're glad you're not in Buffalo." All that being said, my analysis is just as sound as someone in Syracuse's. It's preposterous to say otherwise.

I can't do this anymore

Am I the only one who finds these weekly posts very similar to when the guy breaks down and cries his first night in Shawshank? We should start taking bets on who it's gonna be each week. -
??? Without even looking it up, he was an NFL head coach for what? 5 years? He won a freaking Super Bowl for the Bucs and had his Raiders team poised to win in New England, all the while turning Rich Gannon into an NFL MVP. And I don't even like the guy.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he won't be as good as Marshawn Lynch in Seattle. Or McGahee for that matter.

Everyone close your eyes for just one second and imagine a fan of an opposing team- let's even say the Cardinals- doing that at a game in Buffalo. I think we all know how it would end for him.

Chan/Whisenhunt Reactions to Bad Penalties

Dude, what in the world is the deal with your name (it's 'sandwich' BTW) and avatar? Just curious if I'm missing a reference or something? -
Bills fanbase power ranking
metzelaars_lives replied to kickedface's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went to Bills-Seahawks in 2004. I found their fans to be very nice and welcoming. But we took over that parking lot and every single fan I talked to- to a man- said seattle is a Mariners town first. I would put the Chiefs #2 behind the Packers. -
6 Worst Teams In The League

Are you kidding? Jay Cutler and Andrew Luck aren't playing any better than Ryan Fitzpatrick? You should get a warning point for trolling on that one. -
6 Worst Teams In The League
metzelaars_lives replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing Buddy Nix has done more than previous regimes, at least in the last two drafts, was take the obvious pick. The guy that most prognosticators would have us take in that spot- Dareus, Gilmore, Glenn, Brooks, etc. This as opposed to Whitner over Ngata, Troup over Gronkowski (not Nix's pick). Everyone in the world knows we need to take a QB in the first round next year and I believe we will. And yes, I still believe in Buddy Nix. And you could throw the Bucs in that category as well. They may be the worst team in the NFC right now. -
Agreed 100% I can't go anywhere without people clamoring for Nigel Bradham to start at weakside linebacker for the Bills over Arthur Moats. Even here in Denver it's a hot topic. I hear in Buffalo it's turning into a near-riot situation as the fans have lined up on Hertel Avenue and are protesting with megaphones, chanting, "WE WANT BRADHAM! WE WANT BRADHAM!" and at least two people have been injured after police had to use tear gas. Looks like our soft front office has finally relented to the fans' demands.

Is Stephon Gilmore a potential BUST?
metzelaars_lives replied to Buffalo 66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude, you come on here and start a thread saying, "our first round pick could be a potential bust" and also, "I haven't really been watching him play." People are trying to help you here seeing as though you haven't been paying attention and a guy offers that he looked good in pre-season, which he did and you give him a condescending "really?" REALLY?? -
Buddy Nix is the problem
metzelaars_lives replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Say whatever you want about Nix's drafts, but he picked up Chandler, Urbik and Pears off of other teams' scrap heaps. If any of those guys were on our practice squad and another team picked them up and they went on to become viable NFL starters elsewhere, which all of them have, we would be lambasting the Bills. -
Bills vs good teams away from home
metzelaars_lives replied to fedup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually remember that game well. Kelly Holcomb had a PERFECT game. And IIRC, Jason Peters had a fumble recovery for a TD on special teams when he was still technically a tight end. -
OK then take the Chargers, a team whose record is probably a little bit better than how good they are (3-1) to beat the Saints, who we all know are not dropping to 0-5. Teams records always have a way of venturing toward the middle unless they're exceptionally good or bad. Didn't everyone on here agree that we had a tough time seeing the Patriots losing 3 straight? Teams get hungrier and lax depnding on previous weeks. Like the Ravens just played an epic game against New England down to the wire and then had to turn around and play Cleveland on a Thursday. For Cleveland, this was their Super Bowl. No surprise Baltimore had a bit of a letdown and wasn't able to cover the spread. Rest assured if they had lost that game to New England, they would have come out with a greater sense of urgency and pulverized Cleveland. So, unlike a wheel, football teams do have memories and if you look for trends like this, you can become a successful gambler.

Apparently there is some sort of pool that I was unaware of. Either way, picking games before the season is dumb. I am 1-3 this year because I predicted a win against the Jets, then a loss in each of the next three. When I say this, I have a feeling a lot of people may agree: I say we come out and surprise everyone this week by playing the 49ers very tough, maybe even taking a late lead. But alas, the Bills have lost two blowouts, we are way overdue for a heartbreaker. So I say Bills play a tough game and lose in agonizing fashion in the last minute or maybe even overtime. As far as the Arizona game, I am really pulling for Arizona to win this week, because if they do, they aint going 6-0 (law of averages) and I'll love the Bills to win in week 6. And also, dude you started a thread to tell everyone that you're not ready to pick the game for this week, but will be updating your pick later in the week?

Brady: They dared us to run
metzelaars_lives replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree with almost every statement on this thread. The Patriots are an excellent offense. But why overhaul what has generally been working and run a specialty defense as your base defense every single play of the game?? It's insane. It's like putting on the shift in baseball against every batter. And then shockingly, when the whole dime defense/no blitzing thing clearly wasn't working anymore, there are no adjustments to be found. How little confidence must they have in Sheppard and Moats? What other team would play and entire football game without a freaking middle linebacker? Sorry Ray Lewis, we're playing the Patriots this week, you're gonna be sitting this one out... -
I've been championing the Bills OL since the very beginning of last year, but according to the majority of posters on here- at least prior to this season- the O-Line was/is still an area of concern and an average NFL offensive line. They may very well be the best offesnive line in the NFL right now. And having Hairston as your swing man aint too shabby. Let's just hope they can remain healthy.

#BillsMafia getting some press....

I'm getting old. -
Not dismissing anything. Yesterday was a huge gut check and they played a very solid all-around game. Doesn't change the fact that the Browns suck. In other words, the Bills can play a good game and beat the Browns AND the Browns can suck. I saw people on the first page of the thread saying that they could be a 6-7 win team. Maybe in the XFL.

OK I had to sign in on my Mom's computer to chime in on this one (I'm home visiting, I don't live with my Mom). Guys, the Browns freaking suck. Give me a break.
