Not sure if you're kidding or not, but I actually agree with you and I posted something to this effect yesterday. If you trust Buddy picking up mid-round draft picks from other teams' practice squads with good measurables (see: Urbik, Rinehart, Chandler) then there's no reason to think Colin Brown won't be more than servicable. David Snow looked decent at the end of last year too. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Bills' OL is gonna be just fine and people will realize that Nix made the right call not re-signing Levitre.

Tebow. What have we got to lose ?

We're not that far off, you and me. We already have that guy: TARVARIS JACKSON- who is infinitely better right now than Tebow could/will ever be. -

Am I the only one who thinks Colin Brown and David Snow will be fine for the Bills? The Colin Brown pickup was nearly indentical to the Urbik and Rinehart pickups: guys signed from other teams' PS's who were drafted in the middle rounds and have pedigrees. -

Oh Jesus, you're one of them aren't you. Because it's like watching a car wreck. What the hell. I agree that Fitz has no chance of improving. 100%. He is what he is. I also think there's an even lesser chance that Tim Tebow could ever throw for 3,000+ yards and 25+TD's in 3 consecutive seasons for any team in any offense in any era in any league of any gender that has ever played the game of American football. Ever. -

Mods, end this f****n thread already. It makes sane peoples' blood boil and it exposes the lunatics. I didn't even read past the first couple posts. This is the TBD equivalent of trash television- think Maury Povich paternity tests but way stupider. -
Ranking Bills Last 3 Starting QBs

Disagree whole-heartedly. Losman had an absolute cannon and could really run. He's one of those guys like Geno Smith who wanted to be a traditional pocket passer but would have been best served if he played to his talents and took off more. I mean Losman could really run. To be honest, Losman, Edwards and Fitz were all above average scramblers. I think Edwards was suited to be a game manager. As far as physical tools, there's no question Losman had Edwards beat. -

Completion % is similar but look at the games of Losman and Edwards vs. Fitzpatrick. What is the difference? Let's see... FITZPATRICK THREW THE BALL TO WIDE RECEIVERS!!! When you're chucking the ball all over the field (I think most would agree that Fitz is/was TOO much of a "gunslinger) it's going to be harder to compile as high of a completion percentage vs. two guys (especially one of them) who were infamous for dumping the ball off to their running back when they came under the slightest durress. I'm actually shocked Fitz's completion % isn't a lot lower than that of the other two. Look at his yards per game. Over 50 yards more per game than both Losman and Edwards. Or about 33% more. -
One Year Ago- A Trip Down Memory Lane
metzelaars_lives replied to Jamie Nails's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh come on, gotta take credit where credit's due. As far as this year, I have no scoop, but as I have mentioned in another thread, I would really like them to make a run at Danario Alexander. Although I have heard rumblings that Fitz is a goner. Starting to question my surce though, because I kind of thought it would've happened yesterday it at all. I guess we'll know today for sure. -

Who was the one who started that thread and broke the story that the Bills would be meeting with Mario Williams again? I can't remember that far back. -
No way that we do nothing.

Didn't realize Danario Alexander was available. I think I'd be more giddy about him signing with the Bills than anyone else that's been mentioned so far. He was an absolute monster for San Diego the second half of last year. Not to mention, he fits the exact mold of the receiver Nix is always blabbing about. I would have to change my pants if they signed Alexander. -
First and foremost, that is Tecmo Super Bowl. The greatest video game of all-time, sports or otherwise. Period, end of story. And no, every player in the game allowed their name to be used save for three: Kelly, Cunningham and Kosar (who are QB Bills, QB Eagles and QB Browns respectively). Newbs will tell you how great Randall is- and he's good, don't get me wrong- but if you know how to play defense, the Eagles are very beatable. Same with the Raiders and Bo Jackson. You wanna play me and be the Raiders? I'll beat you with the Bucs. Jay Schroeder sucks. It is far more important to have a good QB. And also very critical that you have a fast DB. Testaverde is underrated. I could go all night...

He's a classic 3-4 OLB, but good football players are good football players. You're over-thinking this man. Teams like the Ravens and the Steelers stopped to talking about "schemes" and "fitting players into schemes" 5 years ago. You find a way to get your seven best guys on the field. Not saying Dumervil is great, he's not, but he's gonna have ten sacks for whatever team he plays for. Look at a guy like Kyle Williams. He's played 3-4 DE, NT and 4-3 DT in the last three years and he's always about the same wherever he plays. Actually, he was the best at NT, which most people would assume he's least-suited to play based on his "measurables."

Ranking Bills Last 3 Starting QBs
metzelaars_lives replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Alright Gordan Gecko, there's a huge difference betwen something speculative like an investment and looking at game film from the last decade and talking about who is a better QB. For instance, you could say that Aaron Rodgers is going to have a down year next year and most people would tell you you're crazy, but it hasn't happened yet, so you can't be proven wrong until the event you're speculating about transpires. In this case, every imaginable statistic plus the eye test would indicate to every other Bills fan I've ever known except you that Ryan Fitzpatrick was a better QB than JP Losman or Trent Edwards by a considerable margin. We get it, you don't like Fitzpatrick, but just to be clear: every post you make defending your point of view is diminishing your credibility as a poster on this website. I still think there's a good chance you're trolling on this one. This is how outlandish your point of view is. Look at every other response. So by your line of reasoning, the Bills offense took a plunge after Fitz replaced Edwards in 2010, correct? -

I had a long post and I lost it. Not gonna re-write it. All I'll say is Joe, it should tell you something that it's been since yesterday and you're still the only one who believes this. This is an entire website devoted to all things Buffalo Bills and you may literally be the only one on the entire website who believes this. It's really kind of insane. Do you remember the 6-3 game against the Browns? The home loss against the 49ers? Fitz took an offense that was pathetic, putrid, unwatchable, embarrassing, et al under your buddy Edwards and turned them into an average NFL offense. Period, end of story. All the numbers are there to back it up. Between 2005 and 2009 under your buddies, they never ranked higher than 25th on offense. They ranked 30th twice. The last two seasons with Fitz taking basically every snap, they've finished 14th and 19th. The gap in points scored is even more "sizemic." 3 years- 3,000+ yards, 25+ TD's each year. Numbers that Losman or Edwards could never even dream of putting up. You really gotta let this one go. -
This Week Fitz 's roster Bonus due.

Great post. I agree 1000% When Fitz got in that Patriots linebackers face this year, I was totally feelin the dude more than ever. And ya know what? He had some damn good games in a Buffalo Bills uniform. Including that very game- until the last throw in the end zone, the guy played as close to a perfect game as you can play. But sadly, that was his M.O.- couldn't close. I would add though, that while I would agree in blaming Nix for riding him as long as he did, I would credit Gailey for getting more out of him than most coaches would have. To be honest, I think Gailey is one of the better offensive coordinators in the game today. Unfortunately he is not a very good game manager. -

I have some solid inside info that Fitz is more than likely getting cut. This is not as strong as when I broke the Mario Williams story a year ago, but I can tell you that it is pretty close to a done deal. Not staking my reputation on this one though. -

1. I have a tendency to write condescending emails after drinking. I drank during the Canisius-Iona game yesterday, the Griffs lost and I was bitter. Sorry. 2. I forgot to mention the stats. Fitzpatrick put up actual, legit NFL statistics while playing for the Bills, something that neither of those two never even sniffed (again, Losman had a DECENT 2006 but still not close to what Fitz has done). 3. I do not want Ryan Fitzpatrick starting for the Bills next season. And he won't. He's going to get cut tomorrow. You heard it here. That being said, to suggest that there cannot be varying degrees of guys who ultimately can't get it done is ridiculous. I maybe would've changed the tone of my post but I stand by it. It's pretty insane not to think that Fitz did not have a better stint as Bills QB than those other two jabronis. -

This thread is insulting to the intelligence of anyone who considers themself a football fan. Prior to 2010, the Buffalo Bills did not have an actual, legitimate NFL offense since 2004. They could not move the football like a real NFL team. They could do two things: dump the ball off to running backs and throw bombs to Lee Evans. Period, end of story. The 15-yard out pattern and even the 10-yard slant were off the table. Enter Ryan Fitzpatrick. They instantly became a middle-of-the-road NFL offense. I would even go so far as to give more of the credit to Chan Gailey on that one. But they did not have a plethora of weapons by any stretch. And yet they could go toe to toe with the Ravens in Baltimore. They could put up 31 at New England. Stevie Johnson, a 7th round pick, became a perennial 1,000 yard receiver. Hell, the first 7 games of 2012 alone is a slam dunk for Fitzpatrick over Losman/Edwards. Beating the Pats? Putting up 41 at KC? The comeback against Oakland? The wins and losses may appear similar but at least they had an offense that other teams had to game plan for. You can debate Losman/Edwards all day long. Personally I'd give the edge to Losman because I liked the guy and he had a decent '06 season. But it really doesn't matter. Bottom line, if you don't recognize the sizemic gap between Fitzpatrick and Losman/Edwards then either a) you have forgotten how truly miserable 2005-2009 was to watch as a Bills fan, b) you are trolling or c) (most likely) you don't know anything about football. Seeing as though you have Manti Te'o as your avatar, I'm leaning c. -

In fairness, Kolb sucked with Arizona but Flynn still hasn't proven he's not an NFL starting QB. In fact, he even looked pretty good in the pre-season this year. Nothing pisses me off more than when someone suggests Flynn and someone replies with the obligatory "Nooooooooo. Please God Nooooooo..." I'm not saying Flynn is the answer, but it certainly hasn't been proven that he's not. This is the infamous McKelvin poster from today. He's obviously trolling. -
The OP was trolling and he succeeded. But it does bring up an interesting question. Has there ever been a white cornerback? Ever? I'm from Williamsville and we even had black cornerbacks in high school. There's black hockey players and white running backs, but I've never heard of a white cornerback. There's even been black punters! Funny, but true.
