  1. No it doesn't. Wow. Way off. First off, you can't exclude a guy. Second of all, Damien Covington was a complete stud until he DIED. John Holecek was good too and I believe he even started on that defense that was ranked #1 in (I believe it was) '99? Darrick Holmes was a a steal that late in the draft, are you kidding me? This thread has really exposed those who have unrealistic expectations for draft classes and think that other teams must hit on all of their picks or something. The OP was right about the 2000 draft, but this is overkill.
  2. Wow. That is insane. Out of an entire first round, who turned out to be an impact player in the pros? Lewis, Burress, Urlacher, Abraham, Peterson, Janikoswski, Pennington, Alexander, Hovan and Bulluck. I guess Shaun Ellis was OK. But even of those guys, none of them were insanely good except Urlacher. Perhaps the Raiders weren't so crazy taking Janikowski after all. I think there is a collective sinking feeling around here that this year's draft could turn out a lot like this one.
  3. Yeah shouldn't be a problem. Shawn Nelson... Derek Fine...
  4. Stretch of a topic. Impact of scheme change way overrated, especially on defense. If a guy can play, he can play.
  5. I am the biggest football fan I know. I haven't missed a Bills game since the mid 1980's. I could tell you where just about any relevant football player played college. My friends always ask me the football questions during games. I have no idea who these guys are based solely on their last names. Jimmy Smith the CB relegated to special teams duties for Baltimore? Former first round pick (out of Colorado, incidentally)? Sounds awfully similar to a CB on the Bills.
  6. You'd be more than a happy camper. You'd be God-like because you'd have just predicted the single least likely to occur scenario in the history of the universe.
  7. Yeah me too. The guy stinks. Agreed. Denver made a huge mistake bringing in Peyton Manning last year.
  8. Tremendous post. I agree with everything you said. Although I think Ray Lewis is a nutjob and his act is beyond played out, I can't help but think it is in fact sincere. And Tebow praises God when he wins and when he loses- like the game at Buffalo last year- he says, "Oh well, there are far more important things than football. Football is just a game. Spreading the gospel is way more important, etc." Suffice it to say, football is clearly not just a game to Ray Lewis. And that's the type of attitude I want on my football team.
  9. Ever since the first Super Bowl I can remember- Bears-Patriots- I always just want to see a good game. Never root for a team other than the Bills except the Bucs over the Raiders (the Bucs have always kind of been my NFC team). In fact, I'd almost just assume the Patriots, the Steelers, the Packers, etc. win the Super Bowl every year because it makes me even more depressed when another new fanbase like the Saints gets to experience what I've never gotten to experience.
  10. Exactly what I said. If the Bills had that many average players and elite players and that few red players, they would've made the playoffs. Again, how can this guy have the player that PFF had ranked dead last out of every receiver in the NFL ranked as average? Ryan Fitzpatrick- at least right now- is a far better QB than TJ Graham is a receiver or Kelvin Sheppard is a LB for that matter. So as long as you play every game or you're not Ryan Fitzpatrick, you're an adequate starter?
  11. Dude the Bills are not going to start Keith Williams or Mana Silva next year even if Levitre and Byrd both walk (which they won't). They would plug those holes with players who are better at their respective positions than Kelvin Sheppard is at LB or Donald Jones is at WR. You say "yikes" about both of those guys who you've never seen play (who knows, maybe they're good) yet you give satisfactory grades to guys we know are not NFL caliber starters. I like the effort but you need to understand that just because a guy starts all season (Sheppard and Jones) does not make them "average" or "adequate."
  12. I watched every second of every game this year save for the Jacksonville game and the second Jets game and I don't recall him dropping too many passes. Don't forget, it doesn't count as a dropped pass if it's an errant throw; it's gotta be a pass that he should have had.
  13. I appreciate the effort you put into this, but I don't get it. So I'm assuming 1 means biggest need and 9 means not a need? Why are the Cleveland Browns a 9 at QB? Many of the numbers seem to be so random. Why are the Broncos a 4? They feel very strongly about Brock Osweiler when Peyton Manning- who has a solid two years in him- retires. I could go on and on, but like I said, I don't get it atll. Am I missing something?
  14. You made a mistake about football players, but you are certain as to how the Earth was created and to what extent God played a role? Let me make something abundantly clear: if you believe that there is a 100% chance that God exists, much the same way you are certain Wegmans exists, YOU ARE INSANE. If you believe that there is between a 1 and 99% chance that God exists but what would like to believe he exists because it helps you sleep at night, then that is a rational thought. Either way, you, me, Ray Lewis, Tim Tebow, priests, rabbis- none of us know anything more about anything related to this subject than any man that has ever walked the face of the earth. There is only one logical answer when asked about this subject and that is: I DON'T KNOW. But I do know that trading Mario Williams for John Skelton would have proved to be an enormous blunder.
  15. So just to be clear, I'm supposed to listen to the guy who suggested we trade Mario Williams for John Skelton about God's hand in the creation of the universe? Edit: Oh man, eball beat me to it! I was certain I had an all-time zinger there!
  16. Cause I'm from Buffalo, New York, motherf****r.
  17. You should be banned from this board forever. Two balls a game? At least? Implying sometimes 3-4? So he drops well over 30 KEY balls a year? Why am I responding to you? Are you in middle school? Has he dropped 5 passes as a Bill? After re-reading this guy's post, he's gotta be a troll. I feel like an idiot for getting duped. I'm a big Chandler fan.
  18. Hey we agree twice in one day. Only thing is I would go Tyler Wilson/Tyler Bray/Mike Glennon/Ryan Nassib. Yet I admit that I know very little. Just a gut on the QB's and based on what I've read from various prognosticators.
  19. It's such an incredible crap shoot. I find it so amusing that people on here are certain of who is and isn't going to be a good pro. I have no idea myself. They're going to take a QB in rds 1 or 2 and whoever they take I will get very excited about.
  20. Bozo happened to be a tremendously well-respected clown- perhaps the most respected of his era. I'm sorry for the personal attack, but your "well should we ban alcohol now?" comment was so incredibly predictable and so easily refuted.
  21. That's preposterous. Possible? Yes. As likely? Give me a break. This is why I come on here for football information and discussion. But I can't resist responding when the bozos come out of the woodwork.
  22. Agreed 100%. But if he just got drunk and he didn't own a gun, the worst that would have happened is he would have hit her and she'd still be alive and would be able to seek help. The point is that by having the gun around, their dispute escalated into a death quicker than it would have had there not been a gun sitting around. Over 100,000 people were intentionally wounded or killed by firearms in America last year. How many people were intentionally run down by automobiles? Sadly, yes, other things can also kill us, but those are usually accidents. I hope you can recognize the distinction, Charlton.
  23. Of course I get your point. And I'm not that easily offended, believe me. Do you get my point too? Are guns as incidental to these two deaths as the alcohol he consumed? The steak he ate for dinner? The mouthwash he used? The Axe body spray he applied? Of all these inanimate objects/substances, there is only one that can be used to end someone else's life within a matter of seconds. So to answer your question, no, I do not anticiapte Bob Costas coming out in favor of any sort of alcohol ban.
  24. Wow. Can't believe it took someone this long in the thread to go there. And if he had steak for dinner, then we should ban steak too, right? We get it, you're very clever.
  25. Everyone knows he can't kick for touchbacks, but to praise another aging kicker who has actually been cut before because he hit a 49-yarder in a dome is a little ridiculous. When Lindell lines up for 40-50 yarders, I have more confidence in him than I would in most kickers in the league.
