If you take away the Patriots' last decade, their existence is an abomination. I didn't say that 17 years out of 52 is something to celebrate, I said it is not "staggering futility."

15 of 16 on the season. It's time for him to go. -
I would disagree with Bucky on one point: he said that making the playoffs 17 out of 52 times is "a staggering record for futility." That's just about exactly 1/3 of the time. For a good amount of those 52 years, 4 teams in the AFC made it out of 14, which is, of course, less than 1/3 of the teams. Now 6 out of 16 make it, or just more than 1/3. I would say making the playoffs 1/3 of the time is pretty close to average, if not ever-so-slightly below. I'm sure if you look at other teams, there are plenty that have made the playoffs less than 1/3 of the years in their existence including many teams that are good now- Falcons, Saints, etc. That's just a matter of poor journalism and/or a lack of perspective.

Whoa. We're gonna have to agree to disagree on that one. Lindsay Lohan in her prime (which is definitely Mean Girls) was freaking hot. I would put her 1, Tina Fey 2, Rachel MacAdams 3 (way overrated BTW) and I'm assuming we're counting Amanda Seyfried here? If you think she is hotter than Lindsay Lohan in her prime then you must just think redheads are yucky or something because that's egregious. -

You know who throws a great ball downfield? Tim Tebow. Actually he doesn't but he wills it to his receivers with his heart and desire. Aint that right, Peter Pan? -

Fireman Ed Quits...can Bills Elvis be far behind?

How about Kenny? Can you imagine still going to late-season meaningless road games after all these years? P.S. Fireman Ed was/is such a tool. This is the first cool thing he's ever done. -

Yes he caught a huge pass last year against New England down the sidelines over his shoulder on the winning drive and ended up with over 100 yards in the game. Have you ever made a good post in a big spot? -
Why is SJ13 getting a pass???

Met him and his wife at the airport a few years ago on a layover to Buffalo. I told my Dad and he was jealous that I got to meet him. What a nice guy. Appeared to be in great health. Biggest I hands I ever seen. Before my time, but I respect it. RIP. -
No I wouldn't. I'm a traditionalist. I think it's sacrilege when the Bears wear those orange uniforms, the Eagles black, even the Dolphins orange. I don't get it at all, never had, never will (well I do get it, obviously it's a money thing). Then again, most people on here will stay stuff like, "I don't care if the Bills wear pink as long as they win." On the other hand, I am way cool with when the Bucs and Patriots wear their throwbacks, those are both sick unis. As are the Bills throwbacks they've worn since what? 2005? But no, I would be adamantly against any sort of red third jersey. You asked.

Such an amateur post. Do you have any idea how many players on every team are castaways from other teams? So, the Cowboys are a joke for letting go Chandler, the Steelers for Urbik, etc., etc., etc., etc. And what would you want him to start over Spiller or something?

I've never been to a game in San Fran. I'm basing this off of a Real Sports episode I saw recently where they featured 49ers fans, plus my friend used to live there and said it can get pretty hardcore, that's all. As far as here in Denver, no, even if they're playing the Chiefs it's still tamer than a meaningless Bills game in December. And FWIW, the crowds here are super-wine and cheese- I absolutely loathe Broncos fans. By and large, Bills fans are WAY better. That being said, you are less likely to deal with a 20 year-old drunken buffoon who has no knowledge of the team but is only at the game to get as bombed as humanly possible, cause trouble and would probably only be able to afford and have access to a ticket in a place like Buffalo. That's all I'm saying. Dude, I freaking love Bills fans, please don't get me wrong.

Regardless of whether or not you agree with me, I think it's pretty easy to surmise that I'm a smart enough guy. Do you really think that I would suggest that in the history of Lambeau Field or Arrowhead, etc., that there has never been one unruly drunk fan that has caused trouble? Listen, I'm beating a dead horse here, but when I went to Lambeau in 2010 I was absolutely blown away by the hospitality, the friendliness, the extent to which it was actually a family atmosphere, etc. "Oh you guys are Bills fans? That's great! Glad you could make it! Come on over, we have extra food. Make sure you go in early, there's going to be a flyover today, you don't want to miss it." At the Bills-Chiefs game this year, I saw people blatantly ripping rails in their cars at 10 in the morning, young punks funneling beers wearing jester hats who have (I'm sure) never even heard of Kent Hull, no one cleaning up after themselves, girls passed out before the game started, F-bombs galore, etc. If you really think that the behavior at a Bills game is on par with the majority of the league, then you simply have not been to other stadiums and/or really gotten a chance to tailgate and interract with other fans at other stadiums* *with the exception of a few- Philly, Oakland, San Fran And if you still disagree with me, I ask you to try going to another stadium sometime and find their equvalent of our main lot. I can save you the trouble: it doesn't exist. My friend says it best- he says that the main lot at about 12:30 looks like Baghdad the morning after a shock and awe campaign.
-
Thank you. Can we hear from some people who actually live in other cities and know what their tailgate scenes are like? I've already stated that there is none of that drunken idiocy in Denver the way there is in Buffalo. But the way this thread is going, someone is going to cherry pick an article from like 2005 and say, "look some drunk guy did something stupid at a Broncos game seven years ago." It's like if this were a thread about murder on the East Side and people kept finding articles about someone getting shot in Amherst in the 90's or something and saying, "See? Someone got shot in Amherst once. It's no more or less safe than the East Side of Buffalo." It's incredible the perspective that some people on here lack. And also, did anyone read that story that Gordio wrote last page about what happened to him and his friends last week? That is insane. But it doesn't surprise me ONE BIT. I have been to plenty of stadiums where that would never happen to us in a million years and we were wearing the other teams' jerseys!
-
You and I usually see eye to eye, but I really disagree with you on this one. You just mentioned the other two stadiums where it does happen- Oakland and Philadelphia. I would throw San Fran in there as well. I'm telling you man- go to a game in Kansas City or Seattle or Green Bay or Minnesota sometime. It is a whopping, unmistakable difference. You know how you walk through the main lot before kickoff and there's 22 year-old kids with jester hats funneling Busch Light, puking and swearing at opposing fans? There is not any sort of equivalent to that here in Denver. And yes I know it CAN happene anywhere just once, but if you are going to sit here and tell me there's not a discernable difference between a Bills crowd and a Chiefs crowd, you simply have not been to Arrowhead. Although the majority of Bills fans are cool, there is a very sizeable low brow element at every game that is unmistakable. Dude that was an exceptional situation because Brett Favre returned to Lambeau AND it was a night game. And yes, 43 people got ejected. For a regular old meaningless Bills-Dolphins game last week, 94 PEOPLE GOT EJECTED. Read the article. I'm beginning to get the sense that very few people on here have been to opposing stadiums.
-
Did anyone read this new article about the two guys who got the s*** beat out of them at the Miami game? And these were Bills fans?!? Just wanted to make it clear to the complete bozo who said that these kinds of things happen just the same at every NFL stadium and then added a "carry on" for good measure. Folks, this type of thing DOES NOT happen at every NFL stadium and is really a black eye for Bills fans. Yeah all it takes is one, but there isn't "one" at Packers games.

5 biggest dissappointments this year...todate
metzelaars_lives replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To the OP: Look at Mario Williams' career numbers. He's on pace to do just about what he always does. He's going to have double digit sacks. If you ask any Texans fan in the world, they'd tell you the same thing: he has a few big games and then can absolutely disappear for games on end. If you consider him a disappointment, I guess you hadn't really followed his career. What you see is what you get. And he's definitely an improvement over what we had, but yeah, being the Buffalo Bills we had to overpay for him. -

You mean like Tebow, right? -
This is great! I didn't realize there were so many people on here who were into phish too. And I love the responses from people who actually do go to shows and don't just base their knowledge of phish off of some stereotype. There's not drunken buffoons at phish shows swearing at you and threatening to fight you if you're wearing another band's t-shirt. And people at phish shows know a lot about phish. As opposed to the younger crowd at Bills games who don't know anything about the Bills and are just there to get bombed and cause trouble.
-
You are dead wrong my friend. This is exactly why I am always quick to point out that yes, the Bills have great fans- mostly the Canadians- but they are not the best. Because of the price of tickets, the younger crowd at Bills games is really, really offensive. Has been ever since I've been going to games in the 80's as a little kid. Go to a game in Seattle, Kansas City, Green Bay, etc. Fans are friendly, welcoming, mature and you DO NOT have that element that you get at Bills and Raiders games. Carry on.
